KTM is probably right, I went 32gb on my system and I never have a memory bottleneck, but it may well be overkill. Over the years I have just always gone memory heavy to prevent disk swapping.

I upgraded from 8gb to 16gb a few years ago because I noticed that I was at 50-80% ram usage (basically maxed). I added 2 4gb sticks (Kingston HyperX) to match the 2 4gb I had. Back then, the 2 x 4gb (8gb) kit was $100 so the thought of just getting a 2 x 8gb (16gb) kit to replace the 2 x 4gb was not very economical. The memory channel loses about 5-10% with all 4 slots filled but I didn't think it wasn't worth the extra $$$.

I have since upgraded to Win10 but I'm at 28% usage right now with 5 browser windows open, email, vlc (video player) and a few other apps. My biggest memory hog is Photoshop and that doesn't slow down at all.

I've been eyeing this frame for almost a year. It's constantly out of stock but I was preoccupied with my smaller FPV quads so I wasn't really in a rush. I tend to order extra parts every once in a while just to have on hand and eventually, they turn into another full quad

I found this in a rc forum classifieds. The guy bought 2 and built one and wanted to sell both. The one he built had sub-par parts so I just wanted the frame. Luckily, he was less than an hr away so we met and did the deal. I ordered some motors, Naza M Lite (will be flashed to v2), 10" props and a few other bits and pieces. I ordered better escs for my 200 quad and used those escs on this build since it doesn't need really high amp escs. I had the receiver when I bought my transmitter and never used it because it's too big for my little quads but it has much better range. I printed an antenna holder for it (LOVE my 3d printer!!!). Slapped everything together tonight and just had a maiden flight in my kitchen. Pretty stable but needs some tuning.

I still need to get a gimbal and batteries. I was using 2200mah 3s batteries from my Vtail 400 that never got off the ground. I'm gonna need 5000mah 3s for about 20m flights.

DJI just announced a Mavic Pro quad. About the price of their Phantom 4's but folds small enough to carry in a small back pack.

Sitting down, facing forward.
Being cheap, I just tapped the 75 ohm output of the cable box and ran a cable to the kitchen, under cabinet, TV. I do have a basement, bell hanger bits, flex 60" bits and a lot of experience snaking wire though. The reviews seem kind of mixed on that thing, Tibs. It sounds like a crap shoot depending on specific, local, conditions and if the unit is actually performing at the levels it's advertised to have. If the antennas are removable/replaceable, a higher gain antenna might help improve things. I'm kind of surprised no one has seemed to have tried that which may indicate the antenna is a permanent attachment, not replaceable.
