I just joined the club and ordered a SMY SDNA75 too, it'll be my first non-LIPO mod

I found some VTC6 batteries for a decent price locally, can anyone me if these bats are the right ones & will fit the mod?

Sony Konion US18650VTC6 3120mAh - 30A

....that's two now @Jim_ MDP...

VTC6 should be outstanding. Mooch did an early review, ranks them pretty damn high.
They're a direct competitor for the LG HG2.
I won't buy anymore HG2s but I'll keep an eye on the new Sony's pricing. May try 'em.

But they're 20A (or there abouts) not that inflated 30A spec.

Hope you enjoy the SDNA, mine hasn't left the rotation. :p

(lol... hit post reply, reached for a mod (~3 to choose from) and my hand settled on the SMY. :) )

Yeah, I saw the review the other day but had never seen anyone call them Konion before so I wanted to make sure this isn't a different version or something.

Thanks!

They're around 8 bucks a piece over here, just give me a holler if you want some ;)

I've been going back and forth between the VT75 Nano and this one for a while now but decided to go with this one for the looks and because of that problematic threading of the battery door on the Nano.

I had some coupons and ended up only paying 35 bucks for it!

I was doing a little test to see if I could vape 8 ml of juice before the battery gave out on my SDNA75. It did it but the next fire was "flashing batt icon". So I thought it would be good to post a live view with my run down LG HD2 firing at 15 watts for 5 seconds and with no air.

More on the 8 ml juice test, that was with a Kayfun 5 clone firing at 40 watts/50 watts preheat for 1 sec.

That is good to know. 8ml lasts me about 3 days, lol

I can't comment on the Konion moniker... never seen it either.
I only meant the VTC6 looks to be a winner.

I think you went a couple rounds over where to get authentics to the NL but I don't recall what came of that. No idea what they should cost either.

Konion is the company that purchased the Sony battery business from Sony. Sony has been hemorrhaging money from most of their non-realestate businesses for years. Just another loss leader that they separated from themselves.

It will probably be named Sony for awhile till Konion feels that their named has gained recognition.

It will affect future battery development years out before you see something to worry about.
Well Sony probably never recovered their loss when they had those exploding lithium batteries. When was that again, like 2006? And didn't they lose like a half of a billion dollars in the recall?

This is the third time Sony Vaio laptops have been hit with major product recalls. In 2006, Sony was forced to issue a recall for 90,000 battery packs sold in Japan and China. More recently, Sony recalled 73,000 Sony Vaio TZ-series laptops in 2008 due to faulty wiring near the notebook hinges. Sony was also at the center of a multi-year battery product recall that affected manufacturers like Acer , Apple and Dell.

Well the biggest hits as a company came from the money they threw away in the PS3 and Winning the Blu-ray/hd-dvd war. Something in the territory of 10 billion spent then. Also their strongest retail arm the TV and TV entertainment division nosedived. Then the battery stuff went down.

That said I don't think it was ever a profitable division. Specially after LG stepped it up.

Wasn't it also Sony who invented the Beta video tapes? I know it was Philips/Sony who pioneered the CD. As I was working for Philips at the time and the beta CDs were made out of glass. Gosh I wish I kept some of them now.

I have to look back I thought it was Phillips and JVC. But pioneered by Phillips anyways. Blu-Ray was Sony's first media win in competition and it took them nearly bankrupting the company to do it.

Since HD-DVD required much less production and design costs Toshiba kept pretty close to Sony even after the onslaught of PS3 sales. It took Sony 10-15 Billion to beat a Toshiba that had only spent like 1.5 billion. If Warner Brothers didn't decide to end the war on their own the cost of the competition might have killed Sony in a year or so considering the market crash they experienced after that and the economic crash in Japan at the time.

PS: will my Escribe version 1.0.42 work with the DNA75 as well or do I need another one?

The update function in the program doesn't seem to work for me if, it keeps asking for a registration but I can't find anywhere to register on the page it refers to.
No, that one is meant for the DNA200. You want at least:

SetupES_2016-05-06_DNA75(1.0.56).exe
