forgot it was the slotted, sorry about that. your right those do show up as gaps. glad to hear its performing well, and it will continue to get even better. so that's cool you opened up both, wick and air? awesome
Yeah, the draw was much to constricted for my liking. I'm not that picky about the draw usually, but I don't want to have to work for my vape, and the original air hole on the cobra was pushing it. I am much more satisfied now - the air hole on my Cobra is now just smaller then the hole on my ZAP.

If you drilled it by holding it with your hand, I don't doubt you had problems. If you use a drill press, or even one of those drill-stand adapters for a hand drill & some cutting oil, drilling Titanium isn't that bad. I've done a bunch of Ti motorcycle and gun parts using just a cheapie drill stand. While it take a bit of time, its not any more difficult than drilling Stainless Steel....even with a cobalt bit. I've used both Ti & cobalt bits and both worked about the same as long as they are kept cool.

Titanium work-hardens with heat, so if you get it too hot, it makes it even more difficult to drill. The real trick is to use SLOW speed ,and plenty of cutting fluid - I use Kroil, but tap & die lube works fine also. The Cobra deck is pretty thick to boot, so you really need to take your time. Don't try to drill it in one continuous operation - back off once in a while to let things cool down, drill slowly so you don't get any galling, and use plenty of lubricant.

No biggie...at least you got it done, and it looks like i works fine. Nice job!

hey guys, you know I have always enjoyed low resistances, whether it was when I vaped mesh and now with ceramic. I have always preferred it much more then higher resistances. when I first started vaping gennys a year ago I used 32g at resistances around 2-2.5 Ω. I only did these resistances for a month before getting into lower resistances with thicker wires. so comparing the two, I much prefer a thicker wire & lower resistances to a thinner wire at higher resistances. now one thing I have really never tried is high resistance vaping with a thicker wire. lets say a 2 ohm coil at 5.5v with maybe 29g wire. I figured with the 29g it might be possible to make this amount of wraps, im guessing about 8 wraps? anyways, has anyone tried this? the only downfall might be a long heat up time but with almost 6 volts , I don't know. I do know that with all those wraps the temperature of the wire should be rather cool compared to what most are doing so the flavor should be better? maybe the only problem is that you would need more voltage to push that length of thick wire which may require stacking batterys(which I have never done) or one of those new dna20 mods which I believe can push to 20 watts protected. whats you guys think?

You can try, but you may not be pleased. Yes, your assumption about lower res wire at 2.5 ohms taking longer to heat up. I've tried it, and hated it. I'd rather vape 1.2 ohm 28g coil at 3.8V.

that's what I thought, I just thought that if you got just the right number of wraps that would react not to slowly at a higher wattage, that maybe it might work. maybe not 2.5 ohms, but like 1.8 ish. I know that to many and it will be slow. I don't know, im just so happy really with my low resistance set-up that im bored and want to try something else.

1.8ish is the highest I'd go with SS. Ceramic, imo, should be much lower.
