Only NOD32 is AV, the other two are anti-malware.
I use the free version of Malwarebytes so it only runs when I run it. NOD32 is always running.
I can't remember Defender ever giving a peep.
NOD32 looks to be fast, focused and highly configurable. I am a techie myself so I like the configurable part. And I don't mind paying for good protection. When I put on the google-fu looking for tech solutions I never know what kind of questionable sites I'm going to come across so I actually need above average protection.

Defender built into Win 10 is AV AFAIK and disables itself when you install 3rd party AV. I think in this case the firewall will still be active IDK.

I closed the back doors during installation (I think) and the jury is still out on whether I'll just buy a 6th gen CPU and backtrack with my Win 7 Ultimate license but I'm going to give it the good ole college try.

Thank you for the suggestion. :thumb:

I learn something everyday..LOL
Way back I used Giant Anti-Spyware
Cut from this page:
Windows Defender - Wikipedia
Basic features[edit]
Before Windows 8, Windows Defender protected against spyware.[2] It included a number of real-time security agents that monitored several common areas of Windows for changes which might have been caused by spyware. It also included the ability to easily remove installed ActiveX software. Windows Defender featured integrated support for Microsoft SpyNet that allows users to report to Microsoft what they consider to be spyware, and what applications and device drivers they allow to be installed on their system. Protection against viruses was added in Windows 8; Windows Defender in Windows 8 resembles Microsoft Security Essentials (MSE) and uses the same virus definitions.

In Windows 10, Windows Defender settings are controlled by the Settings app, and the Settings button opens the Settings app. In the Windows 10 Anniversary Update, toast notifications appear to announce the results of a scan, even if no viruses are found. The same update introduced a new flat logo

I only have Win10 on one machine. Win7 on all others.
EDIT: When I get to work I shall make sure that only one AV is running on my laptop.(Win10)
EDIT #2: I couldn't wait, I checked it and Defender is turned off.

I had an unexpected problem with it, something about some start times not matching. I'm playing it on the computer that's connected to to TV.....easiest way at the moment.
And gee, it's 3 years old...........DUH

Like the Lic Key
I uninstalled that and got the free "limited function" version with Mike's link. Pretty good, it has a button to check the file for Cinavia and using a "lesser method" it quickly converted (copied) the movie in 5 min. Sound quality seems OK, still testing, might even buy it. I think I've only paid for software like 3 or 4 times ever.

Same here, I don't pay for software unless I really need it, plenty of shareware's out there. I did have to lease software when I had my auto damage appraisal business, weren't cheap but if you want to play the game....

@Rossum or whoever, I've been looking at lightweight mech squonkers (3D printed single 18650). Just need a beater for working in very dirty environments. Frankenskull? Boxer? Other recommendations?

Get a Reo Grand! you can't kill them :) Probably best choice for a durable "Mec Squonker" :)

Had my second checkup with the doc today, he said the throat looks good! I asked him again about vaping, "Still of the opinion vaping won't hurt me?" In the accent of someone from India he replied, "No, no, your fine, just do not smoke any more. Go enjoy your vape and do not worry." :thumb:
