Lol Ben, even if you did buy from vape Escape via online, you would get what you ordered next day :) I often worry that I recommend Jason at Vape Escape too often as I know there are so many other good UK e-cig suppliers, but his customer service is second to non. here is a link to his website & shop address & opening times -

Contact Us - Electronic Cigarettes | Vaping Devices | Accessories | E-Liquid

And please also check out some of the many other excellent UK e-cig suppliers from this list -

Don't give up, its a process. I struggled for a long time because I could not find something that felt right in my hand. I kept going back to analogs. Finally I found and ordered a wimpy v103 and used the closest thing I could find, asking around, to the taste I was used to. I still switched off quite a bit through the day until I realized the tobacco tase without the burning part was better. It's only been recently when I got frustrated with the battery life and " wimpiness" of the v103 that I could switch to an 808. For what it's worth maybe try to mimic your analogs for a while. I know that's not the advice of most veteran vapors and I will probably upgrade again, but it's the only thing that helped me. I still struggle with feeling weird around my family because analogs were my private rebellion for so long. " I'm a grownup and will do anything I want." They are supportive of my vaping and I think the rebellion thing is kind of stupid. Still it's there. Good luck! Hopefully we can all pull out of this.

This coupled with my now broken SD mod helped me get off analogues for ages, but i accidently flooded the battery and had no replacement devices hence why i went back to analogues!

Got's to have backup's, batt's, atties, cartos, clearos, juice etc. whatever you're using you got to have backup's. Vaping takes a little more planning and forward thinking you need to order supplies in advance (when you are low & before you run out) as there are not many shops you can go to buy what you need and afterhours spot are non existant. If you're out and about alot you have to make sure you have charged batt's, good atties (or whatever), tank topped off if you use one and e-liquid if you don't. Remember cigs are very convenient all you need is a lighter and a cig and pack brings 20 and you can get them pretty much anywhere anytime. Find what you like and then get backups. Good luck to you if you stay determined I'm sure you will be successful.

Benjamin -

I am so impressed with you, young man. That was a courageous and extremely well-written first post that made it very clear to me that you're a high-quality individual with a lot of heart, and one that old miss what's-her-name was a fool to pass up. Just as some people prefer Thomas Kincaide to Pablo Picasso, Mantovani to Mozart, and Wrestlemania to the Bolshoi, I picture your ex- with a tatooed biker who operates a .... lab and treats her like rubbish. If you haven't already, you'll soon enough reach the point at which you'll be astounded that you felt such loss, and are thrilled that she chose to go away of her own volition.

You are now about to have your life become much, much better. Vaping will be a part of that, and you now have a whole bunch of new friends to help you get the maximum enjoyment out of it with the fewest wasted pounds.

I was particularly struck by this bit:

"Due to this i could no longer vape, i found my self craving a cig everytime i wanted to vape, it was horrible.. It didnt please me, i hated the taste of my vape the smell and even the look i got so insecure that i couldnt even go out into town with my PV because i got insecure of the people looking at me!"

Wait until you see what you have in store for you. Vaping with the right gear and the right juices is far, far more pleasurable to me than smoking ever was. I often say that smoking will just fall away naturally like leaves from the trees in the fall, because vaping is simply more enjoyable, and most of the human beings I've encountered prefer the more pleasurable to the lesser so. I used to say that if there were a heaven [wildly unlikely], I'd be perfectly content to smoke cigarettes and drink Coca-Cola for all of eternity. Now, if given a choice between smoking and vaping, I would choose vaping faster than an angel could pluck a middle C. So many wonderful flavors to experience, in infinite variety, in any level of nicotine, including zero if you want. Impossible to beat, except for the most stupid and/or stubborn.

And please don't give a rat's ... what anyone thinks of your vaping. As my Mom used to say, "PNA"; Pay No Attention. You're too young to remember Rick "Ricky" Nelson, but he had a very big hit toward the end of his too-short career called "Garden Party" that contains the refrain "you can't please everyone, so you've got to please yourself". And as a side note, there aren't many women who think badly of a guy who does his thing without worrying what other people think about it. Plus, you're going to be in the enviable position of being one of the "early adopters" of vaping in your area, and you're going to be helping countless people, many of whom will just happen to be attractive young ladies, learn all about this stuff and get off of the ciggies. The odds are good that some will express their gratitude in ways that will be even more enjoyable than vaping Geoff's Blend at 5V on a fresh 2.5 carto.

You're about to embark on the best chapters of your life, and all you have to do is allow it. We ourselves are usually the limiting factor in achieving happiness. Abraham Lincoln simply put it that "most folks are as happy as they make up their minds to be".

I'll leave you with this, for now:

Ricky Nelson - Garden Party - YouTube

Listen to Ricky, and see if he seems to give a crap what anyone else thinks about what he does.

And as someone else said, you're among friends here. Collectively we can help you reach your goals - vaping and otherwise.

Go get 'em, mate.

First off, welcome to ECF!

Secondly, there's a lot of good advice above. I'll try not to repeat most of it, so if I don't comment on all your stuff... please excuse me. That said, I'll try to add some personal observations that may help with the transition from "stinkies" to e-cigs.

1) There is a definite withdrawal period from tobacco... even while using nicotine. It seems to vary quite a bit from person to person. Lasted 2 or 3 weeks for me. Some mild depression is normal during this time since the MAOI effects of tobacco are no longer there. There's also 1000's of other chemicals "missing" or largely absent from e-cigs.

2) Some people find that snus, WTA, or other such replacements are necessary. I'd suggest trying to transition without them 1st. However, search for snus or WTA if you wish.

3) It doesn't have to be an "all or nothing" switch over. Many people use e-cigs and smoke. Eventually, they usually give up the stinkies, but it's still a bit of a fight. Think of it as "every cig avoided is a win". You'll read a lot of posts "I quit on day one, blah, blah." Good for them, but that's not for everyone.

4) A good setup helps. Your kit looks fine. This will take some time and trial. Also, you have to "get good at it" with whatever gear you have.

5) There is a bit of a "detox" associated with quitting tobacco. Kind of a "cold", sinus, thing... for many. Should only last a few weeks. These are your mucus membranes getting back to normal, and adjusting to the e-juice.

Good luck, and stick with it!!!

Another thought....

Sometimes it helps a little bit to "cop an attitude". Smokers are "leaf burners". lol. They smoke "stinkies". lol. They spend more $$$. lol. Smoking is "soooo last century" lol.

Like that. ;)

Of course, you don't have to be snobby to THEM, unless they get in your face about it. But, it does help to remember the above if you get any crap.

I don't give smokers a hard time, hell, I smoked for about 30 years. However, I'm trying for the "harm reduction" thing and to make a positive move for my health. I have to say, I've had more positive comments about vaping than negative ones. Maybe the "social programming" and high taxes have helped us here in the states, IDK.

Hey Benjamin, hope things are starting to look up for you. I just quit a couple of weeks ago, so my advice may be a little limited but you've got a nice collection of gear.

I can understand the social stigma of using a PV in public, some people, simply can't get their mind out of the gutter. The fact that you have a few 510s might help. Since they can look more like a cigarette most people won't notice. It might hepmtoncarry those around for social engagements and situations and just enjoy the ego when you feel more comfortable with the device. It's one of the reasons I chose an 808d device to begin with: most people won't notice until they get closer. I tend to act just like if it was a cigarette - which might not help the greater awareness cause but definitely attracts less stares from people.

Just keep with it. Maybe nicotine content is a factor. Maybe it's more the hand to mouth action of a normal cigarette thats the key. Explore your options and find something comfortable.

B-man! You're over half way there...you want to stop. The rest will follow.

I love stealth vaping. I vape laying next to my wife when we're watching TV at night, other than that, I keep it to myself. It does look "different" and I just don't need the hassle. If I see a smoker, sometimes I'll vape in front of them and if they ask, I tell them how great it is. : )

Enjoy!

P.S. If you haven't already....try starting your day with vaping, rather than smoking....makes the vape much more satisfying.

1st of all, im a long time lurker but i believe this may possibly be my 1st time posting here although i've been browsing this forum for about 2 years.

Ok, Well a long story cut short, i tried e cigs a while ago it started with with a m401 kit , carto's carts and several cheap ecigs off dealextreme, it served me well for around a year up until i had a disastrous break up which dragged out over around 5 months and really sent my mental health into a real spiral, caused me to get paranoia, depressive, i'd spend all my money wanting to smoke and drink more and i lost around 3 stone, and i'm not exactly a fat bloke anyway so that was possibly the worst thing of all of it!:(

Due to this i could no longer vape, i found my self craving a cig everytime i wanted to vape, it was horrible.. It didnt please me, i hated the taste of my vape the smell and even the look i got so insecure that i couldnt even go out into town with my PV because i got insecure of the people looking at me!

A year on and im still smoking to this day, i've tried stopping 3 times, i've used patches, gum (refuse to take tablets, someone i know had a bad experience and nearly killed them selves yeah// dont take champix its the devils tablet:evil:!!) and nothing works, i still seem to end up turning back to my good ol' trusty rollups!

I WANT TO STOP AGAIN NOW!!:glare:

I've began to start buying my self a new kit and bulking up for when i originally start to switch, i still havent got round to really stopping yet, i've cut down a hell of a lot though, i used to smoke around 20 a day and i've cut down to around 3-5 but still cant seem to make that final switch! My kit currently consists of
3 x 501 Standard batterys (small cig shaped style)
1 x V.V Ego T
30 x Boge Cartomizers
All my liquid i have atm, Its all VG (sensitivity to PG i think so i stopped it straight away)
1 x 30ml PG Strawberry Eliquid High MG from DX.com
1 x 30ml RY4 from liberty flights]
1 x 50ml Dekang ry4
1 x 10ml Caramel apple pie (tried it on my m401 and hated it)
1 x 30ml Green Cow from liberty flights
and some giant carto' tank style things, some clearomizers ect ect.

Now i've got my kit sorted im determined to get my head around my phobia of how other people perceive me for smoking my PV, I go to college and i'm about to start university this year. I must be the only young adult old who actually wants to stop smoking let alone has tried an e - cig! young people think of it as weird, and as you probably know, when your around my age what people think about you is EVERYTHING! (yeah, sounds terrible i know!)
Now the issue i have is that people always look down on me when smoking it, they either think im some sort of crack head or think im doing some other illegal activity. I've even been stopped by the police on one occasion because apparently what i was "smoking, smelt funny". I've never really been a self conscious person but after everything that happened over the last year i still suffer with a slight case of paranoia and cant seem to get my head around getting a device out in public. I get scared and worried. How do you guys deal with it?

Anyhow, i just need some advice off you guys as what to really do?
How did you find the best way to quit ?
And what do you guys think of my setup to quit with? Remember im a student so i cant really afford expensive devices (as much to the believe that all students are well off, i'd like to diffe;)r)

Oh and i'd also like to say thank you for all the help i've got from this community in the past few years with directions on where to go with my vaping experience, i may not have posted much but i've been lurking a long time!

My 2cents worth: When I was jonesing really bad (and now when I do) I would drip 36mg tobacco flavor e-juice. It seemed to simulate an analog well and helped (helps) me when I get that really bad urge for an analog. I must say that the urge to smoke and analog is much less since I quit analogs altogether. I recommend finding some strong nic juice in a flavor that you really like and dripping it when the urge is at its height; for what it's worth this has worked for me. Hang in there.

Believe it or not i actually used to do this!

Just waiting for my last bit of kit to arrive which will take around 2 more weeks, (ordered from health cabin, didnt realise it was in china!!) But as soon as its here im ditching my cigs and then i'll finally be off the smokes for good!:2cool:

Sounds good. I offer this for your consideration: go slowly. I smoked 10 analogs (or less) for about a month before I just woke up one day and said, "I think I'll try to go analog free today." The first day was the toughest. My thoughts were even if I smoked 10 analogs, every day from now on, and vaped along with it I was still way ahead of the curve. I'm glad you're familiar with the drip technique I posted about. All I know is that for me it made all the difference.

I got down to about 4 cigarettes a day with my cheap ecig. I bought a halo g6, a kGo, and on my way to order a Hello Jewels. I definitely have enough stuff and juice laying around now to make it without. I had one cigarette with my husband this morning before he went to work and I sent him with a purple G6 (hee hee). I'm not buying any more cigarettes no matter what. I know we can do it this time.

Don't beat yourself up. If you absolutely have to have an analog, go have one. Once you get your perfect setup, you'll realize how nasty they taste and crave some yummy juice to vape instead.

My advice is simple because I was kind of in the same boat, I tried the ecig thing a couple years ago and it was not working for me because they were weak and was not giving the kick of a real cig. If you still find it tough and want to be done with the ciggys, get a provari or "true vv device" crank it up to 5volts with a good 24mg tobacco or menthol juice with a boge 3 ohm carto and cravings will be gone!!!...good luck

Hi Benjamin

I have only been vaping for a few weeks, and i was lucky enough that i stopped smoking 2 packs a day immediately so i may not be able to give you much advice but i do vape at university.

I started off with a lookalike with high nic juice (especially first thing in the morning) and initially i used it like a cig this made me feel a bit more relaxed about the switch. When i started vaping at university i just made to sure to mention it to anyoen and everyone who would listen starting with the phrase 'wow i've managed to stop smoking using this amzing bit of tech', which made everyone be incredibly supportive of my switch to vaping. Now that i am using something thats not so obvious, they all know what i am doing and don't really pay much attention.

If you feel really self conscious about vaping you could try holding it as if you were carrying a pen and stealth vaping, it works for me when i use it on public transport or in bars :)
