Finally flipped the IBTanked glass on my silver box FT clone, and it fits perfectly now. Very happy.

When I had it the other way around, it was close. Enough that its been holding vacuum. I was thinking if I put a slightly smaller o ring on the top, that would take care of it. Consider stretching a 16x1 or 15x1 in place of the 17x1.
Found a pic from Billie at byLeo site. He shows how he sands down an o-ring that's a bit too thick.

I said it before and I say it again... Just get a smaller one, it will stretch more and be thinner.
The sanding method is OK if you're desperate and don't have any other o-ring size at hand but I prefer changing o-rings

Mine would not clear the metal edge of the top cap, and that's on 4 silver box clones. O-ring didn't matter. I had to file the edge down on the top cap to make it work. I'm thinking this an IBTank issue cause what are the odds that 4 of these clones are that much off???
If they're all sourced from the same manufacturing company, even if they have minor alterations and different colored boxes, pretty good.
The base dimensions would still be the same, which would be the issue.
But yes it could be an issue with your glass.
I have 4 coming in from IBT in a week or so, and an authentic Erl, it shall be interesting to see how they fit.
If you bought them at the same time, they could be from the same batch. One problem with clones is they don't change the bits on the machines as often as they should, or check tolerances as often as they should.
I didn't even think of that, I just assumed the possibility they were machining them all 1/2 to 1 mm too big. lol
That very well may explain it but IBTank glass should be the same on both ends, flipping it shouldn't matter. The ID's should be the same on each end I would think, which leads me to believe the glass tolerances are off a bit...
Agree! I've always wondered about that myself. It doesn't make sense unless its cast and their die is off. This happens with their glass on the authentic Erlks, too.
