It's aged for sure.
I have a rotated a variety of large UPS units through the tank. What I found for my African Cichlids was that I only really needed to power 1 of the pumps for the wet/dry filter to keep the bacteria alive, and 1 heater to keep the aquarium in a safe state. This is what I am using today.@mikepetro, are you using battery backup on your aquarium? If so what?
My friend has a saltwater tank, she starts to lose it when there is a power outage. I got the APC-SMT2200 that we replaced at work working just fine after I was able to take my time with it. Maybe she will want it.I have a rotated a variety of large UPS units through the tank. 2 considerations, my tank is freshwater, they require a LOT less equipment running to keep them alive. A saltwater tank requires about 10 times more electrical power to maintain minimum safe conditions. The other consideration is how long you are trying to protect the tank. I only need 2hours, if the power isnt on by then I am starting the portable generator and powering the whole house.
