I had the strangest thing happen this morning with one of my 30W isticks. I had a GS AIr M on it, 1.3 ohm coil vaping some Atlanta at 10W. I hit on it and got the nastiest burnt liquid taste I've ever had. So I lowered the watts to 5.3 and got the liquid back to tasting almost right. Now every time I'd try to get the watts up, more burnt taste. I took that tank off and moved it over to the mini istick. On it, I'm able to vape at 4.0 volts(mini istick does volts, not watts I think). I put the little GS 16S on the 30W and have been vaping it all day at 9W with a 1.0 ohm coil. 9 watts equal 3.0 volts. Can someone explain this? In English please!

Yep! But the GS 16S has an air controller base with a rebuilt coil too.
Reason I asked was i wondered if it was a sudden wicking issue with the rebuilt coil instead of a wattage
or voltage issue...unlikely.
You were finaly able to rebuild the 16S?
No...it has a GS Air coil in it. When you use the air controller bases the GS16S's are like very mini GS Airs.
And I filled the tank last night and let it sit and soak all night.
Thanks to all for your kind thoughts and wishes. Still trying to figure out what's going on with her and they are putting her through the mill. Hopefully there will be a consensus and a treatment plan started.
I really appreciate all the great ideas. I will check out the FT site for that board, but being the stubborn person I am, I do want to nose around and see if I can come up with switches. Thing is, for the price these devices are literally throw away. It will cost more than it's worth if I have someone try to fix it, but I want to give it a go just for the satisfaction.

Linda, take a look at your tanks. E-liquid feeds through gravity. A buildup of negative air pressue in the tank (and sometimes the wick) prevents the e-liquid from flooding the head and leaking out. The negative pressure in the tank must be kept in balance or it prevents gravity from feeding the wick. If the wick is too dense, sometimes air is prevented from passing into the tank, preventing e-liquid from saturating the wick. Sometimes the tank just "vapor locks" especially if too full. Always leave a little air in the tank when you fill.
Look for a bubble or two rising every vape or two. No bubble? No liquid feed. Start by giving a couple of short, sharp puffs through the drip tip and look for rising bubbles. Don't overdo it or you may flood the head in a big way. If the puffs don't help, try opening the tank to allow the pressure to equalize. Reassemble and test. If this doesn't work, your head is probably too densely wicked. Try rewicking the head. If you've been using this head for a while, sometimes cotton will "wear out" telling you it's time to rewick.

So Ive had two isticks bite the dust this week, first was a month old 30w that I got for my wife, after taking it apart it looks like a little juice somehow got in there and fried something. I looked very closely and couldnt find anything that looked burnt or out of place but it wont do anything.
The second one that bit the dust was a 20w I got as soon as they came out and also passed on to my wife as a back-up after I bought a 50w. The USB plug literally popped off and was loose in the mod. I also took it apart to see if I could fix it to no avail. My 50w is still working perfectly as of right now but I honestly dont think I will buy another istick. I also realize that both of these basically no longer work due to user error but its not like we jam USB plugs in or pour juice into them either, we simply use them as they were intended to be used and in my opinion is very gingerly. I get upset over the hairline scratches on the chrome ends of my 50.

Well this officially confirms my opinion about buying another Istick, although, I'm struggling with the Heatvape Invader Mini I just purchased today, so I'm not sure exactly, what I'm going to do
It seems that the floating 510 used in the 30W and 50W models is allowing leaked juice to enter the case and cause havoc. Eleaf was pretty quick to address the shortfalls of the 20W model and I have confidence they will do the same with the current issues. I have 3 20Ws and 3 30Ws but don't plan on buying any more until they do. I just love the form factor too much to but a different mod.

I've had zero issues on two Heatvape Defenders..... and they feel better in my hand that all the others.
I love how it feels, but I'm just struggling with getting it to work with my tanks
The 30w has a silicone cup/protector right above where the positive wire is soldered onto the 510 pin, the 20w had a white blob of what looks like caulk to keep juice from entering into the mod. I dont know how good either works as prevention. My wife mainly uses simple ego style batteries and only took the 30w out of the house once or twice, the 20w I gave her had been with me all day, every day and had a few battle scars.
I love the isticks but the money Im now out for both of them I would honestly rather have another DNA30 vaporshark even though they have had their issues too.
Are there some threads on ECF that confirm the leaking post?

I also just searched Eleaf istick 50w Owners Group | E-Cigarette Forum for the word "leak" and there is a lot of speculation that the leaking 510 is the cause of the 50W issues. Maybe I convinced myself of that and thought it would apply to the 30W also.
I saw Cheech was active in that thread, maybe he can provide some information, I don't feel like reading the whole thread.
