any one know if the mini is RMS or mean? or if the mini has an ohms checker?
Now see why couldn't I do that? Thanks! In ordering I bailed out for a minute. I think mine came with a 2 ohm coil I guess I want another one or pack or I wonder if I should try a 1 ohm just for the heck of it? Or 3? Just stay with 2 ohms huh? Im gonna wait till I hear what you guys think before I buy these and run off. Thanks!
I think your just running your istick too hot. Try and go down between 5.8 and 6.1 watts and tell me how it tastes.![]()
Nope and no word yet from HeavenGifts about the 30Watt.any one know if the mini is RMS or mean? or if the mini has an ohms checker?

Wow, they really are doing the silicone cases: iStick silicone case
I'm totally taking credit for this btw. 100 pages of pleading worked!

I read somewhere earlier on this thread that someone had mentioned that the vamo rattlesnaked more than the istick, but I'm experiencing just the opposite. The istick sounds like it's violently struggling to maintain said voltage/wattage, and the vamo just sounds a lot smoother.
My understanding is that the VAMO's PWM duty cycle is 33Hz, whereas the iStick's is 48Hz. This means that the VAMO is switching between full power and no power 33 times per second, while the iStick 'cycles' or 'pulses' the same way 48 times per second. The "rattlesnake" effect is perceived as a sort of staccato drumming. How apparent that is depends on the difference between maximum and minimum voltages, amount/quality of filtering (i.e., smoothing) in the output stage, and the sensitivity of the user. Some vapers are bothered by the rattlesnake effect; others don't notice it much or don't mind it.
Not all PWM regulators produce rattlesnaking. Provaris, for instance, have very effective filtering built into their chip and vape almost as if the voltage were constant and steady. Other PWM-regulated APVs use little or no filtering, which makes the rattlesnaking more pronounced.
I, too, experience my VAMOs as slightly smoother than my iSticks, but I can sense the rattlesnake effect on both devices.
Hmmm--do ya think the 50w iStick timing had anything to do with this..
Pricing should be interesting. Still like the iStick form factor though.
Colors look familiar!
Some pricing info on 50w iStick-- $49.99 @ Origin Vape(does say "Price is subject to change")

I wonder why Eleaf don't show the 30 & 50w on their site yet

From Heaven Gifts description
" Product Introduction
30W iStick battery mod can reach 30W max output wattage. The spring 510 connector ensures better connection with the atomizer. iSitck 30W can also support sub ohm coil. Full battery protection system gives you the best vaping experience."
Provari took the time to make sure their device operated as smoothly as possible, signal-wise, so there's got to be some advantage to a smooth signal, right? They seem to be the pinnacle of performance, and the flat signal is just one of the many glaringly positive qualities of the device. I still love the form factor of the istick. I think it could really be a perfect device if tweaked electronically (and tighten up those rattly buttons).
