Sitting down, facing forward.
Willie, I put one on this laptop. Granted I use it in the living room maybe 30 feet from the router but it routinely connects at 275Mbps and better. Worth the try if you've got a USB port to plug it in to. The other trick would be use power line adapters and an extender in the shop.

Question for you guys, I use my little notebook in the shop hooked up to a monitor for looking up info on the web while out in the shop, I'm on the edge of a decent wifi signal, it sometimes lags badly. Opening up the notebook I see it has an integrated wifi module much like the removable lap top module below, it has a very short plug in antenna lead. Can I strip back the wire of the antenna lead and add some length of wire to get a better signal or change the antenna out for a longer one? Or are these antenna leads tuned and matched to the module and can't be messed with?

Willy,I have seen guys solder leads to those wires and put a connector mounted throuth the laptop case and use 1 of those rubber screw on antennas and they worked great. they use to pick up access point signals no one could plus some other nafarious things with them.LOL

Can you take a pic of the fitting with the antenna off? If its the one I think you can replace it with a stronger antenna.

Try this though instead, if you have an external antenna, coat some tape with salt & put that over, or the inside of a plastic bottle with salt & put that over the antenna... & no I'm not screwing with you salt actually does put a wifi signal into the correct phase.
Extra paint in an area, and as it rolls down the wall, it sorta creates a noticeable ¼ inch high bump. This is Gold. On the non attached end of the roller tube. That area will/can leave a defined line of paint, or even sorta splatter. I always do that as well.

Are you actually doing walls with those mini rollers? And did ya notice the ends of the roller handles are threaded for paint/broom sticks?
Yeah I got these short ones

but I'm just painting small walls & doing touch ups, so I didn't think I needed the big ones, I kind of feel like I can control these better... Plus I want to use that Wooster pelican bucket & these fit in. & I do have one pole that I can put them on but I haven't been using it, should I?

Thanks for the advice btw everyone, it really helped, my gf actually took over bc she's much better at this. But I'm still doing the small brush stuff, I got a 3pack of really nice ones, I didn't actually know you could get paint brushes this good.

I'm also wondering if I'm using the right rollers, I've got several kinds but neither of us is sure which to use...

The problem was I ended up painting a wall I didn't expect to be, bc the painters had painted a panel on, that was on top of the bathroom exhaust fan, which had gotten some drywall or something sucked into it & was clicking, so I had to pull it off & ended up peeling a bunch of paint off...

so yeah I started painting that, saw some spots where dirt must have gotten in the paint a bit lower, paint those, basically by the time I know it I've painted half the wall & not particularly well.

Looking at your pic near your thermostat, I probably would not. By using the stick, the hand closer to the roller applies the pressure only, while the other is responsible for the motion. Standing away from the wall with the stick, I find it less fatiguing as it's all arms, much less bending, and much quicker

Also, can I reuse those rollers? If so how many times?

Yeah I got that for the place above the shower bc my gf decided she wanted to be the one to do the area while I do the edges, but she is pretty short.

Sure. Wrap them in Saran Wrap if you're not finished with the color. It'll stay moist. I'll use a different/new one for a new color, you have no idea how much paint it holds until you go to wash it out. We've done the washing thing as well

Here's a tip, those poles are the same size thread as on most broom handles so you can always use a broom handle unless you need to reach further.

After 30 years here and going through brooms, house, outside and shop brooms, I have an ample supply of spare poles now, I've saved a bunch of the better ones over the years.

If you ever watched the movie Grand Torino with Clint Eastwood, there's the scene where he and the kid are in the garage and the kid asked Walt, "How did you get all these tools", I think about that from time to time, thought about it again today while working on the son in laws car. I made him come over and do some of the work today, once again he was surprised when I dug around and found things I needed, I pulled that line on him, "A man acquires all these things after 30 years."

I love that movie, Walt's looks back at his life and suddenly he faces that he's closer to the end then he is "young". Time creeps up on you and one day you realize most of your life is already behind you. Rage against the dying of the light....

If you haven't watched the movie you can watch it here for free. Watch Gran Torino (2008) Full Movie on FMovies.to

I also own a couple of those M1 Garand rifles so if you wander onto my property uninvited......

Yeah I've seen it. Unfortunately my ex has the lion's share of my tools & my snap on roller/toolbox, I had to get out of there with what I could carry basically, just my carry toolbox stuffed with tools. I've had to build back up my supply of tools.
Never seen one in a home, no idea but I bet you find a user manual for one online.
It just says "you may add steam to the cycle" blah blah. It's just an option to add steam to any if the cycle besides the non-sensor dry/manual dry mode, I tried it without any clothes in & it's slightly damp inside, & I found a droplet of water near the filter. I just don't get what it's supposed to be for, why would I want my clothes damp if I put them in the dryer

I guess it would be nice to throw wrinkled clothes in there and let it steam them for a few minuets, other then that I can't think of another use but we are men so.....

I'm sorry you lost your tools and other stuff, I'm sure that hurts. But life is too short to live in a bad situation, I've seen friends of mine stay in an unhappy marriage for the sake of convenience and I've seen them live in misery.

A good friend of mine, Ed, stayed with his wife, both wanted to leave but neither would make the move, the kids were all grown up and on their own. They lived in NJ and bought a place up here in the country of NY for a summer place. He would come over and tell me how bad it was, then his wife would come over and tell us the same thing. There was always some reason why they couldn't leave each other, holidays were coming, one of the kids were graduating. I told both of them there will never be a good time, in the mean time your both miserable. After a couple years Ed got sick, real sick, after some long stays in the hospital and surgery's he was OK for about a year, his wife did the bare minimum to care for him. When he was up here I would drive him to his dialysis treatments and sit with him then he got worse and returned to NJ. His wife once again wasn't taking care of him, she told us one day she met another guy, she was seeing someone else while he was so sick and nearing the end. She put him in a nursing home and was then free to live her happy life while he rotted in that home. I went down to see him, he was in worse shape then anyone had told me, I got a nurse off to the side and she told me they didn't expect him to live more then two weeks, I had no idea. I could only stay a few days, I knew it was the last time I'd see my friend, the last day I was there Ed said to me, "When I get out of here I want to come up to NY and have you take me to that spot on the lake where we caught all those fish that one time." I told him, "It's a deal Ed, you have my word we'll go fishing again." Tears ran down his face, we both knew it would never happen, a week later Ed passed. His wife came up the next summer, she came over to our house with her new boyfriend expecting everything to be the same as if it was Ed, I made it clear she and her new bed buddy weren't welcome, I'll never forgive her for leaving him in that nursing home while she was out having the time of her life. So lesson learned, that's what can happen if you stay with an unhappy marriage, like I said, life's too short.

Btw does anybody have a steam dryer? w/ the cold water hose to the dryer as well as the washer? I don't get when/how that should used? (steam)

    listen to willy, kiba! ;)

i use it if i forget a load in the dryer which happens quite often :p strange though that you can add steam to most of the cycles. :?:
i have 3 cycles that add steam automatically: refresh, rapid refresh and sanitize. but no option anywhere to add or leave out steam on those cycles or any others.

I just wet a towel with water and throw it in there, never bothered to hook up the extra hose for the 3 times a year I might need it.
