Finally got all my ceramic wicks, AGA-T2s and other stuff together to make this happen.
Pictured above, 1 of 2 AGA-T2 wickholes were just milled out to 9/16. Lots of clearance for the juice to get up the sides of these 1/8 CF-2000s.
A third was done to 4mm for big fat-a$$ed SS mesh wicks for the workaday world.
Summary ... where do I begin?
3/4 @ 30ga Kanthal hand-wrapped very tightly, took my sweet time to make sure no voids or looseness existed. I was surprised it didn't break, since the first of the three was accidentally wasted trying to snap on the cap. I was able to keep consistent pressure while coiling the unit in my hand.
Fired it up, No shorts, no hot spots, no coil adjustments necessary. All was just perfect right off the get-go.
Gradually ran 12mls of PG through the genny over a span of 12 hours before it was apparent she was broken in with major vapor kicking up.
First of all, the vape, in contrast to SS ... is almost invariably consistent -- no dry hits, no tilting -- same vape every time. Better than 50% more vapor production and throat hit.
Flavor ... I'm blown away. I thought Clearos to SS mesh RBAs was a major step, this one to ceramic wicks just as stellar. A DIY concoction I had made some time ago I was certain I must have forgotten to add -- a touch of vanilla ... was right here -- all the flavor nuances and subtleties shining through. You don't know what you are missing folks, for those who haven't jumped in yet. I still can't believe the awesome taste of this juice I'm vaping right now -- chain-vaping away uninterrupted, no dry hits. After having vaped the ceramic wick for an hour, the ss mesh one seems tasteless ... lol
A strong vendor flavored juice I purchased several months ago mix-designated for clearos had been lingering on the shelf. I mixed 2 drops with 1 ml of unflavoured juice and got better concentrated taste with the ceramic wick than I would have unmixed in a clearo. This may spell a new era for DIY and made simple -- just use your fav vendor juice. My flavored juice stash just went from 2 months to 2 years ... lol
I just ordered another dozen CF 2000 wicks. I'm done with ss, I'm done with hot spots ... except where some conditions would place the ceramics at risk. Oddly enough my batteries are now lasting longer not being leeched away by continuous partial SS shorts.
Hopefully gennys with 1/8 inch wickholes and larger become a standard in the future. I would say with ceramics, vaping has just about become perfect.
