Additional info, this link shows he's had a long history with police including illegal & fake guns and drugs. Who Was Alfred Olango?

God it's a sad story,
"A man shot and killed Tuesday in a confrontation with police in Southern California was a Ugandan refugee who friends say came to the U.S. at the age of 12 in search of protection from a regime seeking to kill his entire family."

WTF is wrong with people. Comply with the police and if they are wrong complain later. Non compliance is only going to end bad. I carry a firearm concealed legally. I have never had a bad interaction with a police officer and I have interacted more then once while carrying. I'm still alive. I just don't get it.

Well this is only pure speculation but I have to wonder, his sister says he was running around in the streets and almost hit by a car, his history of drug arrests, was it suicide by cop? Was he out of his mind high or did he have mental problems? One thing for sure, what he went through as a kid surely would have scarred him for life. Sad to think he went through all that, came here to live free but went down the wrong road and then end like that.

I'm generalizing a lot of the past situations that have occurred in the last few weeks. I'm not analyzing this one. I'm sure he was a bit unstable and clearly not in his right mind. My point is if you interact with police comply and everything will go a lot smoother. Be respectful, and calm. Be agitated, aggressive and non compliant things will end badly as they have numerous times recently.

I agree 100%, if an officer tells you to do something do it, especially if they have a gun drawn! Sort it out later if you fell you were wronged.

Sitting down, facing forward.
There was one here in the Philly suburbs. The guy had a five shot revolver as was determined to commit "suicide by cop". Somehow, the two cops that responded managed to get in close and started wrestling him, 5'8" and 260 pounds, for the gun. He had a death grip on it and one of the cops holstered his own weapon then grabbed the guys gun hand and managed to fire off all five rounds without hurting anyone, the "perp", bystanders or the cops. The guy eventually was subdued and arrested without injury. Never really showed up on national media, it doesn't fit the "narrative".

Incidentally, the two cops completed their shift just like another workday. They have also been check physcologically to make sure they're OK. They are and both said all they did was their job the best way they know how.

I actually have a few cop friends. Some of them are pretty good guys. Yes, in any group that possesses power there is the potential for abuse, but I think as a genre they get a bad rap due to a percentage of bad apples.

Now the cop that investigated my wife's suicide, its was 10 years ago, I would still like to do bodily harm to that man. He intentionally traumatized me deeply just so he could gauge my reaction. It was cruel and heartless. So yes, there is that element too.....

Even so, I wouldnt want to walk in their shoes, and especially not for what they get paid. They are targets in so many ways.......

I have been on the wrong side of the law in my younger days, and I held them in much different regard back then. Funny how things change......

This is what isn't initially reported, resulting in the protests and riots. Don't be a dumbass. It's not like cops are out to shoot people for no reason or for the color of their skin.
