Same here.I'm not playing notax games with the IRS and US govt just to get vape gear, free or otherwise.
I make/vape NETs (Naturally Extracted Tobaccos). While Paypal now forbids vape related purchases, I still purchase the tobaccos I extract using....Paypal. I buy most of my tobaccos from online vendors SmokingPipes and Pipesandcigars (dot com) so it's not like it's under the radar stealth purchases. Seems Paypal has no problem with tobacco purchases, just vape. Sure doesn't seem right to me.
At the later part of my Smoking Career, I smoked a Pipe as a way to cut back on Cigarettes. And have done Numerous Purchases from SmokingPipes. A Great Retailer all the way around.
I would be Very Surprised if SmokingPipes had more than a handful of Disputed Orders in a Year that needed PayPal intervention.
Whereas someone like FT probably has a Handful every week. And the Majority if not Most of those are probably e-Cigarette or e-Cigarette related orders.
So when Paypal talks about "High Risk" Categories of products, I don't see them saying that a Product is a Risk to use. More that it is a Higher Risk of having to deal with Order Problems.
It looks like they don’t sell gift certificates at HG? Damn, they are the only ones that have the dolphin mods I need for my husband. Hopefully they’ll figure out something soon. I assume they will as I’m sure they’re taking a big hit to their business by not having any payment options for US customers.

You can a gift card at FT. But not at HG, for some reason.
I too have an item I want to buy from HG because they are the cheapest by quite a bit (which is odd because they are usually the most expensive lol)
I've emailed them 2 times since they stopped taking paypal and the answer is the same. We don't take paypal because paypal does not allow ecig payments and we cannot find a processor for USA customers.
I think HG totally lost their PP account or they would have thought of the Gift Certificate loophole (you'd think anyhow).
And they don't even take crypto currency. I'd actually learn how to do the crypto thing just to buy that item I want. Even after shipping (which is also high) they are still the cheapest by a longshot.
BTW: I take it FT doesn't carry them? They are having a 10% off sale, just a few hours left. Code is CANDY2020
Unfortunately the Dolphins are discontinued at FT.
As an aside, I had no problems using PP with FT only a few days ago.
I emailed HG about the payment issues for US customers and they said their finance department is “working on it”. One would think they’d resolve this ASAP as I assume they’re losing a lot of business from US based customers
For sure. And because PP was the only payment option HG offered for UK and AU, those customers are lost as well.
Daym, I encountered this yesterday and was hoping it was an anomaly. If I cant use PayPal and get protection, I wont be buying from them...havent had any trouble using paypal with other websites buying vape gear this week...how confusing...

ORLY! DAYM DAYM DAYM! Thanks for sharing...Even some Australian vape sites are joining in too
I've received 3 emails now from OZ sites saying PayPal is no go with them anymore
