I have only one positive thing to say about the clones. I personally started with an eGo kit and a Vivi Nova copy. When I realized I'm going to stay a vaper for quite some time, I waited to accumulate enough funds and went for the real deal. If I hadn't had the cheap clones to use until I got enough money, I would've started smoking again. Copies are a good stepping stone. A gateway vape gear, if you will :)

The moment I got my first genuine piece of gear I never bought another clone. Resellers are keeping the clone industry alive. That and the consumerist mentality of "now, now, now; gimme, gimme, gimme".

Good point. We (my wife & I) went through the usual evolution of ecigs - store bought cig look a likes, cartridge "sticks", egos, PV's, VV's, etc. In the beginning we didn't want to shell out a lot of $$ for something that might not get us off "analogs". There were a few battery knockoffs in the process that actually melted the charger on about the 5th recharge and ego C attys that never worked - lesson learned. Now that I know what works and what to be leery of I'll always buy original or U.S made equipment and juice (DIY or otherwise). The downside is that with so many players in the game now and with many more sure to show up, it's difficult to weed out the clones from those making a quality product.

I got the Tatroe Tank ordered. Its actually gonna be here Monday if all goes as planned with the PO. Thanks to everyone who posted that. I kinda dig my evod. Problem is I dont have a protank yet lol. They were out of stock to add the base and heads on the site which is kinda a bummer. Cant wait for that thing, looks cool. Even got a BDS60 to put on it. I guess now I need a new pipe :p

Chezz is in Malaysia, we do not sell there or to the Phillipines due to a string of fraudulent transactions that cost many companies (including us) tens of thousands in chargebacks. It's not an issue of shipping, it's a problem with false fraud claims that we unfortunately have no way to dispute.

I also hate that Matt's and some others original designs were copied like that. Shame. Just come up with your own way to make your pipe or mod work. Its just pathetic really.

Speaking of pathetic, there is a pipe maker out there that outright solicited me only to bash Matt and epipemods after I posted a pipe pic on Facebook. He went on and on. This one comment in particular was priceless. One of his biggest gripes with Matt was that he cares too much about safety. LOL. He really said those exact words lol. Holy crap, really dude, was went through my mind. He said he spends full days gutting Matts pipes for people so that he can put them back together to make them work property. Basically he takes the vapesafe out so people can do super low ohm coils without the voltage loss EPM pipes have from the circuitry. Ya know what, I whole heartedly appreciate that someone has my safety in mind. Sad thing is I wanted one of this guys pipes and planned to get one but that went right out the window forever. Scumbag!

I was not aware that this was going on. I do believe I know who is being referred to here, but WOW. This guy is begging for a lawsuit. Not from me, but from the customer that chars his face using one of these unprotected devices.
Again though, People want what they want, and if this guy is willing to take the risk to give it to them, that's on him.
I DO NOT CONDONE THIS WHATSOEVER- If you modify your pipe and remove the vapesafe you are on your own. Don't come crying to me when something goes terribly wrong.

Trying to look at the bright side of things.

I know and agree. If you only you knew how many times I've heard that saying you would understand how I feel about it.

I don't see the fire in Patterson. I guess I'm just trying to Match the colors up. Black marble is probably the way I'm leaning right now. Thanks

I'm curious about what others have experienced at their local B&Ms. I started vaping in 09 on the joye 510 (I believe it was the precursor to the ego) and the internet was the only place I could buy any of the gear required. Due to the inherent nature of online shopping I naturally found myself relying on other customers, who were considerate enough to post videos and reviews, to inform me of what to buy and how to use it. End of prologue

There are 3 shops here in San Diego and they're all branches of the same company. I don't know if it's appropriate to name the company but I'm sure a "something" search would reveal it. It's natural to be vexed sometimes by the postal service so I started to go to the shop in town for new atomizers and such. I've never been to a B&M other than the ones run by this company but I'm sure the variety of clientele are of the same elements and some of those are people who need all the information that people like me already got online.

It boils down to this. The storefront is different things to different people, even the owner and his employees and because of this it's my least favorite place in the city. I can imagine how difficult it would be to manage a place like that and I'm wondering if any of the stores you guys go to actually do it well. This place definitely doesn't lack for customers and profit but the place is a madhouse. After maybe a dozen or so visits when I was in a "buy a 306 and a bottle of juice then rinse and repeat" phase I've since resigned myself to ordering online only. I'm just wondering, does it have to be like this? Are they all the same due to the inherent vice of the business?

Matt, I've been looking at the Peterson stems to go with the fire in the sky acrylic. I know that colors can be deceiving through the interweb and was wanting your opinion what color goes best with it. So far my choice would be to go with the tortoise shell but like I said sometimes its hard to trust pictures. Thanks

The caramel might be a good match too...

There are no shops near me so it's hard for me to comment. I would say this is probably a management issue...
It's easy to skate by with certain questionable practices when you are the only game in town. I think that is just a matter of integrity.

I wasnt a big fan of the protank...I am using the 1.8 replacement coils on the tatroe tank...I think the tatroe works better than the protank....I have my tatroe with a bds60 and I im loving it...very clean and smooth taste....

I would like to address the removal of the vapesafe issue one more time in more graphic and vivid detail.

This Message will hopefully be read by MFS, you know who you are.

Aside from Chinese Pipes and possibly the Jazz, all the current pipe switch designs out there either use magnetic resistance or a hot spring (at least I hope MFS uses hot springs). Most mechanical tube mods have an "open default position", meaning if the mod is shorted the natural state of the switch is an open circuit, no power is going through unless the user depress's the switch. The problem with mechanical pipes is that once a short has occurred the switch collapses. Either due to the hot spring collapsing or magnetic discharge due to over heating the magnets. This leaves your pipe in a closed circuit state. Meaning that the mod is continuously firing. Having a closed circuit situation with a switch in a constant "on" state is the worst possible scenario. It WILL lead to venting and explosion.
This is an inherent flaw in pipe switch designs. This is also why a VapeSafe MUST be used.

The danger is clear, the liability is clear, do what you will.

You have two kinds of B&Ms, a store and a lounge. A store is just that while the lounge encourages customers to sit and talk, oftem selling drinks as well as vaping goods. Lounges tend to be friendlier places while shops are more "go in buy and get out". Lounge owners also tend to be more into the vaping experience and run more relaxed places. There is a shop in Indy that I stopped in once...the owner was not very knowledgeable and selection was limited except for juice. They wanted you to buy and get out.

Some places are in it strictly for the money, others really like vaping and the vaping community and run their shops accordingly.

Since personal harm is obviously not a concern to anyone that removes the vapesafe, perhaps the risk of harm to others might. let go of the "it won't happen to me" attitude and educate yourself.

All it will take is some idiot blowing their face off before legislation comes down against all mods, not just pipes. There are already battles all over the world right now regarding liquid sales and, in some countries, mods.

Please look beyond the nose on your face and see what could happen before you do something that can endanger the entire community (and those adjacent to it... spouses, children, etc.).

Don't give lawmakers a reason to destroy something that has helped so many people quit smoking (not to mention those business owners/creators that would be at a complete loss).

Well stated abs, and surprise, surprise EPM will have a lounge :)

You obviously have more interest in the vaping community than just the money aspect, I imagine your shop will be a very pleasant place to visit and your customers will feel comfortable there. I doubt I will ever get there to visit but I am sure your customers will enjoy the experience in you shop.

That makes perfect sense. I'd bet most users who are familiar with mech mods are just assuming that their inherent open protection is there on a pipe, too.

...

On an older topic, since I'm catching up after a week because of being on vacation (cut short, but still a good break). I picked up a Terminator a while ago (the Killer clone). I was so unhappy with the build quality I didn't touch it. The end where the drip tip goes in was slightly caved. I bent it to shape as best I can but it shreds o-rings. Whatever caused that also deformed the 510 seal. Had I just plugged it into a mod it would have been horrible as it was shorting out. I took it all apart and did repeated tests with my multimeter to make sure the short was gone (had to reseat the external 510 rubber isolator and the internal isolator as well).

$13 for that is more than it was worth, especially with the obvious chrome (I hate chrome inside a tank). I'll be firing it up just to see how the design performs ... but only after maniacally looking for shorts again. And then only to learn about the Killer design. I'm sure for any units that were undamaged the Terminator works fine and dandy. I just don't like dealing with products that are so cheaply done.

...

My Divers came in while I was gone. So did my Venus (which yep, is a Vision Eternity clone ... oh well ... I had already ordered it and it was shipped before I saw that note ... at least the build quality is good). So did my brass RBA. Oh boy. Going to be a long day of tearing apart and rebuilding :) But after the road trip I don't think I can deal with Gennies for multiple hours in a car every day for a couple of weeks as my next trip will be. I've got a couple of VPX SS tanks coming in and they'll probably ride with Divers on my Atmizoo mods ... and the brass RBA on my pipe ... and the Venus as a backup / flavor changer

...

Last ... any word on the Crown and ePipes? I'm assuming based on the video I watched about the Crown that it will only work in 18500 sized pipes (with 18350 + Crown). I was actually hoping this would be a booster that sits on the threads like the Ego Booster. Wondering how things are progressing on this front. Some juices just like to be a bit warmer ... and rebuilding gennies on a road trip for a new juice just isn't happening :) For now I'm good with ego twists and other VV options and forgoing my pipes while traveling (I usually use my little Dublin as a dripper in the car), but I really do prefer the pipe feel.

Went with the blue marble smoke. Will post pictures when I get it setup as well as announce the name that BJ picked out for him. I felt bad for sniping it for him so I gave him the honor of naming it.

What part of Georgia are you in Matt? My brother lives in Statesboro and I would like to check out your lounge when it gets up and running.
