Sitting down, facing forward.
I tried squonking and it's not for me. I can't seem to get the taste of the plastic tank out no matter what I try...and I've tried PGA, IPA and hydrogen peroxide all soaked for weeks at a time. Then there's the actual action of squonking being necessary. I'm lazy so an RTA is a lot easier and reaching that magic balance of just the right amount of wick is not very hard to do, even for an old duffer like me. Right now I have my one, and only, drip atomizer sitting on to of my squonk mod with a half full tank of liquid I'm going to throw out sitting under it. Every time I see a squonk mod I think how well that would work if the 510 were mounted down low and a tank was side by side with the battery/chip.

Ever try it? It's the bomb for flavor and wick longevity.

Tried it, got the big box! I didn't care for it.
Maybe I will revisit it when I'm not so busy.
I like cotton, I mean really like it! Have been using it since I started & it's Good :)

So, brought the dual 27000 mod to work today :) I got all most the whole day, with dual Ti coils in the +. About 15 mils of juice in total on one charge! Thats better than the ERM+ with the Gens Ace 1300mAH 3S lipo pack!
I really need a DNA 250c with dual 20700's that can hold a 30mm atty with no over hang :)

Steamer, just get a 12 volt Die Hard and a liter bottle for an atomizer. Might be a tad on the heavy side but it'll last more than a day or two.:hubba:

Seriously, I have a DNA250 in a Dripp3D enclosure with a Big Fogger on top, got to be 26 or 27mm, and there's still room for more. 1300mah on the inside. I'll throw a caliper on it in the morning and let you know.

Only 15ml? I get 15ml @ 85-90w with both of my Lavaboxes with 1300mah batts. I get 7ml with a single Sony VTC 5 18650. What mah are your 20700s?

I'm with you, Mike, I don't wanna think about it and even resent having to push a fire button.

Steamer, my own curiosity got to me and I threw the caliper on that mod. The Big Fogger is a little over 28mm, 28.44, and the case, on the outside, is 30.24mm. I'm only guessing, but I suspect dual 20700s would fit inside. I know there's a dual 18650 sled for it already.

Get it right Laurie , I call squonk mods Sippy Cups, as you well know :)

Many of us call them "bottom feeders".

Yeah I'd heard bottom feeders but wanted to put my own spin on it.

At home the squonkers have kind of embraced it and owned it...bloody annoying, the thick skinned weirdos...

I also call them gravity denialists...I'm an rta user, gravity was good enough for Isaac Newton, Einstein and to feed my rta's wicks, so I always ask them why they're fighting established science and a fundamental law of the universe to squirt juice up into their wick...some people want to do everything the hard way...

Yeah, a lot of my online friends are bottom feeders, and yes indeed, a thick skinned lot. The thing is I respect their modding skills immensely though, a good squonker is an engineering feat. Just not my cup of tea, and those who know me know I enjoy lots of different teas.

ETA: I like the "Sippy Cup" thing though, I may borrow that.

To each their own vape though, it ALL beats the stinkies.

I have to actually "think" to drip or squonk, I dont want to "have" to think, I just want to press the button and vape. Ever since the velocity style decks hit, I get plenty good enough vape too.

So I've been using nickel on my DNA 75's and 200's for TC a long time now, dual coils, five spaced wraps on a 2.5 mm rod with rayon coming in around .03 ohms in the mizers. I have no problems running .03 ohms on the 75's and 200's but it's right on the edge for the 40's and 60 boards and I really like the small form factor of the mods I can build with those boards. I'm trying hard to give stainless wire another go because I get higher ohm coils that run well on the 40's and 60's but I can't get the same good flavor with stainless to save my ...., it's very muted, I might as well vape flavorless juice. I get the thing same with stainless on the 75's and the 200's, is that just the nature of stainless? If not I'm doing something wrong and I need to figure it out soon or I'll shelve the stainless, again but I don't want to. I wan't to be able to use the smaller 40 and 60 mods dang nab it! Grrrr.... (bear growl!) I've tried UD and no name stainless from the local shop (identical results) and I've been using the Evolv preloaded CSV temp curves, don't know if these are a factor?
Give some NiFe48 from ZiViPf or regular old grade 1 Titanium a shot. I've tried many, many TC wires and all the different grades of SS I have accumulated in that time don't go anywhere near my tc mods. SS430 is the best grade of SS that's easily available but it still doesn't come close to G1 Ti and NIFe 48 IMO or even NiFe70, resistherm, etc

I don't really see it as one vs the other, I like tanks and use them 24/7 when at home, squonking just gives me more capacity & better control over how much juice Im using, I sometimes chain vape the wick dry bc I'm ADD but thank glob for tc... also it let's me use my favorite atomizer which just happens to be an rda & I'd never use otherwise bc I hate dripping. It's just a better setup for me personally to use out of the house.

This is also probably one of those "in my head" things but I've always gotten better flavor out of rda's and the flavor just feels more pronounced in a freshly squonked rda. The atomizer I use drains pretty thoroughly so if I choose to I could squonk before each pull.

I tried squonking and it's not for me. I can't seem to get the taste of the plastic tank out no matter what I try...and I've tried PGA, IPA and hydrogen peroxide all soaked for weeks at a time. I've had some nasty ones, I'm currently using the Italian soft bottles, which had no taste for me but I've had some that tasted nasty unless the bottle was more than halfway full, the ones that came with the setup I'm using now I tried boiling, alchohol, soap, each time it just tasted like plastic plus the last thing I used to wash it.

Whatever works for ya, vape on.......

Thats why "open systems" are such a success, anyone could personalize their vape to suit them. If closed system get forced on us by the 3 letter acronyms, that success will be greatly hampered.

I was talking to a freind about that yesterday, he's new to vaping so from the info he probably got from a vape shop he thought the "deeming regs" are a good thing. I was trying to explain to him how none of that stuff they want to do has anything to do with vaping more safely or protecting/improving health of vapers, & if the FDA actually wanted to do some good there are a bunch of things that need doing right now...

like for example with the whole aldehydes thing. TC has now been done with almost every wire in existence including kanthal and nichrome (but in that case I use the term "tc" loosely) make it so all the new mods have to come with a failsafe that doesn't let the coil go over 450F, and obviously temp warnings for commercial juice is an easy one. The direction they're going, without addressing some of the known issues, you know, to actually make vaping safer, is pretty telling.
