Thanks for the tip. That worked, but it's ugly!

I guess that helps justify a purchase I made last night of a turtle ship v2 clone on eBay! ; ) I love the form factor of tube mods (this is my first, and I like the design of the v2), and I liked the idea of getting something that could go real small. Hopefully, the 510 connector in it will work with the erlk.

It should :). I've run my Erlks on mechs.

The best spacer I ever built was from a standard servo arm. I then just sanded it down to about 0.8mm so that the 510 connector pin would be almost fully compressed when the body touches the mod. Impossible to get a better connection without solder [emoji14]

I had difficulty getting with the short 510 positive pin in my istick50. I tried the credit card positive post spacer trick (used two pieces), which seemed to help a little, but resistance reading is jumping around. I double checked the connection of my coil, which seemed fine. Is the jumping around because of the connection to the I stick?
Resistance jumping around is often caused by the positive post not being screwed in tight, especially likely with spacers added. Be sure that it is tight.

I put an extra 3 mm silicone ring in the 510 of the erl. It forces the positive screw out 1 mm. Works like a charm.

I got a few circuit board spacers from MadVapes--just drop one into the 510 well of your mod and voila! All connectivity problems solved. Doesn't get any easier than that:

Connect the mod via the 510-Ego adapter included with your iStick. If the connection problems go away, then your issues are probably due to the spring-loaded 510 connector in the iStick.

I was looking more closely at my istick, and yes, there is a problem with the 510 connector. It's stuck and doesn't pop back up. : (

Just havin' some fun ;)

Some people are wound up just a bit too tight. The same type of people are joining the DNA200 threads preaching doom'n'gloom like a Jehovah's witness about the evils of Satan... er... Lipo batteries. I've been very close to un-subscribing to those threads.

yeah I was reading that, wow them lipo's are like nukes :pop:

Some people there are overstating the dangers, other people are completely blowing them off due to rampant fanboyism in the thread. The primary thing one should be concerned about is whether a mod protects the battery from impact/crush damage. So for me, that rules out the Opus 200, which has the 510 pin right up against the battery.

I was just teasing @Yozhik :D

Anyone know where i can pick up a clone, or an ErlPrinz?

Erlk clones are all over FastTech. Angelcigs keeps them in stock here in the States for $5. As for an ErlPrinz, VaporShark is the only States based merchant that I know keeps it in stock for $45... Good luck!

Thanks! Good reviews on the Angelcigs clones? That's pretty cheap. Also wondering if the nano kit would fit on the angelcig clone.

I put in my second coil build last night and thought I did a decent job with the wicking. Took a few pulls on it last night, and the flavor was good and it seemed to hit fine.
I left it on the istick and then took a few hits this morning while I was on a break. I left it on the istick on my desk and noticed in the afternoon that it had leaked all over the top of the istick. The leaking is coming from the bottom, where the 510 connector/afc ring is. I haven't had a chance to take it apart yet to figure out what's going on. Anyone have the same experience? Thoughts on what to look for and how to fix it?

I purchased a different Erlk clone from them that they don't carry any more. It was $20, shipped i believe... I have heard mostly good things about the $5 clones. A couple have received a tank that obviously slipped by quality control. But Angelcigs has great customer service and will take of you if this happens. I'm told the nano kit fits just fine. Where have you seen nano kits for sale? We can't find them anywhere...

Hi 3mhmama! I'm going to start with the stupid things first. No offense intended...

Make sure the the top and bottom o-rings are in place and the tank firmly installed. Make sure the o-rings around the top filler holes are in place, the top filler-ring closed and snugly tightened. I have forgotten to close the filler ring after filling and have lost have a tank of e-liquid. I would seriously make sure the tank was sealed up tight. You should not have lost that much e-liquid unless the tank lost vaccuum.

Was your rig sitting in the sun while on your desk? The Erlk, like most RTAs, can be fussy about getting too hot (or too cold in the winter).

Ultimately, the wicking is going to be your lifesaver against leaks. Have you checked the build links toward the beginning of the thread?

ETA: Here's cloudhunter's original diagram which is what put me on the right track...

Good luck!

There's a trick for keeping the Erli's performance till she's nearly dry. In the picture below I marked the important buid details and you'll see why:

MkT6IUPnvB.jpg

With the above method, you won't need to thicken your wick inside the channel. Lay the "buffer-wick" (which runs through the coil) on top of the channels openings inside the dome and try to find the optimal size for it in a way, that the lateral side of the buffer-wick also touches the inside wall of the dome (see red markings). There you have your "sealing"! OK, it doesn't seal the Erli for all times, but it gives you way much more time before too much liquid enters the dome. If you have too much of this buffer-wick you will fail because when screwing down the dome, you would cause an offset (due to friction) of the buffer-wick and that results in "opening" the juice channels again. That's the whole trick. OMG. I hope you can follow my explanation....sorry if that doesn't make sense^^ English isn't my mother language.

Cheers,
C H

EDIT: Oh, I forgot to mention, that with this setup you won't have to close the AFC while refilling! You have enough time to refill before the Erli gets flooded ;-)

Excellent on the nano kit fit! I would just get the kit from the OEM in Austria. That's the only place i'm seeing it.
