Got my ERA yesterday...This thing is a winner in my book. Tons of vapor. I set it up using the 3mm Ody wick and 5 wraps of 34 NiChrome on my Kicked Grand set to 10 watts. I noticed it didn't seat to well in the Grand...a little wobbly. I put a small oring over the 510 connecter and it's rock solid now. Draw is perfect for me.

Perhaps you could clean up the threading with one of these?

Mud, I don't think that would work....That connection is turned, I doubt the die would cut far enough to correct the threads. Maybe, but I don't think so. You might be better off trying to screw a Stainless adapter in the ERA to try and correct the threads. You follow?

What is it and what do I do with it?

strprswpr is much more knowledgeable about this sort of thing, Valerie. Perhaps if you bat your eyelashes at him, he can help you tweak the threads on your ERA.

I haven't received mine yet, so my suggestion was just a shot in the dark.

Looks great. DO you stuff all of that wick in the cap or did you trim it first before putting the cap on?

I kinda pull those loops over one and other, then work the cap on....There's enough room for all of it. After the cap is on I take a toothpick and push the wick off to the side so I can get a clear view of the coil. Position the air hole and vape my brains out....lol

You could send it to me....I'll see what I can do to fix it. I can't redo the threads on my lathe, but I might be able to use a thread file to fix it.

I think for this particular RA....the more wick you use, the better. You stand a much less risk of flooding if you use more wick. The Chalice is impossible to flood as the excess juice is sucked back into the bottle. Not the case with The ERA. The juice does NOT get sucked back into the bottle. So I say pack the wick in. That's what I did and no flooding at all. Squonk every couple drags and it's great. I always loved Reo's but never could use them because I would always flood the atty....no matter how hard I tried. The ERA has helped me to be able to finally use a Reo....Finally!

Ok, SS mesh not a great idea, however I am coming from a genesis mod, so a little uncertain on other wick materials. Have read a bit that silca will kill you with black lung or such, is cotton a candidate for this?

Don't know about cotton, but it can't be any worse than the damage I've done to myself from smoking 3 packs of cigs a day for the past 25 years.

Each and every ready made atomizer (chinese or otherwise) will have some amount of glass fiber wick. And that would be the cheap stuff, not the high quality material used by repairables. I think the only atomizer without glass in it is the AVA. And as far as I can tell you, it costs an arm and a leg, and it sucks as an atomizer for e-liquid.

*irony alert*
If you want to panic over something, panic over the rust you inhale from a Genisis atty (sorry raidy)
*irony off*

WOW, just got finished setting up a ERA at 1.2 oHm and slammed on my Grand. :) this is nice.

Used the wick and wire that came with it. 4 layers wick 2-3 wraps wire. On the meter is read 1.1-1.2

Running IMR 18650 2000 mAh battery will run this in tell the battery drops off to see how many ML of juice I can get out of one battery before I need to change the battery.

Thank you so much for the offer. I noaloxed the treads last night and let it sit. This morning I've been slowly working it on and off of some cheap mods I don't give a crap about. It's fitting much better now. It will now thread on 2 of the 3 Grands I've got here. So, I'm pretty happy with that.

I got my bottom fed era in the mail today and am sad... first off it wont fit at all in my reo 18490... im guessing the well and connector are too deep for it.. and then i put it on my reo mini and it wont fire, it fires on my lavatube, so im guessing its the connector on my mini.. i put a 510-510 adaptor on it, and it works on my mini, but looks ridiculous, anybody else get one that works on a 18490 reo?

Can you take a close up pic of the 510 connection on the ERA?

Really not panicking. I have choked down enough poison in these 59 years to guarantee myself a few rough years as this body moves forward. I am just trying to minimize the event, or forestall for as long as possible. However, I think I would prefer rust over glass shards. Really, I am thinking of coiling a hybrid like ss mesh rolled round the silka, might work, and the coils would be on the mesh. Didn't mean to offend, just researching before I get my ERA.
