Thanks Steamer!
That's where the 3D squonk box is coming from and it should be here tomorrow. Dan charges $17 for shipping, so I'm looking at $34CAD for one screen. The FleaBay guy wants $25USD to ship and that is default international small box rate they all seem to use. It could also be sent for $9.99 USD with tracking through small package rate but they like to use those red and white premade USPS boxes... :glare:

I can get 2 screens from Evolv for $35CAD shipped which is a better deal but I have no idea how they ship? Has anyone bought directly from Evolv before?

Last order from "Dan" I paid $11.77 Expedited Parcel :) (3 batteries & an Enclosure)
Evolv has cheep international shipping, They ship the same as all other US vendors , 2 weeks at best in normal situation. I have bought direct from them before, only thing even thou they are close to the Canadian Boarder, the package will go to Chicago for international shipping out.
Then Customs witch is jamed up with holiday parcels :(
The "Ebay Guy" replied to me saying he would refund extra shipping direct thru PP if I wanted more items & he would use cheapest shipping method :)
I would contact Him & offer $10 shipping for 3 screen deal :)
Again slow shipping cause of Customs jam :(

Personally I would go with Dan, but thats cause I don't like to wait for weeks :(

Thanks for the info on Evolv! I've contacted the Ebay Guy and we'll see what he has to say about using the
First-Class Package International Service instead of Priority.

Hey Willie, how many cameras do you have on that NVR? I keep seeing an ad on an IP camera board I watch for a Dahua, 4 channel, NVR for $89. If it'll work for you, next time I see it I'll send you the link or you can go to "ipcamtalk.com" and wait for it to pop up, banner ad at the top of the page kind of like Broke Dick.

It's a stand alone DVR, I don't have a card in my computer. The third and hopefully correct one is supposed to be here Friday. Thanks for the offer though!

OK you computer geeks and wizards! :) I need some help, I'm using Windows 7 Pro 64 bit, I'm looking to shut down my internet connection (on my computer only) when I'm at idle, kind of like when screen saver comes on after it sees the computer is at idle for a set time, but I want the internet connection to shut down. I googled for software or some settings I could make but I'm coming up blank. Note, I can't be shutting down connection to the router or cable box otherwise..... once again I'll hear my wife stomping toward my office yelling;
The damn internet isn't working again and I can't get online! What did you do? Fix it! :-x
Yes dear..... I'll fix it right now....

If anyone want's these, I ran the Case Thermal and Battery Analyzer tests on those Hanna enclosures and the battery's that came with them, note this was with a DNA 200 board. The battery fared better than I expected, it did seem to last a long time on the first run I gave it. Here's screen shots once the tests were done and accepted. I have the CSV file for the battery if anyone wants it but I don't think you need it, you just need to know the watt hours, unless I'm wrong?

Oh, and an FYI on those tight hanging buttons I posted about, I got ready to take it apart today and break the edges on those holes, sat down at my bench where I also do gun work and reloading and had to move a bottle of lube out of the way and it hit me to try a drop of lube first, that has seemed to have fixed the problem but will it last? Well I can always relube it or take it apart, it's worth a try.

I have this surplus "LSA semi-fluid lube", it's part oil and part grease made to lube machine guns for the military, it really slicks up moving parts well, better then anything I've ever used, one tiny drop was all it took to slick up the buttons on the mod. You can google it using this, MIL-L-460008 If you find it for sale buy it because it doesn't come up much these days and when it does it sells out quick, a quart will last most a lifetime and you can use it for things other then guns.

Look for some varition of this, might be slightly different on win7.

Go to Control Panel > Network and Sharing > Change adapter settings..

Right click on the adapter in use > select properties > Configure button > Power Management tab >

I would uncheck the "wake on LAN" option.

Thanks Mike, still looking for it as I have time. Something has happen a couple times the last few days that has me worried, things move before my eyes without me moving them or touching the mouse. Happened again this morning while I was scrolling a page, even though I had ahold of the sliders with the mouse it was fighting me to scroll back up, when I let got it scrolled up then back and down over a short period of time as if someone else was searching at the document I had open.

I use to use go to my pc to update fellow adjuster's laptops when I worked at one company, it was part of my job. I would sometimes log onto a computer someone was using and that exactly how they described seeing things change without them doing anything, that's how they knew I was logged on, their mouse pointer never moved but they could see me using the computer.

I disconnected from the router, moved all my personal files off the C drive today and disconnect all other drives, over then next few days I'll be wiping the C drive clean and do a clean reinstall. I share nothing on this computer, it's set to be isolated from any other computers on my network, it's not part of a "Home Group". I even disabled any sharing under the firewall in and out bound rules, anything that doesn't need to connect is blocked but there are some settings I'm not sure of so I have to allow those access but I've blocked the majority.

I leave this desktop on 24/7, I use it on and off throughout the day, I watch and record most of my TV on it so for hours at end I'll be watching TV but other then that it sets idle. That's why I'd like to have it shut down the connection when it's at idle, if anyone is hacking in they wouldn't be able to during any idle time, they'd have to catch it while I using it. It won't stop a hacker but it would be one more thing to make it harder, it certainly wouldn't be open to them all night long.

Or just unplug the network cable when you are not using the PC...

If your router has a guest network option, then setup your PC to use that or put another router in between you and the other router. Unless you have a backdoor malware program on the PC, it's almost impossible for anyone to "hack" into it from the outside.

You could always get a Mac and never have to worry again... Install Little Snitch and you have control over all applications, from the system level on up.

Willie, if your router has a log feature have a look at that. It should show inbound, as well as outbound, traffic.

I looked at that and there is always a list of oddball connected ip's but what I discovered is those come through the blue ray disc player the daughter gave my wife a year ago, it also acts like a provider box that adds netflix, hulu and such. I was told those connections are for those providers, if I unplug it they go away, when I discovered it I isolated my desktop from the network because I don't trust that some of them may be malicious. Most of these damn things, even though they are brand name are made in china and I don't trust them, I'd rather have one made in Russia.....
