What I'm finding though are the open, evenly spaced coils don't gunk up as badly or as quickly as the micro tensioned coils do. And with some attys, open coils just don't fit either.

And Fyi, someone on another forum( not ecf) had a30W istick to go from 29W to 16 watts then back up to 25w. She purchased it at a local b&m and they didn't have the color 30W she had so she bought a 50W by paying the difference between the 2.
Depends on spacing. I have done combo coils and even tried a U shape flavor bend in the center that I saw a guy do. I want to try some twisted coils but not in the GSAs. I think I'm getting better flavor with the stressed contact coils though. I'm only learnin and haven't experimented a whole lot cause it's so easy just to twist up a loose barrel coil. I agree with you on gunkin though :)

I like a parallel 24g/28g but I doubt it would fit in anything buy an RDA... :D

So evenly spaced, open coils are best? Who da thunk it? All those times I was striving for perfect micro tensioned coils I was doing it all wrong!
I have one lemo with a big TMC in it that works great for the thug juice I have in it. The other has a spaced coil because it stays cleaner with the ry4 I have in it. Great vape from both.

Okay...so! I bought a new tank for my eleaf. I am not burning out coils! :D However...now my issue is that I am not getting very much flavor. It is more clouds than anything else...this is starting to get very frustrating...I bought a Innokin iClear X.I

Any idea on what to do to get more flavor out of my juice? It is 50PG/50VG. I have never had a problem with flavor before with this juice. I just do not understand...

I'm 6 months vaping and new to rebuilding. Here is what I've found so far. The flavor and vapor quality I prefer comes from an Nautilus mini with the bvc coils but I got tired of buying so many coil heads. The goal was to recreate the N mini experience in an RTA and I got close enough by duplicating the ohms, draw and watts I use on the N mini in a Kanger sub mini RTA. I tried the same with an Egrip RTA and got equally satisfying results. To reduce the air flow on the Kanger I expose only part of the smallest air hole. On the egrip I restrict the RTA air supply by wedging a peice of aluminum foil in the air hole so it won't fall out.

Vapers rave about the great flavor they get from low ohm lung hits. That's not my experience. My atlantis is gathering dust for now. May be my tastes will change but for now I'mm old school, lower wats, higher ohms, tight draw, mouth to lung hits. Then again, I've always had a knack for being out of step with what ever is mainstream.

You should buy the protank air valve. It makes a world of differance for the protank 2. Check utube and learn to rebuild coils. I personally don't like the Iclear Xi for the same reason.

Doh! I just got my 30W today and was in the process of falling madly in love with it...I hope it doesn't
betray me doing the BLS.
I would cry...:(

I just dropped my newest (or 2nd) 30W with an attached KFL clone onto concrete  Some dings on the blue finish, but both iStick and Kayfun survived and working like they should. Who said they weren't durable??? :2cool:

the gs air has been getting good reviews for flavor but you need to stop yourself and work with what you have first. ;) if you can't make it work try to figure out why so you can avoid making the same mistakes again.

the classifieds here are sometimes a good place to pick up new atties to try out (you need to get verified to gain access) or check out pif where members give away some of their equipment to those who are just starting out

May I suggest getting the eleaf GS-Air? LOTS of us love this tank, and it's cheap and delivers awesome flavor and vape.

Get it here for $9:

Electronic Cigarette - Best Electronic Cigarette - Vapor Cigarette Buy the Best Eleaf GS-AIR 20W Clearomizer from www.evape.us

Edited to add: OR, you could do as ^^Tibs^^ recommended above. ;)
BUT, I still recommend the GS-Air. ;)

I've had the silicone cases on 2 of my 3 20W iSticks for about 2 weeks now and wanted to give my review.

I love love love them.

Pros:
They fit like a glove. So good that it takes some work to get them off.
Less slippery in hand. I always feel like the naked one will slip from my hand. Not with this case.
Adds the slightest amount of bulk which I like. I'm may be a tootle puffer but I am still a man and it feels great in my hand. Naked one feels small now.
No more grabbing a cold iStick.
Doesn't slide down car seat when I put it there.
No issues with charging port.
No noise made when I lay it on its side.
Removes the button rattle (I know this may be a con for some )

Con:
Doesn't slide into my shirt pocket as easily as a naked one.

I must be the only person posting on this thread who feels that the Eleaf GS Air tank is nothing special.

With all the love on the thread for the GS Air awhile back, I bought one on sale, along with two packs of dual-coil replacement heads. I really expected to love the GS-Air and was very disappointed when I didn't. Maybe the head that came installed on the tank was a dud or something, but it popped and spit like crazy, on top of which it didn't provide flavor that was any better than my dirt-cheap EVOD-style BCC Chinese GS-H2/H5 clearos re-coiled with cotton or rayon wicks, and it couldn't hold a candle to my Nautis or Aspire clearos with BVC heads.

I did toss the original head and try again with a replacement head, but the result was the same. I don't know, maybe I'll try another new head. What the heck, I still have nine of them. LOL.

By the way, I'm not in any way suggesting that all you GS-Air fans are wrong. All I'm saying is that I didn't have a satisfying experience with mine.

Nope you're not alone. For what it offered {IMO} it was a waste of money. The only plus for me was the same coils are used in the J/eGrip.

Ok I have a problem with my 10w and mini. I am a bit odd, may be on my own, but I use a Kangertech Sub Tank Mini. I know it won't work but mine does as I use the RBA coil built at 2.5 ohms. Problem I have if I tighten the tank the tinyist bit I get a low indication. If I back off a 16th of a turn it works. Another 16th and it's open circuit. Funny it works ok on the red ones but not the blue ones.
Just posting here in case someone else has had similar problems.
Same problem I recently began experiencing with my 20W.

Sounds like the positive pin in the 510 connector is shorting out, which usually means insulator grommet problems. Apparently Eleaf used the same wonky fixed pin on the Mini as on the iStick 20. The cure for that is usually a little bit of deft micro-surgery---fitting a tiny O-ring (I don't know the size spec in the UK) underneath the pin on top of the existing insulator ring. Requires some gumption, patience, care, and pointed tools---jeweler's screwdrivers or something similar. Lots of people have done it, so we know it's not rocket science. You don't need to open the case of the Mini.

I read that the pin can be carefully pulled about halfway out of (or up from) the original insulator---about 2 mm---without breaking the soldered wire from the pin to the chip board. Then it's easier to slip the O-ring over the top of the pin. Once in place, gently push down the pin to seat it again, and you're back in business.
I'm gonna have to find someone with no fingernails to do this fix for me. Mine are so long that I'd end up chucking the iStick out a window due to frustration.

Thank you! :) I just quit cigarettes again for the third time. I'm hoping this time sticks...so I really want to get involved with the community here. I think it would help.

If you ever get the slightest thought of returning to analogs...I'd suggest getting some WTA ejuice.

Tobacco dependence is multi-dimensional, and individuals vary in what they “got” from smoking. Numerous anecdotes show that for some people, these non-nicotine alkaloids in tobacco can be just as important as, if not more important than, nicotine. They are part of the mental, psychological, and physical sense of balance/normalcy that many of us got from smoking.

After 21 months of vaping I was not struggling with nicotine-only ejuices and had NO cigarette cravings. I just decided to try the WTA ejuice on a "whim". (My "usual" ejuice is 12 mg.-nicotine but I ordered their ejuice with 24 mg.-WTA...figuring I could dilute it [if needed] to cut the cost.)

When I got my order I put some (full-strength) in a T3S. After 3-5 minutes of vaping the WTA I was startled to find that the "mental fog"...that I had come to take for granted with vaping--and had gotten use to...lifted. I thought "WOW!!! The Mental Balance that I had always LOVED (and had forgotten about) with cigarettes has returned!!!"

I'm now in my 4th day of 5-10 puffs about every 8 hours (WTA has a long half-life) and I continue to feel totally Clear, Calm and Focused. (A 30 ml. bottle, though kinda' expensive, will last me a LONG time.)

As always...of course...YMMV...
