We to have a graduated licensing plan now it takes 3 full years to get a G2 witch is a full licence.
For the first 2 years there are plenty of strict regulations. It's a good thing I guess? our maybe just a way for cops to write more tickets?
insurance for a 17 year old is really expensive! I even had to put the old truck (10 silverado) in his name. Just incase, this way it don't affect my
insurance rate if he does some thing Stupid!

Overview – from learner to full licence
There are seven steps to progress from a learner to a full licence:
Pass the Driver Knowledge Test (DKT) – get your learner licence
Hold your learner licence for at least 12 months, and complete 120 hours of supervised driving practice, including 20 hours of night driving (unless you’re 25 or older)
Pass the Driving Test – get your provisional P1 (red) licence (restricted to 90km/h)
Hold your P1 licence for at least 12 months
Pass the Hazard Perception Test (HPT) – get your provisional P2 (green) licence (restricted to 100 km/h)
Hold your P2 licence for at least two years (24 months)
Pass the Driver Qualification Test (DQT) – get your full licence.
