you can see inside them, they have two strips of LED's that run the entire length and they are made to be used in a shoplight without a ballast, direct connect to 110v. I may pull one apart and see what they look like inside, all plastic construction.

Thanks Willy, Evolv did warranty 3 of them for me, I have several spares, just a PIA to have to change them all the time!

I'd be screwed if I had to depend on my older 250s. As I only have one of them and that one is a limited edition mod and it lives in the box. I have tons of DNA200 mods though and spare 250 boards to replace them if and when they fail.

Wow that is horrible! Those 4 bad screens, were they from the same lot or something? I can think of 11 mods I have off of the top of my head that I have with color screens and I've never seen this. Although I do have over 20 spare color screens in stock. You know, in case I ever need them.

Sitting here thinking I've got to brave the cold to go back out and shut the shop lights back off, but I don't worry if they stay on because all the lights were swapped out to new LED's shoplights and it cost so little to run them. Then suddenly...
Last spring Lowes was changing light suppliers and had 98% of their lighting stock on sellout, I bought a dozen of the 48" florescent style LED replacement bulbs for pennies on the dollar, you can see inside them, they have two strips of LED's that run the entire length and they are made to be used in a shoplight without a ballast, direct connect to 110v. I may pull one apart and see what they look like inside, all plastic construction.
Wow! I never knew they even made such a thing. My kitchen alone uses 600 watts worth of florescent tubes. And I have 3 work shops that I don't remember how many of those tubes they use. I suppose you can't just replace one at a time, eh?

Well I always wanted to try this, but not by accident. Yesterday when I rebuilt the coil in the Kayfun 5, I went really thin on the rayon this time. So I was really cautious watching it for leaking, which it never did. Well that is until I just top filled it and I forgot to close the juice control. Now a piece of advice... Don't do this! It leaks massively.

I had a bunch of the two florescent bulb shoplights in my shop for years and they always sucked! They always needed messing with, wiggle the bulbs to light, never wanted to come on in the cold, expensive to replace the bulb. And because of the laws in NY I had to hold onto the old ones and once a year register with the county to show up in a 30 min window on one certain day to recycle them, it's the only legal way to dispose of them here, the trash guys won't take them.

Finally a couple years ago I found Ace Hardware had these on sale, in fact, son of a gun.... they are on sale again right now! BTW, it says with Ace Rewards (sign up online or while there) you'll get another $3 each off that price, so $20... can't beat it, I paid $25 each on sale last spring LoL. Better run, I bet these will sell out fast!
Metalux 43 in. 32 watts LED Shop Light - Ace Hardware

I first bought four, loved them! That replaced half my lights, last spring Ace ran the sale again and I got six more and replaced all the old lights and adding a couple more. Now its like daylight in my shop, never ever been so bright and they cost a fraction to run, plus it can be 10 deg below and they come on full bright instantly. No more wiggle the bulbs, waiting for them to come full bright, no more messing to get rid of old bulbs.
Each only uses 32 watts, each puts out 3200 lumens I can run all eight and use less then juice than it takes to run three 100 watt bulbs. I kid you not my entire shop is as bright as a sunny July day at high noon.
