I received the two wiper blades that I ordered from Walmart today, unbelievable how huge the box is that they came in, they could have put about one hundred or so of them in that box.

That boxing department is ridiculous isn't it? They are so clueless about shipping and packing.

dwcraig1 that box/desktop mod looks like a dogmods (Nick) one of one.
Yep, that's Nick's box
There used to be lots of pics of it, this is the only one that I could find.

Just call me 'THE snippet king' :D Here was his description of it that I had only read.

4 years ago. - This will be at the Silver Steam booth at Vape Mania! Come check it out if you're there. See ya'll soon!
The plugs are just generic milspec locking connectors with 10ga pins. The mod does indeed use 120v and will run fine on it. You can also feed it 240v if you fancy that without any changes or switch flipping, the power supply is auto sensing.
That was exactly the idea with this, that some Shop or a Convention-going business would love it. I'm sure it would attract a lot of attention.

The XD is a .45 XD Compact. Normal 4" service length just with a chopped grip. It is shown there with the 13rnd extended grip mag.

It also has a Master On/Off key and latching power button because I thought it would be cool.

$900 AC to DC converter power supply, think like the kind needed to run massive neon signs.

The wire needed inside and out alone was nearly $100.

I would have to sell it for like $2k+ to recoup the high cost and time investment. I spreadsheeted every little nut and bolt and bit of wire and this thing was a ton.

The cost of this one is due to the high retail price of the chips, expensive capable power supply, custom Cerakote on the enclosures, wiring, time, aluminum plate, investment in my CNC equipment, man hours of work, etc etc. The connectors were over a hundred dollars, and the wiring alone was almost a hundred dollars. Heck, even the nice stainless hardware all added up from the hardware store was like $40.

The smallest thing added a large cost. Even the wire sleeve for the mods had to be bought in a 100ft spool that was like $75

It contains are large (enough to power 5x DNA200's at full tilt large) power supply. Everything is heavy gauge wire (10awg+) to prevent voltage drop. The mods have no batteries, and plug into the ammo can via locking quick connectors. The purpose is to be used at a shop or convention as a display mod to provide an awesome, attention grabbing, and reliable source of mods without the need to fumble with or charge and change batteries during events. It takes 120v AC input, and the fans are to move the heat out of the interior.

dwcraig1 I used it on my car windshield and my motorbike helmet visor. It worked fantastically on both and you could drive in lighter rain without using the wipers but I'd need the wipers in a really heavy downpour. After a while of using the wipers you'd see where the wipers had worn it away.

    Ah Sh@t I hadn't had a screen issue in a long time :(
Not the usual white screen, but I'v had this hole in the screen issue before :(
Good thing I stocked up on spare's :)

You know I believe those screens are just a matrix. And a failure in the matrix I couldn't imagine forming a pattern like this. And it looks more like something hit it or heat damage like from the sun. Where was it when you found it that way? If it was from heat, cooling it down could improve it somewhat. Like sitting in the frig for an hour.

This mod doesn't leave the house, The tank on it isn't know to leak, nothing I'v noticed lately any way. All thou most of my screen failures have been White Screen of Death, when the screen just go's all white. I have seen this before, it starts as a spot & gets bigger :( I have a ton of spare screens so it just a matter of switching it out :)

Luckily I only get screen failures :) I'v had the moving black hole like Mike described, probably liquid in behind the screen? This one isn't like that, it's a stationary black hole :(
Realistically these are cheep screens sourced from China, & we all know how China's quality control can be :( Their more concerned with cheep prices & mass production Quality isn't even in the equation :(
