Done..! :)

This was my response to the last question (Something like, "What would you like to tell people who are researching the e-cig", something on those lines... damn... I just took the survey, and already forgot... ...where was I ...? ...can I help you?? Oh, right!! The response! What was the key combo for 'Paste', again?

"From personal experience, the e-cigarette is much more effective in keeping people away from tobacco than other NRT's, because it adresses the behavioral aspect of smoking habit. Unlike other NRT's, it should be regarded more like an effective alternative to cigarettes (a much safer one), rather than a 'quit cigarettes therapy'. Therefore, it should not be subject to medicalization, which would only make it LESS available for current smokers who might want to try it in a new attempt to quit tobacco. By the same reasoning, it should also not be heavily regulated as a tobacco product: the liquid the e-cig vaporises can be available with NO nicotine, and the health risks associated with tobacco (the main reason for heavy tobacco regulation) are not associated with the e-cig. To keep the e-cig widely available for those who may need it's help, it should be classified as a consumer product - obviously, with the adequate quality control usually associated with those products - but NOT with the unnecessary and excessive burden of pharmalogical standards, or the excessive restrictions associated with harmful tobacco."

I did a quick google search on Dr. Wilson as well. At first glance of reading his bio, it looks like we don't need to have tin-foil hats on, he seems legit:

I'm just wondering what Stance the Survey results are Supposed to Support?

If they want to pay to get old Donnie to Hershey, PA ........ I told 'em I would gladly participate. If not - they can have my blood and scan my remaining brain cells here in New Mexico. Good, bad or down the middle - we NEED these studies as long as they are impartial, factual and those running the show are not held accountable to ANY benefactor. I told 'em so. Let's see where it winds up. I like the way this was presented.

Anyone else plan on participating? It IS a great opportunity. Not often WE have a chance to be a direct part of these studies.

** I did point out that TV commercials by Big Tobakky does not represent the ONLY e-cigarette on the market today. While it does not matter - it is not because it "looks cool" that I do this; it is to stay away from the real deal. I also stressed that reducing nicotine was a priority and easily regulated by the user at their own pace and concluded with the "warnings" one would most likely never see on an e-cigarette product - such as we see on "Chantix":

Some people have had changes in behavior, hostility, agitation, depressed mood, suicidal thoughts or actions while using CHANTIX to help them quit smoking. Some people had these symptoms when they began taking CHANTIX, and others developed them after several weeks of treatment or after stopping CHANTIX. If you, your family, or caregiver notice agitation, hostility, depression, or changes in behavior, thinking, or mood that are not typical for you, or you develop suicidal thoughts or actions, anxiety, panic, aggression, anger, mania, abnormal sensations, hallucinations, paranoia, or confusion, stop taking CHANTIX and call your doctor right away. Also tell your doctor about any history of depression or other mental health problems before taking CHANTIX, as these symptoms may worsen while taking CHANTIX.

I REALLY WANNA STUFF CHANTIX IN MY MOUTH!:D:ohmy:

I would have liked to be a part of the up close and personal part of the survey but alas....It is just to far away from where I live. Hopefully the information they are gathering will let the "powers that be" know that they are fighting against something that shouldn't be fought against.

I know I'm dreaming but a girls gotta have her dreams. :D

Done. Sure wish I could partake in their lab study!

Folks ........... it said it can be done locally as well. No guarantee...... but perhaps. So I said 'OK'. Blood can be drawn anywhere and the scans as well; instantaneous transmission right to their lab.

Perhaps you can Help Me out Don.

What is the Purpose of this Penn State Survey?

Well..... if the info is to be believed: "Title of Project: Examining the psychological and biological effects associated with the use of electronic cigarette devices". You can take a gander via the link on Page One - Post #1.

** For me ...... the "device" does nothing ....... the 'juice' did the trick!:D Well that and being so busy reading up on the "tools" everyone else uses kept my mind off the real deal and suddenly almost two whole months without firing off a smoke.

I've only killed six batteries, three dozen coils, twenty bottles of juice, nine puppies, six cats, a bird, four elephants, two nurses, one therapist and a parole officer. Other than that "psychologically" I am sound as a rock! Biologically? I'm still a little shaky and some say I'm ......"sick".;)

I believe it is truly informational and depends on truthful folks giving truthful answers.

Purpose of the Study: The purpose of this online survey is to improve our understanding of the use of electronic cigarettes (“e-cigs”), including the types of e-cigs people are using, how frequently they are used and whether or not they are being used to replace other types of tobacco use.

Benefits: You will not benefit directly from this research study.

The benefits to society include developing a better understanding of the factors that may contribute to cigarette smoking behavior, as well as the collection of information that may be useful for assisting people who are trying to quitting smoking.

We have to place trust somewhere; better here than the FDA or some Obama appointed panel of 'experts' who answer only to the almighty dollar. We have enough of those already.

I'm Not Really Concerned with whether People give Truthful Answers or Not. I am More Interested is Who and How the Survey Results are going to be Used.

It would be an Ironic Twist if the Results of something Like this was used at the FDA Level to Justify Stricter Regulations than were Already being Proposed.

Not Saying that this Will Happen. Just Not Quite sure if what will be Done with the Survey Results.

Good or Bad.

Completed. I also explained that it's different that smoking 'traditional cigarettes'. And what this survey doesn't seem to get is that most of us serious vapers don't have just one "e-cig". In many ways, vaping strikes me more like pipe-smoking. Think about it; does anyone know a pipe smoker that has just one pipe and just one kind of pipe tobacco?

I figure that the chance to participate in any survey gives us a chance to let people know how we have benefited from these devices, and why they have helped as opposed to NRTs or cigalikes.

It seems like the more people we can tell our stories to, the more support we will have for our case. I just find it unfortunate that the government probably cares more about their wallets than our health.

I wish I was closer to PA, because I would have loved to participate in the survey.

Good answer! :) Collecting PVs and flavors really is a lot like a pipe smoker.

Ta da:

Yeah; it's the disposable ecigs which most are alike cigarettes, but a rebuildable tank system with a mod (with 18xxx batteries) is most closely in concept like a PIPE. Those silly epipe things merely are cosmetic imitations of tabacco pipes, but the concept of the pipe is you get your simple raw materials, put it in the pipe, and use it; all you have to do with the pipe is to CLEAN it sometimes.
