I got the clone on the silver box. I was expecting better, owning an Erlk and Erlp, I thought it was going to be more on par with the Erlp. Not even that, can't even close the top cap correctly since both o-rings are gigantic and just forces the top cap out... I'm yet to build on it but doesn't sound promising.
My clone had a much better finish than the Erlprinz. The threading is a hell of a lot smoother!

I only vape 80vg juice. I do not use the afc ring and also have the optional open draw posi pole holder installed on all of ErlKs. No issues with wicking at all. This is with both my Kanthal and Nickel builds. Currently vaping a Nickel build with a .27Ω coil at 25w and 500F today. No leaking, no gurgling, no popping, no dry hits. Just pure, unadulterated vapor. Loving it!

If thats the case, I obviously dont have the wicking down yet, because my high vg juices will not wick without closing off the afc, and above 20w seems to burn, so my wicking technique isnt soid yet :( the good news is that means this tank gets better.

I have vaped on this latest build solidly since last night with no more issues, getting the wick trimmed just right along with removing the feed ring was the key. Im loving this tank but I now have a few hair-line cracks in the tank but no leaks. Other than the glass tanks is there anywhere to buy just the tanks?

Yeah, I was thinking the same. It's definitely your wicking. I just rebuilt one of my authentics with Ni200. It says it is ohming out to .31. I'm currently vaping it at 26w and 500F. Still bumping up the wattage and the wicking is keeping up just fine with 80/20 Lemon Bar. So, so good.

Elanamylove sent me his silver box ft clone to try (thanks so much!). I can't budge that afc ring though. Dissappointed no extra post screws or o rings came with it. Those post screws are tiny so I'm guessing if I like it I will need to get some from the authentic site.

Damn nice of him. Kudos elanamylove.

Actually, the authentics do not come with any replacement parts but my clone in the OP came with all of it. Replacement o-rings and screws.

Yup, nail the wicking and you are golden. Congrats!

After sanding down the top cap for about half an hour it seems to fit the IBtank now. The only problem is that it's such a snug fit with the original o-rings that I can only unscrew the top cap with nose pliers now. I'll try changing the o-rings tonight and see if that helps. In the mean time I'm waiting for a cloned nano-kit :D

To be on topic, I gave up on the Erlk. Tried another build, all new coil and wick and different juice. It's not leaking but the popping is driving me nuts. I've been vaping on my KFL+ this evening and the flavor is just as good with more vapor (if you're into that), quiet and no popping.

    Hi :)

If the only thing bothering you now is the popping, may a suggest a different coil design?

If you have some 32 gauge kanthal, cut two strands of it and wrap both side by side on a 2mm Mandel like 6 times (you should count 12 wraps in the end).

This will put you at around 1.2 Ohms and a very very smooth vape. Personally I already said that I like the popping (as long as it doesn't rip a tooth out) so I abandoned that type of build and went for twisted coils (which pop a lot more than regulars).

About the sound... I agree. With the afc removed, I sound like darth Vader after a marathon but with the afc in place it's not too bad.

Do I like my erlprinz? I do. It has better flavor and more vapor than my kf ever did. I actually think it's too much. I feel ridiculous blowing 5x more vapor than normal analog smoke. Even in smoker friendly cafés, I worry not to bother other people and try taking small puffs but still I can see my vapor overwhelming other people's tables.

I really hoped you would like the atty but even if you don't, still friends? :)

so which clone is the one to get? I got several erlp's, and almost all of them are pretty bad. And the nano kit i got from erl only fits on 1 erlp, and it's a struggle to get on.
I think I got lucky again then. I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of mine. You can see machine marks on the top of the build deck but no where else. Threading is great and it has performed flawlessly.

I do admit that all these qc problems and apparent lack of interest by i2r in fixing this for the "poor" erlk offspring speaks against them as a company. It's almost like they want you to choke on the erlp because you couldn't or didn't want to shelve out for the erlk.. I really didn't like the way they said they would treat it and then see that they didn't. Unscrewable chimneys? That's not even qc by my book. That's not even opening the box that came from the factory and check basic functionality :|

There's a bunch of new ones hitting the market so it's hard to say but the silver box ones (I got mine from FT) seem to be good overall. My only issue was the chimney o-ring was too small (?) but adding a #60 o-ring fixed it.

I have another one coming from FC but it's been 3 weeks so who knows when I'll get that one.

I tried 2 different sizes, 2mm and 2.4mm. Raised and lowered them. Different juices. I had no issues with this type of coil on my KF's or dripper. My KF's are very smooth, not slurping, wet feeling or loud. When I first got it, it wasn't as bad but I was going thru about 30-50% more juice than on my KF's.

I really wanted to like this atomizer but so far, the cons far out-weigh the pros for me. I will try again later after my frustration subsides (and I want a challenge). For now, I'm happy with my KF's.

Why would we not be friends? Because you like inferior atomizers? :p

As wierd as this might sound, you probably dehydrated the plastic (alcohol attracts water) and it became brittle / wrinkled whatever. I use alcohol in all my attys except on the plastic parts.

Methanol alcohol doesn't have that problem to an extent but is far more dangerous to use in anything you're going to be sucking on afterwards.

It's OK to give a quick wipe with alcohol on plastic parts but, as you found out, soaking isn't a great idea.

Well, I've done it with 2 Rose clones, and 2 Kayfun clones, a Taifun clone, and the SquapeR clone...no issues with those.

    So I assume I can't use it?

And the IBtanked glass doesn't fit the ft silver box version?
I have no idea. I guess that as long as it isn't flaking or has cracks that would leak, it should work until you find a replacement.

About ibt, I don't have experience with those glass tanks. Some say it will fit tightly, others say it won't without some sanding on the atty's cap.
