thanks, guys! i tried a couple of different vice grips but they all slip off. i'm now in possession of a metal saw powered by a lithium battery hoping to cut the bolt and save the terminal battery wire end. but is that safe to use over a battery?

Vice grips/locking pliers and righty-tighty, lefty loosey will make quick work of that.
Otherwise wire cutters and a $3-4 lug for the new battery and let whoever you trade the core into deal with it. Looks like there's plenty of wire to crimp one on.

If you're still stuck Tibs, one of the dollar store torches that use a disposable lighter mite work? Just heat the nut on the opposite side of the cable, careful to only heat the nut it self Iv seen them work in a pinch, they can actually heat a small nut to a red glow, expanding the metal & loosing it's grip

Electrically, there is no problem as long as you remove the negative terminal before using the saw. That's to prevent any accidental contact of the saw or saw blade from causing a short and letting out the magic smoke in a catastrophic manner. Of course, be careful with the saw and don't cut/nick anything you're not going to need to cut.

the negative terminal has been disconnected for days - that was the easy part
so, if i create a spark with that metal file it can't do no harm?

With the negative terminal disconnected you won't create any electrical sparks unless you get the tool across both the positive and negative battery posts at the same time, which would seem pretty unlikely.

Very strange. I had these Geekvape IM1 KA1 0.4Ω coils for about 18 months now. I used 2 in two Geekvape Shield tanks. Although I think I ruined those tanks by putting in this strong artificial berry juice in them. As I soaked, cleaned, and repeated and I just can't get that smell and taste out of them. So I never did anything with those coils until now.

Well a month or so ago I acquired two Geekvape Cerberus tanks that takes the same size coils (also the same size as the TFV8 Baby, btw). Although they came with mesh coils and I thought they were pretty good and all. Well I still had 5 packs of those IM1 coils and put one in after that one mesh was done.

Oh my! This taste and vapes very good. I might be mistaken, but pretty much like that mesh I pulled out of there. But later it got very strange. I logged all of the juice and puffs and it now had 77ml through it and 4344 puffs later and that coil still looks spotless. No gunk, discoloration, or anything and the flavor and the vapor is still very good. vaping with my Yeti Vape Haze Cap which has been my ADV for 5 years now.

Besides that coil, the only thing I can think of that I have been doing differently is running the temperature a tad lower than I normally do. As I have an Atlantis EVO tank with a Triton Ni200 0.15Ω coil with the same juice and I am running it at 400°F and I usually vape it 30°F to 40°F higher. That one has had 19ml through it and it is showing about what it normally would look like. I also use the same Triton and juice in one of my BB too (430°F there). These Tritons usually lasts through 80ml to 100ml worth of juice. And I am vaping that IM1 coil at about the same temperature.

I just can't explain why that IM1 coil is doing so well. It could be a fluke I suppose. But I am tempted to just pull that coil out and try another one and see if that one does the same thing. They are rated 40 to 60w and I vape them at 36w. And I even vaped it down once to just 2 drops of juice left in the tank and it still wasn't close to giving a dry hit. Very strange.

Well I had 100ml through that coil and I decided to get a better look at it besides just looking down the drip tip. The iPhone camera is picking the cotton up with a lot of gray, but it looks more white when looking at it. I got a good shot of two wraps not getting enough cotton around it and gunked up a bit. But the rest of the wraps are still nice and shiny. Anybody else seen a coil behave so well before?

The coil now looks gold in the pic below because that is the tint of my juice in the tank. But this pic shows to truer color of the cotton than the above where it looks more gray.

Normally I would never even think of purchasing an Eleaf product. And if the Bargain Bin Treasures! thread didn't rave about them running a 21700 and post of a big sale Eleaf had, I still wouldn't have. But I got curious and bought two. The Pico 21700 takes a 21700 battery obviously, but man is that thing tiny. When I opened the box, I thought they sent the wrong one and I couldn't even imagine even an 18650 fitting inside of it. I thought it was a 18350 mod they sent by mistake. But no, a real 21700 does fit. And shockingly it is smaller than a Billet Box in all dimensions except it is 26mm thick and a BB is 24.5mm. That's a 25mm Cerberus tank on top of it. I am pretty sure a DNA60 would fit, not sure about a DNA75, it would be close.

How Eciggity gets mods first is something I never figured out. Maybe they invite the big wigs to Hawaii every year and get special treatment or something.

I need some help with a windows 10 Laptop. I have an old LT I lent to a friend a long time ago, I was never expecting to get it back, but here it is.
It's a mess! I checked the updates & a long list of Failed updates are there
I cant get the screen aspect ratio to fit the screen properly. The fan seems to running real high also
I found an option were I can just reinstall windows 10 (Clean install) Is this my best option? There is nothing I need in the files, just some old pictures I'v all ready backed up

I'm asking here cause I know there are many here who know much more about Windows than I do Maybe there is a way to fix a lot of these issues with out a Clean install? Thanks in advance

Check in Device Manager and see if your video card is listed, without the drivers the correct aspect ratio might not be available.

If the fan is running hard try using some canned air to blow out the dust. Do that outside because from the sound of things that laptop has been used without much maintenance.

The clean install method is the best way to start over again. Failed updates could indicate the hardware isn't up to the level that Win10 needs today, but that's just a guess.

Clean install for sure, not worth the time or effort to try and fix a broken install. Probably jammed full of malware and other nasties too.

Wipe it and save yourself the headache.

Besides all of the advice, I would save a copy of Windows in the Windows folder if you can. Maybe this isn't as important for Windows 10, but earlier versions of Windows if you didn't have a driver for something, that device might not work. It could be a sound card, SD slot, or something. Saving the whole Windows folder will come in handy if the fresh install of Windows needs a driver. Just tell it to look there. There are utility programs that will also backup all of your drivers too. But I had like a 90% success rate with them. You could find them manually from the old Windows, but that would take all day.
