Mine got here....despite my horrible wire and silica robe skills, I am vaping clouds- plumes of vapor!!! I am sort of still not understanding what they mean by the hole being pointed towards the wire...there is a bottom feed hold on the center post- it doesn't matter which side you put the wire, so I figure that one doesn't matter. I guess they mean the hold on the cover.

Wayne- what's your take on this? Also, if I screw the atty down all the way, the draw is very very tight...I really wish they had given this one the other hole, or was it 2 more holes? Of course, I suppose you could drill another hold out, but it's tempered steal from what I understand- would be very hard to do so.

The hole in the top cap should be positioned close to the coil if you want more vapor than throat hit, further away if you want more throat hit, less vapor. Seems to be one leg up for the Chalice since you can set it up with the coil right in the middle so the air hole is always equidistant from the coil.

Since the air is coming from the hole in the top cap I can't see why screwing it down further increases the stiffness of the draw. I would suspect it all has to do with the placement of the air hole in relation to the coil.

FWIW - I did end up opening the air hole in my Chalice just a bit. Used a pointed cylindrical file and just kept at it for a while just enough to remove a very thin layer of material, but the difference is significant.

I think it draws less air because when you screw it down it is tight in the catch cup of my VV Woodvil...it does better on my Grand. A disappointment (despite the description saying it would work), the ERA does not screw down far enough to make contact on the center pin of my Minis so it won't work on my minis, mini wooedvils or my 18490...so the only mods I can use it with are my Grand and VV Woodvil

Oh, and you can't see the juice to do a regular squonk so only blind squonking works but it is totally different- something I'm gonna have to get used to.

Over-all impressions:
1. I like it!!
2. I need to get better at making the coils.
3. I'm not sure how much of the wick to trim off...I certainly don't need a ball of it inside the cover, sittiing on the Reo..like you might want on some other mods.
4. Should have bought those fancy (what they called) bamboo drip tips- would have rounded out the ERA's look. Still with a nice trippy it does look nice!

Okay...I'm using mine and I just proved that you can flood it.:facepalm: I juiced it...and it quit producing, so I guess I squonked too hard. Fair warning, if you blow in through the drip tip, the juice will come out the side hole. Also, if there is enough juice in the atty, if you vape it with the hole side pointing downwards or at least in that general direction....it will gurgle and the vape practically disappears. So, don't over juice it and vape so the hole is at least pointing sideways or upwards. Of course....I could just be doing it all wrong. cuz I'm a noobie.

The draw is going to take some getting used to...it's okay....pretty airy. And I even found that when you twist the top too much, the wick covers the air hole...making the draw non-existent. Okay...back to playing.

Oh...and in case you're wondering if I read up on it before using it...the answer is obviously no.

Haha...almost the same here- I did read up on it, but forgot most of what I read...It does produce tons of vapor.
I was already running low on AVE Juice- I may have to slow things down a bit or I'll be in a nic comma too.

I've flooded mine too. Best I've worked out so far is squonk it good and then let it rest for a bit. The excess juice goes back in the bottle.

What's throwing me off is the count....I can't tell how many vapes I can get before I need to juice it again. I know the catch cup is full right now...so I'm being careful not to tip it too far or anything...but it seems like the juice level isn't going down in the cup. I wonder if I have a slight auto feed event occurring. :?:

I can kind of tell by the taste of mine when it's getting ready to need another squonk. It seems like there's just a barely noticeable change right before it runs dry. I've learned to pay attention to that change the hard way.

We have a casualty. I bought 3 of them and one of them does not seat down into the grand. The threads are messed up on it. It leaves about an 1/8 inch gap open. It seems like it might be OK to use in a woodville though since those have a higher catch cup. It will feed juice through it, but with the gap on the grand it's going to leak. Bummer.

Perhaps you could clean up the threading with one of these?
