There has got to be a way to make a decent drum roaster with inexpensive parts. I’d have thought you would have come up with one Mike. You seem quite resourceful in that way.
Dual 3mm 6 wrap 28g claptons is really pushing the limits of a dna75. I would limit the wraps to 5. What atty are you using?
As asked in the other thread, which DNA is it?
If you look at the datasheet for a DNA75 you will see that as the ohms go up, the maximum power goes down.
They dont show SS.

Since you are new to TC, I would try a normal coil first, before jumping into dual claptons. You are kind of jumping in the deep end of the pool before learning to swim. Get the hang of it on a single wrap. Claptons have a lot more metal mass, and that requires more current to get to a specified temp.

First morning in a week I can open the whole forum. Before it was only the top part, but the whole thing wouldn't display. Both the new Aluminum and the old ECF. Happy I can finally have my morning coffee again. I was getting kinda frustrated there.
Jut a quick one here. I assume you're in VW and not TC yet. When you say a 0.5 ohm coil is good to 75W, just what coil and tank do you mean. There are lots of 0.5 ohm coils out there (including whatever you dream up yourself) and so any sort of rule like "good to 75W" isn't really meaningful. More info would help a lot.
Oh, and also, a 166 board (which is a 250 board but with only 2 batteries) is good to 9V not 6v (that's the older DNA 75 board).

Wait, I though the regulator topology of the DNA 200/250 series was buck-only?
If so, you can't get 9V out of it when run in 133/166 configuration with only 2 cells, where the input voltage maxes out at 8.4.
