I use a Coilmaster V3. I ditched Nickel after less than 5 attempts, then moved to Ti.

To get even spacing on my coils, I actually wrap two parallel wires at the same time; one Ti wire, the other a kanthal wire of equal or lesser gauge (because I have so much laying around taking up vape storage space). My whole process is too OCD detailed to type out, but I don't unwrap the kanthal wire from the pole until I've adjusted the coil in the posts to where I'm ready to tighten the screws.

I also use ReadyXWick...4mm for the Velocity rda and 2.7mm for the Aromamizer.
Never used ready x wick. Have you ever use cotton or rayon? Curious how x wick compares?

I was torching my Ti that I got from Unkamen, it needed it for two reasons. One - It was filthy as heck with oil and gum. Two - It was more like working with a clock spring as it came off the roll. So I'd torch it to a blueish color, clean the heck out of it with IPA and a scrub pad, even after the torch treatment. Worked fine after that, but a real PITA when you're in a rush.

I finally ran out of that wire and ordered from Temco. Clean as a whistle and just the right temper for coil winding. No different than kanthal, which I also torch when I use it.
Cleaning wire like that would drive me crazy.

I've used cotton, hemp, and ramie (china grass). I stopped doing any kind of non-vertical coil ever since I bought an Authentic Velocity RDA just after they came out. So, with a vertical coil and the way I build them, I can just snip a piece of R-X-W and screw it from the top down into the coil. Any stray fibers just follow the path of the downward spiraling channel by the kanthal wire.

I tried cotton and ramie in my vertical coils, but they just don't wick vertically fast enough or consistently.

I really should just post pics, huh?...

Which Ti from Temco? I couldn't figure out which stuff was 100%/vape safe/whatever when I last looked (which was months ago)...so I've been slaving away cleaning my roll of Ti wire from Unkamen; of which I still have like 20ft.

I will look for a receipt, I bought a 1/2 pound spool of it, and love it.

With the lightning Vapes 30% off sale, are they cheaper? (vs temco) and is the quality the same?

I've ordered ni200 and kanthal from lightning, no problems, but the only Ti I've used came from Ring Lord (I think?) bought before Ti was widely available. The SS316L I have came from eBay and I bought 1000 ft of it. I'll have that spool for a while. ;)

Wire kind of falls into fancy build category, fancy Coils (to me) don't provide any better flavor (to me) but people swear by clapton, alien, and fused this that and the other. I dunno....?

Ti can be a bit springy & I've been known to heat it a little on the rod to settle it down for S&C on occasion.

Ti can be springy depending on witch one you get
I have 2 diffrent kinds this one $4.44 Ti Grade 1 Titanium Heating Wire for Rebuildable Atomizers - 24 AWG / 0.51mm*10m at FastTech - Worldwide Free Shipping, springy :(
With this one I cut a longer piece and really keep tension on the wrapping, Then pull it tight with the tweezers.

This one Titanium Round Wire, 50-ft. Coil, 24-Ga., Soft, is soft not springy at all, really nice to work with :) A bit more money but worth it!

I have been using the RG one a lot & the FT one very little, I will probably buy more of the soft one when I'm out :)

I love the Ti for TC :) I use 316L SS for non TC, works nice :)
Never really used SS much for TC cause the Ti works so well for me :)

If the Drone was 100' in the air, she committed a federal crime by firing on a registered aircraft as she does not own the airspace over her property. Be interesting to see if these guys that were flying were high enough & want to press the issue, or if they were indeed up to no good, trespassing, & take the loss.

It should be noted that the FAA has since set guidelines for small UAV use between 100' and 500' (with a recommendation of 100' separation - most drones are programmed to include a 400' ceiling in GPS Mode). Amazon was trying to Hijack the national airspace between 200' & 400' for their proposed automated package delivery service & this was not well received in hobby flying circles.

I cant say I would blame her. 100' or not! flying over private property is a no no in my books.
Funny in some states you can shoot an intruder on your property But! not a drone if it's over 100' in the air.

Nice, it's great stuff isn't it? I love rayon but I've been away from building coils for some time, now I'm building different atty's then I had before and now struggle with getting the right amount in the coil and thinning the tails correctly. Each atty and style of coil means a change in how to wick it, at least that's my experience. Tails, in the past I had found less is better, much less. I have had tails so thin I was sure they would never work but was amazed they do. I cut on an angle and fanned so the ends of the fibers just lie on and cover the feed holes or slots feeds well and no leaks, but I use very high VG ratio's. I followed Jeremy for a long time from early on but dropped off the thread about a year ago, don't know if much info has changed since then, I should resubscribe now that I'm back to building my own coils again.

I'm intrigued with your idea of using monitor to tweak your wicking and would love to see some pics, if you have any, and read tips on how the curves and tweaks are related. What are you changing to get the curve your looking for, amount in the coil, tails or both?
There's really nothing special I'm doing except checking it in EScribe to see if it matches my expectations. In the case of a Kayfun v5 if there's too much tail on the deck it restricts the juice, TGTII got to have just the right amount in the juice holes(if wicked that way. I try to keep my coil ID to the size of the air hole (near) and max wattage is determined by air flow. Pretty much the same as everyone else except I'm making adjustment using live view. I use thin juice 75/25 and in a lot of cases I increase the size of the juice feed holes to get "a bit more". Also I try to have as much of the coil inside the air path which tranlates to a kind of short coil.

Yeah, thinning the tail really is important with rayon. But I'm surprised you can see the relation in monitor, never would have thought looking at a curve would be a clue to wicking! I'll be honest, once I have a setting I've settle on I seldom look at monitor unless it seems like the vape has gone out of wack, too hot or too cool with low vapor. That's cool and I've learned something new today, thanks for sharing! :)

From the comments section of the news article about the shooting

FYI: Seems the law in Canada is similar as this guy seems well aware of it.

I jumped on the rayon wagon I guess about when Jeremy got the thread going, I never spent much time there. It's a great thread with lots of good info. The only time I use cotton is to do a cotton burn test. I got into using cotton early on too but made the switch to rayon as soon as I realized it wasn't similar to nylon......LOL (thought it was plastic, nylon cord tires, rayon cord tires, ect.)
