Are you an MTL tootle puffer? Or a fire eater, darling?

Still trying to figure out if the Subtank can be tamed and used as a kayfun with a better airflow by us, MTL folks. I hear conflicting opinions from different users. Some say yes, others say no way--too much air.

I have a Subtank in transit, due in Monday....depending on where and when it snows again...

I am mostly a MTL tootle puffer, and am generally around 10 watts average. I'm figuring different ways to modify the Subtank to tame it, make it do what I want from it, and if it's possible, I'll figure a way. May even have to resort to using duct tape.....:2cool:

IMHO - better flavor than my kanger tanks (evod, t3s, aero v1, pt 3, geni mega - not the sub family), better flavor than my bvc tanks (anyvape davide mini & regular w/AFC) not as good flavor as nauty mini. Better vapor production than all of them.

I could echo this opinion almost word for word... The only other thing I can add is that the coil handles higher VG liquid much better than the Naut's coil. My first coil lasted 2 weeks with liquid that I would normally change out after 2 days with my Nauts.

I usually hold in my mouth, roll around on my tongue and exhale through my nose. unless I'm in some mindless activity, and then I'm puffing away gawd knows how..

I'm using the 1.2 OCC now, just to get going with them.. didn't get the STMinis to sub ohm with.. I don't sub ohm.. the GS Airs and eGrip are my first real experience with dual coils. I got them for the capacity and the RBA- I see 1.5 singles in my future! yeay!

the air is great actually.. three different settings.. I find it less airy than the GS Airs, and even with the wide-open, less noise! I had to change the drip tip- not one for wide bore. actually using the GS Air tips!

Seriously? This is actually very good news. I found the airflow on the GS Air just perfect out of the box...

Or maybe it's just how we perceive things? You know, is that dress white and gold or black and blue? ;)

Keep us posted, Stosh, will ya?

I'm very close to getting one. I'm so curious--and I really like Kanger.

oh my jeezum that darn dress.

I prefer a lot less air.. the GS Airs are very airy to me, juice hogs, and noisy to boot- but I still love them! the STMinis have been awesome today (my first day)- didn't refill either tank, great draw and flavor and vapor and yummy. I'm going to get on the RBAs Sunday- both juices I have going are wicked coil gunkers. I bought a pack of 1.2 OCC as back up- really hope they collect dust, but glad they are rebuildable as well!

Stop over to the rayon thread. A build was just posted day before yesterday in sub tank.. Ask questions post pics we'll help you sort it out.

I finally achieved a rayon build that I'm going to keep in my RBA section. 28ga, semi-contact, twisted coil with a 3mm ID. The coil is so big it barely fits between the posts. I used a lot more rayon than normal with this build and split the tails so the wick-ends sit on either side of the juice channels. It's not a real big vapor maker but the flavor is out of this world. It might be the most intense flavor producer I've come across.

Yup, they are noisy. But they don't whistle like that blasted Kayfun of mine.

So you're saying that your Subtank is less airy than the GS Air???? I'll be...

Curiouser and curiouser.

So now I have to learn how to twist my wire?

I just learned how to build a proper tensioned coil...

If you use the old dual coil style heads in the sub tank, it will give you a much tighter draw more suitable to mouth to lung

Thanks.

The thing is, I'm trying to get away from dual coils altogether. I have plenty of tanks that work great with them, but I really prefer single-coil Kayfun style builds.

You can always rebuild them single coil :p

I believe you can get single bvc style heads on fastech that fit tanks like the aerotanks, those would work in the sub tanks

I do, on occasion, but it's a PITA.

But why would I buy a Subtank if I already have tanks that work well with those coils? The only reason I'm even considering the Sub are the OCC coils and the RBA...

Cause capacity for days :p
And better airflow over the aerotanks when opened up all the way, and, just because the sub tanks are so cool :p

I bought a few, I'm not too crazy about them but they do produce flavor with low cost coils. The tank size is just too small. When the bigger Air tanks come to fruition I'll buy a half dozen.

:( not expected from factory till 3-20 :(

that is if i understood the english-chinese the right way

Hi,

We are sorry to tell you that the gs air is not in stock. And we have just received the announcement of factory, the goods will be finishing earliest in 20 March. So we can't not afford you in these days.
Hope you could understand.Thank you.

Regards,

I don't have any old dual coil style heads....don't like dual coil, never bought the tanks or heads. Took a complete pass on them, by any manufacturer. The Subtank is my first try at a new technology since the Evods came out.....(bought one -- fail)

So now I have to learn how to twist my wire?

I just learned how to build a proper tensioned coil...

I recently tried twisting some wire, very thin gauge so as not to venture into sub-ohm. It's fairly simple and the twisted wire makes coiling easier, takes the springiness out of it and the coils just stay where you wrap them, without compressing or torching.

Well guys I have no complaints at all. More than I would expect for $40.00, excellent value IMO.

Buttons rattle complaints are pretty funny to me, I mean I don't sit here and try to play the macarana shaking my mod.. But I shook it probably for the only time ever and there's no rattle. Also this is a very comfortable button to use.

Since some had mentioned and wondered about the plated chrome bottom and top.. I did take a pic if mine on its second day.. I use it at work, it got set in car cupholder with change and keys, set up on toolbox. The scratches don't bother me one bit, however stainless wouldn't show barely a mark after over a year my zmax, looks new still. I then put clear packing tape on it and then trimmed with razor blade to protect it. Later that day dropped it 4 feet to concrete.. It survived, crinkled the tape a little so it did work to protect it... Another day later the tape is pretty scratched itself.. I'm pretty hard on mods. I imagine you could use a spare cell phone screen cover much the same way and I will try that next time, or just not worry about it scratches are character right?
