OK so I gave away my istick 20W to one of the maintenance guys at my apartment complex and replaced it with an istick 30W.

I have to say that I LOVE! LOVE! LOVE! this thing. My biggest gripe with the 20W was the excessive power, which made it virtually unusable. The 30W fixed that as well as any other little gripe I may have had, and then some. With the accuracy of the readings, I can now set my 1.8 ohm coils to my ideal wattage (7W) and forget about it. This is the little mod I have been dreaming about. :D

The best part was how cheap I got it for. Rocky Mountain Vapor sells it for $40, but with their 15% off code (FORUM), I got it for $34 shipped! I even splurged and got the white/translucent silly-cone sleeve for an extra $2, although I really like the blue color with my stainless steel EVOD clearos, so I may leave the iStick unprotected for now.

Needless to say, eLeaf knocked it out of the park with this one. I will certainly be recommending this mod to any and all vapers, new and old alike.

That is all. Carry on....

Looks like the guy I threw a handful of change at this morning, who was standing at an intersection with a sign "Will work for Beer"

When he was bent over picking up the change it wasn't a pretty sight......

Did you give him enough for a beer? Hope he wasn't dressed like that :)

He definitely could get a tall Colt 45 Malt I believe.....:)

Wasn't dressed quite like that, I don't think he could afford the colorful britches and blouse at the moment, booze was top priority----:D

I just got a 20W as a gift...what do you mean "excessive power"?

The 20W cannot reduce it's voltage so with a fully charged battery at 4.2v, the lowest wattage you can get with a 1.8 ohm coil is 9.8watts. If you prefer your vape at lower wattage you're SOL at least until your battery voltage drops. You can get around it using a higher ohm coil.

Okay, I'm going to say it, I like my istick 30W better than my istick 50W.

Let the egg and tomato throwing begin.

No eggz here, sweets. I like-a da 30,,, a lot!

I'm staring right at mine as I type this...

It's purple...PURPLE...

[I'm confident enough in my manhood to admit it was Pink...if it were PINK...but it's NOT...it is PURPLE!!!]

ger, it's Pink, dahlink. ;)

I think the 20W/30W-iSticks spoil you for using other Mods.

I, too, LOVED my MVP2's. But I, too, felt they felt like bricks after I got my (first) iStick (I subsequently PIF'd all 3 of my MVP2's).

Similarly...the IPV Mini looked like a pretty interesting Mod to add to my 20W/30W-iStick "collection". So when I found it on SALE...I jumped on it. I got it...unboxed it...put in an 18650...and in holding it...it feels like the lead bat the batter swings in the batter's box before going to the plate to "swing at the ball" with his 30W-iStick...

I have a variety of toppers (the majority--Nauty's) and a variety of Mods (the majority-20W/30W-iSticks) in my "rotation".

I came up with the harebrained scheme that I'd buy a couple small sized 1000mAh-ish batteries that I'd keep (charged up) by the door. Then when I would be headed out and about I'd take the topper(s) that had the most joose in them at the time (from my "rotation"). Because the toppers would be varied...I also decided I'd need batteries with a floating center pin and (at least) VV.

My two "candidates" were the Mini-iStick and the Innokin VV V4.

But...it turns out both the Mini and the V4 have fixed center pins! :nah:

So...am looking for suggestions for a smaller-than-the-30WiStick...1000mAh-ish...floating pin...VV...out and about battery.

Welp....... as you know, I also got the IPV mini. Mini what. It is H E A V Y. For me that's a no-brainer. It's not going in MY purse. Bummer. It's cute, it works splendidly, it looks like a 'Stick (grown up), but it's just too damm heavy. Bummer.

I would have recommended the VV (3 or 4) but you'd need to organize your toppers to be non-floating pin worthy. Sorry.

(PS. I still always carry an Innokin V3 and/or a Twist with me. Ya never know, right?) ;)

Weird...I just adjusted mine down to 6W/3.0V with my Magma topping it w/ a 1.55 ohm single coil. Did I get one that may have been patched and corrected...or are ya saying it's misreading lower voltages when they are actually still high.

the read-out on the 20watt is in mean and might be misleading to some degree but if you start low and adjust till you find what's right for you, your coil and your juice all should be well ;)

I assume you are asking me(?)

By excessive power, I mean that the readings on the 20W are not accurate due to being tuned to Mean rather than RMS, as well as being unable to buck the battery's voltage (as Road_House explained). In real world usage, this translates to the 20W hitting at a higher voltage than what it is set to. At the lowest setting of 3.0 volts, the 20W hits closer to 4.0-4.1 volts. Not a problem for many users, but for us lower voltage/wattage vapers, it makes the device much less user friendly. This issue was discussed ad nauseum when the 20W was first released, and very well covered in this thread. The issue was resolved with the 30W and 50W versions, as well as a few other issues, but (I believe) the 10W is also tuned the same way as the 20W. CMIIW

Apologies for opening up that old...
