The Lab
I'm 6 months vaping and new to rebuilding. Here is what I've found so far. The flavor and vapor quality I prefer comes from an nautilus mini with the bvc coils but I got tired of buying so many coil heads. The goal was to recreate the N mini experience in an RTA and I got close enough by duplicating the ohms, draw and watts I use on the N mini in a Kanger sub mini RTA. I tried the same with an Egrip RTA and got equally satisfying results. To reduce the air flow on the Kanger I expose only part of the smallest air hole. On the egrip I restrict the RTA air supply by wedging a peice of aluminum foil in the air hole so it won't fall out.

Vapers rave about the great flavor they get from low ohm lung hits. That's not my experience. My atlantis is gathering dust for now. May be my tastes will change but for now I'mm old school, lower wats, higher ohms, tight draw, mouth to lung hits. Then again, I've always had a knack for being out of step with what ever is mainstream.

I guess you're just another Tootle Puffer............:vapor:

I've had the silicone cases on 2 of my 3 20W iSticks for about 2 weeks now and wanted to give my review.

I love love love them.

Pros:
They fit like a glove. So good that it takes some work to get them off.
Less slippery in hand. I always feel like the naked one will slip from my hand. Not with this case.
Adds the slightest amount of bulk which I like. I'm may be a tootle puffer but I am still a man and it feels great in my hand. Naked one feels small now.
No more grabbing a cold iStick.
Doesn't slide down car seat when I put it there.
No issues with charging port.
No noise made when I lay it on its side.
Removes the button rattle (I know this may be a con for some )

Con:
Doesn't slide into my shirt pocket as easily as a naked one.

I could not agree with you more! Well, except for the man part, that is. ;)

I love, love, LOVE my "silly-cone" cases (as Bike calls them). And, I may just order more the next time I order from FT (cuz they're soooo cheap there) and cut them down to fit my mini!

Very interesting...(I hadn't viewed that video before I purchased the WTA ejuice.) (But...now that my "Normal Mind" has been restored with the WTA...it won't deter me from vaping WTA.)

[On the other hand...if I suddenly "disappear" from ECF...at least you'll know why...]

I do plan on exploring (in the Aroma thread) about how truthful/valid that Warning really is...but in the meantime I should mention that there is other research showing that WTA may be quite beneficial to one's health:

" It is well-demonstrated that smoking protects against several serious diseases (until the point at which long-term smoking causes its own damage). Indeed, one of these medical conditions is known as 'the non-smoker's disease'. These conditions belong to the auto-immune/inflammatory and degenerative disease types.

It is assumed, with some good evidence for it, that nicotine is the main factor, since nicotine treatment also provides some relief for some patients...However, it is not proven that nicotine is the only beneficial agent in tobacco, and since anatabine, one of the other alkaloids, is a powerful anti-inflammatory, there are indications that a wide-spectrum alkaloid delivery solution might be a better option than nicotine alone.

My istick now refuses to recognize when it's plugged in to charge regardless or cord or charger it's plugged into. An suggestions it's less Than 6 months old.
May I ask which one. I have 3 20's. I haven't ventured yet. I haven't had even one problem with mine yet. :)

it's an iStick 20w, I currently am having major financial issues so replacing it is not an option. I found out what was wrong though, basically the charging port on the bottom from normal use has become "unglued" and now is floating free not connected to anything.
So. I'm out any sort of APV for now.
just my luck to get one with bad solder joints.

SpaceCase, several other people in this thread had that same problem. They opened their iStick up and reglued it back on.

Interesting reply gerrymi, I wasn't rubbishing the web site at all. In fact reading through the faq's it was made quite clear the product wasn't suitable for everyone, I have no need for the stuff as e-cigs have worked for me 3 years plus now. I was intending to get some for my partner who is having a hard time trying to quit, the video was quite a surprise surly the vendor must know about the video.
Anyway thanks for your input I will just wait until I can find out more.

If the micro USB has become completely detached from the board, it might not be possible to re-attach. I finally had the same problem after 6 months with one of my 20w sticks; it was completely detached. I opened it and noticed the port has 2 solder points on each side to secure it, plus has 5 tiny finger-connectors at the back which I assume are its main electrical connection to the board. In my case, rather than solder joints that came loose, the 5 finger-connectors broke midway where they pass through holes on the board. Perhaps someone else has the skill for such micro surgery but I don't see how those extremely tiny and closely spaced fingers can be re-attached.
So far I have only removed the bottom plate and attempted to re-solder it, but I might later dis-assemble it completely to better access the finger-connectors on the board; though I'm not holding out much hope for that venture.

You could just replace the USB micro jack instead of trying to repair what is there, these would probably work.
