I've not used that juice control ring ever. Or the black afc ring.

Same here roxy. Never have used either the juice control or the air flow adjuster...just leave them in the box. I like the open airflow, actually less whooshing without it.
By the way, I got my wick channels cut out on the top shoulders of the YiLoong version and it works perfectly now. Before I was getting some restriction there that was cutting off the juice. Also I can lower the coil now. Very nice tape.

My silver box one from FT ($20) is great. Some haven't been as nice as mine, but I think they've all been usable out of the box. Someone said the Amod one from Focalecig is better.

Yeah, not seeing much info on AMod's Erl. I ordered when FT pulled; actually had in my shopping cart at the time. I'll report back once I'm received and tested the AMod.

It was on the FC thread today or yesterday. He said he first got a couple from FT and sold them. Now has the Amod and is happy with that one.

I have the FT sku 1893600, which is the silver box one without the box, and the Angelcigs 260-ek. The FT 1893600 is the much better of the two.

There are so many from unknown sources that it's tough to pin down the best. And as is the nature of the inexpensive clones, any given instance of any model will vary in quality from another one.

(I have two more on order: an FT sku 1996800 and an FT sku 1893601. What an idiot glutton I am. )

One thing I've noticed is some of the clones don't have that washer that fits inbetween the chimney/chamber and the deck. Is this a big deal?

I removed the juice control ring and afc on all of my Erls (clone And authentics) and have had no issues with any of them.

The ErlprinZ is sold without that ring.

Several, including myself, have come to believe that that ring isn't a juice control ring but rather to hold silica wicks in place. Since I only use rayon, there is no need for the ring.

Regarding removing the "wick control ring", Just be aware that that does change the clearance at the top of the chimney to top cap where the o-ring is. The o-ring doesn't get squeezed quite as tight, in most cases it probably makes no difference. Just be aware of it that's all.

I have been thoroughly disappointed in the EK clone I bought off of E-Bay. The first partial fill on the first build was perfect.
Then I open up and refill and it leaks most of a near full tank all over everything. What I find is one of the fill hole o-rings was torn by the twisting motion of the top cap. Now I find that at least one of the groves will not hold the o-ring in place. I suppose I will attempt to cut a gasket for the top and see if that will seal it.
In the mean time I have ordered 2 more from other sources to see what I get?

Air flow is closed as far as it will close? It dosen't stop air flow and still has a airy draw.

Just got my clone off of ebay yesterday. Not very happy with it. The threads are almost too small for the 510 connection, so the tank is wobbling on top of my provari and dna 30 clone. 2 out of 3 times I try to hit it DNA clone reads that it is shorting out. Also the air flow control ring doesn't work. I reached out to the seller but haven't heard anything today.

I can tell though if I got a good one, this would be hands down my favorite tank. Filling it up is a breeze!
