Nothing wrong with it unless you can't vape any more because of the sag. No reason to set everything to the lowest possible setting and not be able to vape it. We had a guy here want to send his SMY back because he couldn't get his vape at 100%. Well anyone vaping at 30-50w is isn't going to be able to vape it at 50% if you set everything to the min.

Not only that but the actual stored power in 3.0 down to 2.7 or 2.5 is so marginal it's not even worth worrying about.

With the low cut off at 2.75 V the voltage you get a weak battery warning at will be between about 3.2 V to 3.5 V from most vapers depending on cells and power lever. It is the voltage under load not the voltage at rest.

EG:
Running at 75 W, with efficiency of 85% you need 88.23 W from the cells, say your cell is 3.5 V that would be at least 25 A (I = P/V). With a cell of 20 milliohm IR that would be a sag of at least 0.5 V (V = IR) so your voltage under load is less than 3 V. Because of that sag you need more current, run the numbers a few iterations and it ends with your 3.5 V 20 milliohm cell delivering 88.23 W would at best be trying to supply 30.54 A and sagging to 2.9 V, but in the real world it would sag far more.

Battery curves seem nice if you use a single brand/type, but I switch around a lot, and would not want to hook up to Escribe every time I changed a battery, so I leave the battery presets as they come from Evole software, and luckily have not had any issues with my builds.

That was the point I was making. Setting the curve and cut off to 2.7 is going to make you think you have much more usable power than you really have.

The battery curves do nothing but show you the capacity of a given battery. You really don't need to load a battery curve unless you want a more accurate indicator and even then, you'd have to run the test on each battery you own and even then the characteristics of the battery drain will change over time. Basically, just a waste of time. Leave the stock curve and you'll be fine.

On paper, I can see that. But does it really work that way in the real world?
It all depends on the curve but the default curve on my SMY had like 10% left at 2.9 and 0 at one but on my HG2 it was weak at 15% and HE4 weak at 10%.

Which was still really at like 3.2 left charged. Probably would have popped back up if I let it. But wouldn't it be smarter to set the curve and limit to what you actually vape at so you know when it's actually going to be limited and not once you have gotten just about every bit of juice out of the battery. I guess it's better than my 150tc that will just not fire at all and with some settings it's at 40% left displayed when it does it.

I use pack voltage on my screen and charge when at 3.6 volts, greatly increases the battery life that way. It pained me the other day when testing to see if I could vape 8 ml from a single charge which it did and I took it to 2.75 v cell soft cutoff. The next fire was flashing battery icon (3.3x volts standing, 2.75 loaded) 40/50 watts.
Hardware cutoff is 2.5 volts BTW
With pack voltage displayed on the screen it will show you the sag when firing but not as accurately as EScribe.
Edit: This is with a LG HD2 (2000 mah)

is there a way i can connect to escribe (device monitor) and Not be charging my battery so i can see how the current state of the battery is firing my tank?
There is an option to set USB current under the Diagnostics button in DM, just remember to set it back when you have finished.

So the latest with the smy - and I figured id ask if this is by design which I doubt highly - is that the mod makes an electronic high pitched whine occasionally.

Sounds like it's coming from the screen area

After rest - Clicked one happens. Stop. Click again may or may not not. One time it happened for ten consecutive pushes another time it stopped after one.

I'm assuming the chip isn't designed to whine and I have the good fortune of having a defective unit.

In which case. What now. Where do I get it fixed or am I screwed. If I have to pay to mail it outside the USA it's probably not even worth send it jt somewhere.

Unbelievable luck with DNA devices. Every single one I've had has been defective. The DNA 40 I mentioned before in the Mark snugs Wizard apprentice Evolved that was working so well. it died too.

I'm literally 0/5 on working DNA chip powered mods. So inthink it's time to call it.

...unless of course the chip is supposed to sound like poltergeist

Guys, I just got my SMY SDNA75 and am looking to hook it up to escribe for initial setup ….I have downloaded escribe…but not a pro user, so need some help.

I will never use this in temp control…all I want to do is change the led light from red to blue….and possibly set it up to optimise the battery I will be using…LG HG2.

Do I need to do anything else….like upgrading the firmware etc?

Would be great if you can explain it to me like you would to a kid. Many thanks.

Your battery setting should be just fine out of the box.
To change color go to "themes"tab and at the bottom you will find the settings for the colors. Just click on the color in the box and a window will open to select a color, make your selection and upload settings.

I'm still getting weird battery readings every time I hook up to Escribe 1.2 SP3. I sometimes have to do several soft-reboots to get it back to normal again, uploading settings never seems to fix it

Also, with all battery settings still the same it drops down to around 87% within 2 or 3 hits just after I charged it to a 100%.

Can anyone tell me if it's Escribe or the new firmware that's causing this? Because I want to go back to the older version.

I know how to go back to an older version of Escribe but not how to go back to a older firmware version, can anyone tell me how to do this please?

Never mind, I figured it out already. Everything is back to normal.

One thing I noticed is that the battery was at 86% on the new firmware and as soon as I switched back to the version of February this year it displayed 74%. I can only assume it didn't fully charge my battery somehow with the other version.

I'll wait for a stabile version next time I do any updates.

Help!!!!
Vt75 gets hot
Using 26650 purple effest
Thanks

VAPE ON[emoji36]

I'm no expert, but I assume that others that are will need some more info.

Can you tells us under what conditions this happens, what coils, what settings etc?

I do believe the VT75 performs better with 18650 bats, apparently the currently available 26650 batteries just can't keep up at higher wattage's, could that have anything to do with it perhaps?
