Even though I have no experience with a Zen product, I have heard folks initially complain about how light the draw is, but most seem to come to love it. I've felt the same way about my rba's. When I first got the Chalice I opened it up a little after after having it stock for just two days. A couple of weeks later I opened it up even more. When I got the ERA's they felt almost unbearable tight to me. I've since opened them up to about the same size as on the Chalice (I used a file so I can't give accurate hole sizes) and I feel flavor and vapor production are just spectacular.

What is the stock drill hole size on the ERA? I feel like i need to open mine up a bit. I got awesome results on the drip ERA but with the BF ERA i am not getting as good a result. The vapor is like it is way too rich and i am not getting anywhere near the vapor that i am seeing in the videos on the forum. HELP???

I opened mine to 1/16, with a drill bit and my hand drill, holding the ERA cup in my hand... just lubed it up with a drop of juice.

Lubed what, the drill bit or the ERA cup? I have a battery operated hand drill, so that's not a problem, but i think I'd like to start with a smaller hole and graduate id necessary. Thanks for any more info, Muriarte.

I rested the bit on the hole, placed a drop of liquid where it met the ERA and started drilling slowly.

3/64 is a good place to start but that size drill bit can be very hard to find. On the other hand you can't swing a dead cat without hitting a 1/16th size bit. (I can't imagine going bigger than that.) Use bits designed for hard metal. Irwin makes a very good Cobalt bit.

I agree, I was looking for a 1/64 bit or 3/64, but couldn´t find one, so I used a Bosch 1/16 bit. It is a big hole, and at first I thought I had screwed up the ERA, but it is growing on me... Lots and lots of vapor.

Sorry Long Haul, that is the best I could do with my phone. It's pretty simple, just about a 1/4 inch of rolled SS 400 mesh, 4 wraps of Kanthal 32awg. I tilt the wick/coil upward at about a 45 degree angle and let the end of the mesh touch the floor of the atty.

I really like the idea of this setup. I just got my ERA in the mail and am trying to figure out an awesome setup because I'm not getting the flavor or TH I thought I would with the silica. This seems easy to do ...time to order some SS mesh. Is the 400 better than the 325?
