Wait, I though the regulator topology of the dna 200/250 series was buck-only?

If so, you can't get 9V out of it when run in 133/166 configuration with only 2 cells, where the input voltage maxes out at 8.4.

You are likely entirely correct. I was just pulling on brain tissue that remembers the ~9V spec on the 250 board without thinking about the number of cells. It has to be reduced in the 2 battery configuration, but it is not limited to 6.3(?)V like the 75 is.

Just to keep this on track.
DNA200 with 2 cells, max 6.0 volts
DNA250 with 2 cells, max 6.2 volts
DNA75.........max 6.2 volts
The rest of the Escribe capable ones are 9 volts max
250 is 9.3
(had to make some corrections)

There has got to be a way to make a decent drum roaster with inexpensive parts. I’d have thought you would have come up with one Mike. You seem quite resourceful in that way.
This one would work:

You laugh, I **REALLY** want this thing. Alas my "wants" and my wallet are not quite in sync.

I ain’t laughin, I would love it too. Only I need a new(to me) truck & my youngest will be getting a car soon, & I prefer to stay married to my lovely wife.

I have a gas grill, but don’t like the idea of those baskets. Can’t use the grill when it’s zero degrees in the winter, also seems like it would take too long to get the beans cooled after taking off the grill.
I guess one could rig a fan to set next to the grill & a rack to put the whole thing on above the fan & rotate the beans in the basket to cool.
