Yeah, and when I get a blue one, I'm sure I'll have to run out and get yet another. You'd think that most of us never had toys for Christmas, the way we buy up these toys!

When trying out the first one before the Bending Adapters came along I happen to see one vendor having a sale going on the smok Groove II I had and watched fail and thought to myself "gee since I got something better time to get a spare!" and so far it hasn't proven itself to have been a bad choice for a new toy(vaping)! :toast:

Agree, and that wasn't "won't fit". It's "won't fire". That's the pin insulator, not the threads.

I knew there was some other problem some were reporting besides stripped threads. With the company having to move product out fast to keep up with the demand the problem was in assembly where things don't always fit the way they are supposed to. But if they pass a certain QC out they go! Usually it's a case of something will be working great until you take it apart and then it never works right again or won't fir together correctly.

Just a comment on the poll. It is dated 10-31-14. Those who responded may very well be the early adopters. They are the ones who went into uncharted water, experienced and discussed the good, as well as, the bad. I did not purchase my first iStick until November. Due to the experiences of the early adopters the water was well charted. I knew exactly what I was getting. There has been no buyers remorse.

The iStick may not be for everyone. For this ol' woman, it is darn near perfect. My fingers wrap around it as if it was custom made and it is very easy to use. It doesn't hurt that it has eye appeal. It is soooo cute.

For ego clearos I use the 510/ego adapter. The adapter fits nicely and I think it looks nice. I screw the Nautilus minis directly into the 510 connector. The instant I feel the slightest resistance from the threads I stop and start over. One person mentioned going the oposite direction to catch the threads. Then, proceeding in the correct direction. It works. When I think about it I hold the clearo so that the clearo threads are kind of floating between the iStick threads. I do not tighten the the clearo all the way to the top of the iStick. There is a gap of 1 or 2 business cards (I measured) between the bottom of the Nautilus mini and the top of the iStick.

I am also careful with the USB port. I have one connector that seems to fit better and goes in smoother than the others. I use that one almost exclusively unless I want to charge more than one at a time which is rare.

I am kind of attracted to the iStick mini but am concerned that it may be too small and thick to fit in the hand comfortably. Again, I'll wait until I see pics and read the experiences of the early adopters, especially the ladies.

FWIW, I did not vote in the pole. At least, I don't think I did.

Gee I guess I went into uncharted waters then and ran right into... a bad spring in an addon bracket? I think me made out quite good compared to what others ran into! :D I was one of those two people earlier in the thread mentioned a quarter turn counterclockwise to make you are at a good 90 degree angle and then see an easy start when reversing direction to go clockwise and get the tank started evenly not cross-threading. That old saying applies well to this! "HASTE MAKES WASTE"!

For eGo threaded tanks that will go nicely with the iStick about 6-10w the Smok Tumblers do one heck of a job if you prefer a cooler vape and still see a good vapor level and flavor level combined. Most of them I run here are on eGo VV/VW type batteries while I have one on a mech epipe as well since the tank is great at the low end. For most menthols, mints, berry, fruit flavors, drinks, etc. about 6-8 works out with the 2ohm not 2.4 or 1.8 for the tank design. 10w for Chocolate Peppermint type flavors takes the too sweet edge off.

That was the first tank I had available and seen with the Nautilus mini in the photo there I just posted when examining the Bending Adapter and deciding which tank to stay with for use on the go. I ended up simply staying with the Mini since it matched for the wattage range much closer.

Meanwhile for anyone just looking now to get one which will mean the full kit GearBest has them priced at $32.10 with everything included. http://www.gearbest.com/electronic-...utm_medium=shareasale&utm_campaign=shareasale

After you give your iStick gift to your wife...and she loves it...and you then decide to get 3-5 more of them...you may want to consider the 30WiStick.

It's about the same "wonderful" size as the original but has a stainless steel threaded spring loaded 510 connection.

Eleaf IStick 30 Watt
Do you happen to know the exact dimensions of the 30 watt?? Thanks

ETA= I just found the dimensions on a vendors site:

77 mm x 23 mm x 35.6 mm = the 30 watt

75 mm x 21 mm x 32.8 mm = the 20 watt

Topper won't fit if it is screwed on 12.78%
Topper won't fit if it is "screwed up"! 12.78% can also apply!

That sounds more like an issue with the tank end of the equation especially since there are all kinds of tanks out there coming from any number of sources. And if you have a cheap tank with soft threads that has a nic or has a bur in the threading and force that on it can tear up the threading on any mod. This is one reason I made the suggestion earlier about closely inspecting the threading on any tanks that will be used in case one has a problem before damaging the threads on anything essentially.

Threads have become sloppy 15.00% Another thing no one seems to include is using too much force to get a tank on as well as having a tank with worn threads being an actual cause. People often don't want to admit they handled something too rough and had an oops?! The 30% isn't written in stone afterall. A lot of that can come from being used to larger batteries and mods with more play in the threading either from manufacture or wear over time and then slam a tank without realizing it isn't going on as easy as something else due to worn or sloppy threading on the tank itself.

I don't trust polls. They are more entertainment than anything else to me. I bought an istick and can't wait for it to get here to see why people are so "passionate" about it. :)

I see that Vapenw is charging a flat rate of 6 dollars for shipping. I'm having second thoughts on my 2nd iStick. I don't have shallow pockets, but I'm not sure if I want to pay 6 for shipping.

You could just consider the $6 as an "impatience tax".

I got a Smart-20 (same as an iStick but with more color options) from FT for $26.30 with their free shipping...but it took me 2 weeks to receive.

Found 7 smart-20 at FastTech - Worldwide Free Shipping

I paid around 31-32 (free ship.) for the one I have now, so it's definitely worth getting another and it'll probably only take a couple days to get here. I know I used FT once or twice and it took at least a month so 2 weeks was like lightning for you.
Oh, I just noticed... is that smart 20 a clone??

eleafs site lists the 30 watt as 77mm X 23mm X 32.5mm

Basically the same height and width (footprint), but the flared top makes it look better with larger tanks (i.e. Nautilus)

Thanks,I have already looked at the 30 and the 50 from day 1. I got on a notification list. While I might like these little box mods for a purpose, I don't know if they would suit my wife as well. Personally I would rather have the advantage of sub ohming if I want to and I think the thread issues may have been addressed. If her toppers fit and fire ok and the threads are not as bad as some people say, then I will give it to her. I know she will like the look , feel and performance of it otherwise and there would be no takin it back from her unless it totally failed. I don't want her to have even minor problems with a device that would have her not usin it so much, as I am tryin my best now to get her to quit smoking without being pushy about it. She likes her VV3 but starts puffin on a cig while it's chargin. She's had it for several months but has never used the pass through to vape. I guess because it is more convenient to just fire up a cig. The look and battery life of the istick caught my eye so I asked where I could find the best price on this forum and purchased one. Then I found out about the connecter problems and people were saying it was somewhat of a problem at lower watts where she vapes and toppers not fittin flush, etc.. I want her to use her device more not less. Just in the last month I have been able to get her enjoying 2 more juice flavors, so that makes 3 now. Things are lookin up. I'm also happy to say that in the last week, I have got my 85 year old MIL on Volts and found a lite cig flavor that she likes! Now I don't worry about her leavin lit cigs all over her house or goin to sleep smoking so much. She's smoking less each day and enjoyin it. Thanks

May I ask why she has never tried using it pass through? The VV is usable as a pass through device, that was the only way I could make through a day sometimes when I used the VV exclusively. Sounds like you are going about getting her off the coffin nails in a pleasant manner. Hope everything works out.

How's it vaping for you, Kat?

Love your Nautilus tanks, btw :)

Thanks, jefs! I like them (a lot), too!

The mini seems to be vaping just fine and dandy. I've only had it since last nite tho. I have doubts that it would ever replace one of my 20w, but the adorable factor can NOT be beat! And it's rather novel and cute to see the seconds per puff right in full view while vaping it.

Seriously, I was thinking about one because I am going to order something today but I think I'm going with another 20w. I'm really satisfied with it and I'd like a spare and I haven't ordered anything in about a week, so I'm due.

Well, I dropped my iStick with the Nautilus mini on it twice yesterday. Nothing at all happened, no cracks, shorts, or anything! My heart dropped to the floor though when it happened. I don't have any backup batteries.

This could be an excellent excuse to finally get the shmexy blue iStick I've been staring at for so long.

Thanks. Up until about a 6 weeks ago, her VV3 would last 2 or 3 days. If it was chargin she would pick up an ego she got as her first battery. But lately shes just startin to use it more and I guess it's just habit for her to put it on charge and grab the ego. She has just lately been discharging the VV3 in a matter of hours so I decide to get her one that she could use for a full day or more to keep her on it more. And I've gotten her interest in other flavors ( after tryin several vendors and 100's of juices) and she's requested more tanks. So I hooked her up. But she had to put them on the ego batteries which don't perform like her VV3. That's why I started lookin for an upgrade and that led me here. Several people here have been very helpful. I just want to be sure I don't throw any problems her way that would end up with her putting her vapes on a shelf and forgettin about it.

Well, you DO need a back-up battery. Everyone does. Stuff happens, and you don't want to be without a backup.

I had wanted the blue istick originally, but the were never in stock when first released, so I ended up with a black one. But I was determined to get a backup, and had to get the blue. And when I pick up the new 30W, it'll be blue first :)
