Right, it has been about a month since I got my Evo. All the 'Oh! Its so sparkly and new! I must write a bias review!' has gone. So I thought I would give my experience of my first month on the Black Evo.
Atomisers:
To be honest I was expecting the vaping experience to tail off slightly as the atomisers 'bed-in' and develop carbon layers, which begins to mute the vapour production and throat-hit somewhat.
There was a slight decline, no-where near as steep as the old RN4081 I had previously. The two black atomisers I had been using were then soaked using Terraphon's 'Atomiser-Cola-Spa-Bath' technique, this resurrected them again. Much to my delight.
Battery:
Battery life has remained steady throughout the month. I am tending to go through a battery every 8 hours or so (Regular vaping, not over-doing it). The batteries have survived a few drops onto hard ground, such as concrete. So they are fairly hardy units. As a sub-note, to all those Black Evo vapers, the black paint used is fairly chip-resistant. Means you shouldnt end up looking like you are sucking on a battered biro pen after extended regular useage.
Cartridges:
One major thing I have beem impressed with, is the wicking speed of the cartidges the Evo uses. When I come to top-up the white filler inside with E-liquid, it is consistently approaching empty. Too many times with my RN4081 I thought the carts were running dry, only to find that they had failed to wick halfway down the filler.
General Use:
I have a confession. I ended up asking Intellicig for some business cards. I was sick of people asking me to write down the website that I bought this from. Every single person who notices and tries this e-cig is impressed. Sometimes I find a quiet spot to vape because I simply dont want the hassle
There is a small gripe with the Evo however. The sound activated vaping on the battery. If I was listening to loud music in the car, I found the Evo merrily self-vaping along to it. This was remedied by sound-proofing my slim aluminium vaping case with sticky-backed velcro wool on the inside.
Conclusion:
Now is about the time when I would have given up on something that genuinely does not work. A fad, is a fad. I find myself really surprised at the fact that I have substituted analog smoking, with elec-vaping. I have been using the Evo during day to day activities, its getting to the stage where I am not thinking 'Oh, im not smoking a cigarette, its something better!', which (To me) shows that this little item has exceeded the temporary-fad barrier and has become a regular accepted part of my day.
I would still heartily recommend this to any current analog-smoker, as an excellent alternative. Moreso now that I have been using it for a month.
