If you have a DNA60 usb board? You can solder wires to it & connect to E-Scribe.
It's not that hard, removing the screen lead is the worst part. I didn't solder nothing on the board just held the wires in place while I connected. I put in a bunch of my own profiles & now can easily switch between them :)

On the 60 you can also wire a micro USB port to the board bypassing the Evolv charge board, you won't be able to charge but you will get Escribe connection. I'll have to dig for the wiring setup, a member on the Evolv forum posted the directions and a diagram. It's easy but it has to be followed and you also need to have a 10K or 100k (?) resistor soldered in line on one wire. That's how I did the ZNA mod that didn't have room for the charge board.

Here's the post on the Evolv forum from Spector that shows how to wire the 60 with the USB port, BTW it is a 10K resistor, below is his picture he posted there --> DNA 60

Nice Post Slick :) The 10K resistor must be the trick? At first I tried just the 3 com lines & couldn't get it to communicate with E-Scribe. I ended up using all 5 wires to get it to work.
I used a single strand copper wire just a bit smaller than the holes in the board, I just inserted them in the holes in the board & held them in place while I connected.
I realize it's a bit risky cause if I corrupted the U/L I mite of trashed the board.

Yeah the 10k resister is the key to get Escribe to recognize the signal or was it frequency? I'm not sure, I read something as to what the 10k signaled between Escribe and the board for it to be recognized but now I don't remember the technical terms. I can't get a wrench on it so that's stuff out of my field, it just worked LoL. I too tried it without and also found it wouldn't connect, thanks to Spector on the Evolv forum I found the solution. The challenge with the little USB was soldering wire to those very tiny terminals and keep them from touching each other, I used hot glue as an insulator and to hold the wires from moving, worked well. It's not something I'd want to do often and if I did it again I would have used much smaller wires, there is no real amperage flowing, just a signal. The ones mounted to a board like the Evolv charger wouldn't be bad but I had to fit a USB in the hole I drill in the bottom of the ZNA mod, there was no room for anything else. This is the style I got off fleebay.

This style would be the way to go if you have room for them, (Spector's pic).

Whoa, wait a minute here SlickWilly. I ordered a XvoStick DNA60 by Mini ECIG and they are in production right now. And I assumed that DNA60s automatically connected to EScribe, assuming they have an USB board (which is optional). So you mean that USB port is only for charging and you need to modify them if you want to connect to EScribe?

No, all 60,s that come equipt with a usb board do both, charge & E-Scribe.
We were discussing mods with no usb board. like a BB or the zna willy built him self, & different options to use E-Scribe

6 weeks, not the worst i'v seen :) Let us know how it works?
With a dual battery 250c setup, the bigger builds should be N/P :)

I had to go to the website to see if they were using the Evolv charge board made for the 60's in those mods, I didn't see anywhere where they talk about connecting to Escribe but I did find a pic of the 60 boards they are using along with the Evolv chagre board so it "should" be all set to connect to Escribe once you get them, looks like they are coming all wired and assembled to put in the mod housing. I went here to this page XvoStick DNA60 chip assembling - Mini ECIG where they show pics of them assembling them (the boards) for sale, I downloaded the 3rd pic down, zoomed in and cropped it, posted below, there you can see it is the Evolv charge board made for the 60's, printed Evolv right on it.

251218_news_chip_assembling_03.jpg

When using the Evolv board you don't have to modify anything, they connect without any modifying, just solder the wires from the charger board to the 60 board and you'll have charging and Escibe connection, you don't need any resister or any modding, note the one Steamer has a pic of above is the same Evolv charger.

There is that work around trick to connect to Escribe with a plain micro USB port or port mounted on a tiny bread board (like the one below) along with a 10k resister that will get you connected to Escribe but that trick won't do any charging, just connect to Escribe. Because I didn't have room inside that ZNA mod for the Evolv board I had to go with just the bare USB port without charging which really doesn't matter, I charge most of my 18650's in a nitecore charger anyways.

Hope this clears it up for you, let me know if I didn't make it clear.

I just remembered why that 10k resister had to be used, it was so your computer would recognize the signal. I "think" it was a parameter of a signal so the computer to recognize the type of device being connect, IF I remember correctly? But I'm pretty sure that's what I found, like they talk about here. USB - Wikipedia

I'm sure some of you guys know this stuff so please jump in if I'm wrong.

Bill that XvoStick DNA60 looks like a really, really nice mod! Can I asked what kind of coin the entire kit with shipping it running you?

I haven't checked their website in awhile, but Element Vape has those Vapecige VTX200 in all 3 colors in stock for $94.95 if anybody is interested.

Got my two Tobeco Kayfun v5 in. The o-ring on the top of the tank is too small and won't stay in the groove. Checked the spares and that is the largest o-ring in the bag. Is that going to be a trick to get back together. Anybody else has a Kayfun v5?

I got those FreeMax SS316L Single Mesh coils today for use with TC. Boy that ID looks to be like 6 or 7mm. That is huge. Just got too curious and popped one out of the package and yes, it is 7mmID. Geez! :vapor:

@BillW50, I have 3 k5 clones, 2 of 1 unknown brand and 1 from another unknown.
Size is 18 x 1.5 mm (18 ID) this is top to tank (or base to tank, same)
If they did it so can you.
Thanks. The 0-ring is 20mmOD and groove is 22mmOD.

You are using something other than a ruler, right? I tore down one of the other brands, again 18 ID, 21 OD....same as the glass.
Not to say Tobeco didn't deviate from 1:1

Yes I am using a digital caliber. I figured out one way to get it on. Hold it there on the table (upside down) while I slip the tank on and slowly remove my fingers over the o-ring while the tank replaces my fingers.
I knew you had it in you, I'm vaping one of mine now, first time in over a year probably. Had to rewick then go back in and trim the tails just a bit more.
Vaping on that Peppermint I made a couple of days ago.

Here's the one I made for my billet boxes. I used header pins instead of wires. The pins fit nice and about in the main board.

Man my soldering looks bad this close up! But the board works well.....

Now why didn't I think of that? Good idea for sure, I have a few header pins laying around will have to upgrade my BB usb board. Thanks :)
BTW have you tried the Boxxer? I'm hesitant to try it cause I'v never liked the coil that close to my mouth with other tanks before :( I find the vape is hot & the chance of spit back to high :(
I'm interested in your take on it?
