I've been using rayon since the melatonin days but haven't had much luck since I started using Kanger Subtanks. I haven't really dug too deeply into the issue yet because the cotton included with the tanks has worked fine. Any suggestions for when that cotton runs out? I've got about a 10,000 year supply of rayon and don't plan to purchase any other wicking material.

I use Rayon in all my builds, it is the easiest to use and provides the best wicking with no added flavour.
I have tried silica, regular cotton balls, organic, Japanese and even degummed hemp which has quite a bit of that Monkey A55 taste that does not go away. Rayon out wicks and performs them all.

The only thing I have not tried yet is Mesh.

I've tried all those as well. :)

I like both JOC and rayon. But I think cotton is maybe a bit nicer.

JOC on my IStick/Kayfun
The orientation is horizontal vs. vertical, so it 'fans' out. Wicks great.

I'm using Koh gen do and Muji - as far as I know the sub tank has Muji in the spares pack.
Rayon is just as good in my opinion.

This is a new one, DaFreek. It wouldn't surprise me if there is some kind of fail-safe protection like you describe. I wouldn't worry about it unless it happened again.
I saw it on PBusardo's review. So I'm not worried about it anymore :)
I also shorted an atty with a screwdriver and it turned itself off. Plugged in the power supply and all is fine again :)

Are you rebuilding the OCC or RBA head?

RBA section.

Unless things have changed over in the Rayon thread, it is recommended we thin the tails significantly for a Kayfun-type build (trim 60-75%). The tails should just brush the deck. The old clip and stuff method is, apparently, not good with Rayon.

ETA: Make sure you keep the shoulders full and only trim below.

Oh man, I retired that thing a long time ago.. Air flow is way to restrictive... I was just thinking I should remove it from my list.. As soon as I get a second RTA... Lol I've been using the flashi exclusively the last year.

One of the bigger benefits of rayon has been the lack of coil gunking when wicked properly. I had a recent build that went 180ml with little to no gunking of the coil on a standard vv at 6v. 100vg Arabic tobacco juice. There was nothing on the coil to dry burn at the end...

I'm assuming your trimming that more before its done trolldragon..

2 days and the 50w is still over half charged. This is so great. One thing is there's not muc guess the charging port is a vent.

Just received the silicone sleeve from sweet-vapes.

I gotta tell ya... there isn't an istick that shouldn't have one of those on it. It adds no bulk, quiets the button issue and makes it feel really high-end and solid. Not to mention the extra protection.

Best $4 you will spend, guys.

That's it. I'm getting one. Done. :vapor:

Update - The case came in yesterday. It's great!

Grippy, and adds just a bit of "heft" or solid feel that I'm loving.

Very impressed with the fit over the buttons. I've had a few phone cases that cost 10x as much and did not fit the buttons this well. No more rattle.

My only gripe is the hole over the charging port -- it kind of works, but doesn't really allow a solid connection to the charger because of the width of the rubber. The istick also wasn't sitting very sturdy when standing upright. I cut out a small square hole around the charging port and it solved both issues. It now sits even more sturdy than without the case, if tipped slightly it will return to resting.

It's the blue iStick, but you couldn't tell :2cool:

I trimmed it up more for sure, that was just the precut length. I still bunny ear it through the chimney and trim & tuck it back down in.
I have found too short of length will give me dry hits as I usually vape 80/20 vg/pg and I do make sure the juice channels are clear. I'll pop back into the rayon thread and get caught up on all the activities.

That build was taken out an hour after it was put in, 8 wraps of 24g is way too hot on a Kayfun.

I put some clear packing tape on the bottom of my istick.then I trimmed it with a exacto knife. I can see how the bottom would scratch easily!

OMG!!! That's gotta' rank right up there with the DREADED BUTTON RATTLE!!!

If not sure if any of mine are "bottom-scratched". After 2-3 months with 4 iSticks in my "rotation"...I've yet to be looking into a mirror while vaping. :vapor:

ruet thank you so much man. Vaporshark dropped the price of the dna 30 to $69.99. And there is a website with sx zero 50w clones for about 80bucks shipped from within the USA. I am trying to weigh all my options here so these are just the things that are going through my mind. Thank you so much for taking the time.

Have you run across this list from the http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/fo...1-little-itty-bitty-mods-under-100-a-132.html thread:

Yeah and it will only get better from here. I have a good bit of confidence in Eleaf after seeing how they responded to the issues of the 20w. Now I have to decide on what to put on these 50's. Of course everything I have is workin fine on em now. I just have a need for some of the new tanks. :)

If you're an "analog-convert vapist"...and NOT into sub-ohming...you may want to check out the (less than $10) Eleaf GS Air.

A good number of vapists seem to LOVE it...random quote..."I'll say it again, I have been happier with these GS Airs than I was with my Russian, Fogger and RDA.".
