ok guys I have a question , I rebuilt my 3/32 fc wick with 30 ga wire and im sitting at 2.0 ohms using the torch to wrap the wire . what would you set the watts at for the best flavor . im sitting at 7.5 now .
thanks
oh and before I forget. ive run some dark juices through the tank before the rebuild and built up some gunk on the wire and wick. can I just leave the wire in place and use a torch to burn the gunk off or should I rebuild with new wire . :)

ok, this is awesome!!! it seems my vamo works ok now.. but it has to be in N02 mode. for some reason in N01 mode, it isnt regulating watts or volts. i remember putting it in N02 mode when i got it cuz i was told it is more acurate than N01 mode. but somewhere along the line, it ended up in N01 mode and was malfunctioning.

just tested it thuroughly in N02 mode, and its working correctly. also, i figured out how to adjust the top piece on the aga-t wick position so it is facing me.. so now when i tilt it, its getting juice! wow.. im glad the thing caught fire, or id still be raging over the Vamo. thanks for all the help!

I made a 3/32 for my mini DID yesterday and attempted a EHW on it. DIDn't work. Then I tried to coil directly on the mini... nerve wracking task. DIDn't make it.
Chapeau to anyone that has been successful coiling the 3/32s especially you vap!

you know i have wrapped quite a few 3/32 wicks, and so far so good, now i am looking at my other container of 3/32 wicks and they look smaller. i do believe that the wicks can be either a little larger then, or a little bigger then, so the ones that i was sucessful at could of been a little bigger then. now these other 3/32 i have will test me for sure. word has it that although they are discontinuing the 3/32 wicks, they will be making a 7/64 size, which i believe is between the 3/32 & 1/8th.

Just got my first mechanical mod up and running (Uranos). Wrapped a 1.2ohm coil with 30g wire and managed to get it pretty tight even though I am not set up to do hot wraps yet. This wick was nicely broken in and I have been using it for over a week now. Boiled it, then heated over the stove and it was as clean as a whistle again. Stuck a fresh battery in and I calculate that I am vaping at around 14 watts (what??). Holy head-spins batman! No dry hits and man am I getting smashed by the nicotine. I might have to reconsider my 36 mg mixes. This is uber potent. Best vape I have ever had without question. The absolute pinnacle of my journal so far.

love hearing this!

hey buddy i would go to about 4.7 to 4.9v. personally i would reduce the resistance a little. you probably have 7 or more wraps on the wick with the 30g, this makes the heat up time a little to slow and requires more voltage. if you were to reduce the resistance to about 1.2 to 1.6, i think you would get a better vape. if your mod will let you go lower, i would do a 4/5 wrap @ 1.1Ω, this imo is the best vape for the 3/32 wick. also if you just pull out the wick you can torch it with the wires in place, then rinse tank and re-install wick

Choices....Choices..... .5mm on the left, .8mm on the right. Both hot wrapped.

The .8mm is really smoooooth. But every time I hit the button I hear my battery says "no mas". The .8mm needs to pull full amps (~3.4) and it still needs a second or two or three to revv up.

so how does the 5mm hit? the 8mm sound a little slow just like i have found with the 28g.

not sure if they fix them, but its fine in n02 mode, so its all good. speaking of airholes.. anyone with an aga-t and a ceramic wick bore out their air hole and get better vapes? i was thinking about opening it to 1/16th.

A 1/16" airhole has about the same draw as breathing with your mouth open. I'm happy with one @ 3/64 or two air holes @ 1/32". If you want just a little bigger air hole, shove something like a fat safety pin tip in there and wiggle it around for a minute or so.

I get my 3/32 wicks today so I'll be setting up my AGAt2 this evening and running it on a P18. I think the ZAP needs a bigger air hole or a smaller wick........anybody else out there using a ZAP with a 1/8" wick??

I'm running two ZAPs - one w/ 1/8" FC-2000 and one w/ 1/8" Fishstick (actually ~.120"), wrapped w/ 30g Kanthal. Both are working fine.

edit: they do like a good tilt or even horizontal - but that's my normal positions even w/ SS or tanks so it's not a bother for me.

Masterful - you have the touch sir! :toast:

Hey Elias, hows this look :)

The pos post is just a stud you can touch the wire to to pulse the temp of the wire. The neg screw supports the wick from breaking due to tension and provides neg continuity. By unscrewing the bolt you can lay down perfectly spaced hot wraps depending on the pitch or TPI of the threads of the bolt.

hey dan, this looks really nice, and seems like it would be a little easier to wrap a coil compared to the ehw. how would you compare the results of the two methods(ehw and yours)?
