Fda crackdown looms

Hell, you can buy bongs in half a dozen head shops in town. They KNOW they are using those for illegal drugs. Tell me big tobacco isn't subsidizing this action.
Well how stinkin true is that?! One of the flea markets near my location not only sells bongs, but 'bowls' as well. They come in little kits! How is that acceptable?!!
And I have been working on becoming a distributor in my area as this is prime location. Doesnt this just screw my world up?
GRRRRRR.....

AMEN!

We need to get our suppliers to drop any mention of these things as being healthy. They need to be listed as what they are, alternatives to tobacco smoking, and that's it.

Just vaporizers. That's all they are. Just sell the ones that look like penlights and get rid of the cigarette appearance to begin with and it should be all good. Maybe. Still - like other articles have pointed out - the issue is not necessarily the device. It's the behavior it mimics. Some people can not get past that.

Hey - it's either that or they turn you into a pedophile, right?

Lol this has more to do with some idiots in the FDA trying to spare their jobs I think. There is no logical reason to ban these things. Not everyone uses nicotine in them. Big Pharma, Big tobacco don't like people edging in on their turf I guess? Well, we still should be able to get our nic liquid in a plain brown wrapper discretely labeled as something other than e juice?

Let's just call it liquid crack.

If you peruse the FDA website (U S Food and Drug Administration Home Page), you can see several instances of shipments of electronic cigarettes and cartridges that apparently were never released. This includes shipments from one of Janty's bigger suppliers. The two primary reasons the shipments were stopped by the FDA were referred to as UNAPPROVED and NOT LISTED. I have not researched this enough to know if these were problems with the labelling of the product, improper licesning of the shipper or receiver or a general crackdown prompted by internal memos and whatnot.

UNAPPROVED - Section: 505(a), 801(a)(3); UNAPPROVED NEW DRUG Charge: The article appears to be a new drug without an approved new drug application.

NOT LISTED - Section: 502(o), 801(a)(3); MISBRANDING Charge: It appears the drug or device is not included in a list required by Section 510(j), or a notice or other information respecting it was not provided as required by section 510(j) or 510(k).

Rubber knife....These people are a real piece of work.

I suppose their point is a little like saying, well why would you drive a hybrid? It's still runs just like a car, and cars are bad for the environment. Although Hybrids do have less emissions they still run on gas.....BAD BAD BAD!

Perhaps the marketing that will come to hurt us most is : 'it's a way around the smoking ban'.

Need to not say this, and make no health claims (stupid indeed, but these days even a vitamin can't make a health claim!), including that its a way to stop smoking (again, stupid), and not mention smoking even (except that its an alternative to smoking). Even if all these points of entry for intereference are closed, they might prohibit or restrict sale of nicotine liquids. And for those of us who like their nicotine, this is the one thing that would be difficult to be self-sufficient in. Just hope sense prevails, but government/lovvyists/big business does not work according to common sense; illogical laws happen because its not really about health, its about power and profit for those with the power.

You know what pisses them off... is the fact that they are not getting their cut in massive taxation.

That is damn right. It is not about our health, the kids health, just the damn green.

I have a feeling the non smokers and politicians are ...... because we are getting around their bans also. A non smoking zealot HATES to see anyone smoke, be it movies, advertising, or from a distance. Hey, I don't think we should be allowed to vape at school events. Children are impressionable. Still, these people just hate to see us enjoying ourselves. Or DISOBEYING them.

The FDA officials will come up with some trumped up evidence against vaping. The zealots will then line up with torches and pitchforks, doing the "Right" thing. Saving me from myself.

Perfect comeback for that argument!

"I understand why people use the nicotine replacement aids,'' said Serena Chen, regional tobacco policy director of the American Lung Association in California. "But I don't understand why people want to pretend that they're smoking.''

Who gives a crap if you understand it? I don't understand why they asked someone from the ALA anyway, it's not a cigarette!

Or maybe this is the workings of our Big Tobacco buddies..WE NEED TO DO SOMETHING TO STOP THIS...I see posts on here that has been viewed more than 22,000 times on one single thread..How many members do we actually have World-wide on this forum alone??? Surely with our outstanding numbers we can do something about this bullsh*t.
Being pollution free, harmless and odorless to others and the environment, containing only 3 main ingredients of 4,000 to a regular cigarette. We can have so many pressing arguments and key elements to stop electronic cigarettes from being illegal. WE NEED TO MAKE OUR VOICES HEARD!

Maybe they need to ban pens and pencils too... after all, Johnny Carson had those special 'eraser at both ends' pencils to figit with when he quit.

At this point forward, it is up to companies like Njoy to do what's right and represent the e-smoking movement for what it truly is. BS and lies aside. Yes, no long-term tests have been done on the effects of inhaling PG/VG. Yes, there aren't any overall documentations on the risks of long-term e-smoking in general, but fact of the matter is, they were never, or should never be advertised as a cessation device, or an aid of any sort. It is simply an alternative to smoking.

Anyone who chooses to use this device as a quit smoking aid is indeed making a healthy and positive choice, but it's their choice, not the intended advertisement of the product. If I were to jog 30 minutes a day to quit smoking, that would be my personal aid. Same thing applies for electronic cigarettes.

Also, I say Njoy because they are probably the biggest and most commercially successful company on the market right now, and it also helps that they are an American company because it's always easier to deal with issues in-house.

Honestly though, a year from now, I see e-liquids being highly regulated. Probably nothing over 12mg in strength. Same goes for cartridges.
