So with my new computer my Windows alarm clock didn't go off because the computer was set to go to sleep after 30 minutes. I changed it not to sleep ever.
I noticed my hard drive was set to turn off after 10 minutes, could that be stopping the alarm clock from working also?

No the alarm will still go off if the drive goes to sleep. The computer just can't be in sleep, hibernation, or off modes.

I had no idea just how fast a hard drive like this one could be.

I've been using them since 2007. But back then, they were basically PCIe interfaced SSD. But yes they are incredibly fast. They can be 4 times faster on average than a SATA SSD, if I recall correctly.

I have set it to never turn off but will change it back when I get home from work. Thanks Bill.

It's good that I bought the above, when I went to install it I found the cooler that I was replacing not attached properly.
Mine is the Evo v1, I had to study it for an hour and watch a YouTube video to figure out how to mount it. Then it was fairly easy.

With youtube all things become possible.

I went to the dealership for an oil change on both my cars this morning. I stopped doing it myself about 3 years ago, getting to old perhaps. Well the place and the Kia dealership's lots were just about empty of new cars for sale and no used ones at all. This is due to the chip shortage which I was aware of but had no idea how bad it was making things.
