Now that April Fool's day is over, I would like to thank everyone for being such good sports, it's all in good fun. The scary thing is that this could very soon be a real headline.
The April just before the deeming was released, there was a vape company that posted something on their website along the lines of that the FDA was seizing all vape related imports at customs starting immediately...that joke was not not well received, as I seem to remember it.

I'm afraid it was funny because of the "heart stopping moments."

Unfortunately, there is this saying, "It's funny because it's true... " Sadly.

Of course, and I do like a good joke. I'm just saying, it would be nice to joke around without these things ever having a chance to become reality :)

More of a comment on the status quo regarding the vape industry and its continued assault by big tobacco and the FDA.

Bottom line, Letitia, I agree, self-sufficiency is the only sure way to protect yourself.

I've been wondering if big pharma wins this one if it will cripple medicare/aid here in the US. Regardless I do know I will be buying a liter of salts every month for the next few months.

Big Pharma always wins they are the only industry that is allowed to create the most addicts and cause the most deaths and given the green light to do so freely.

Yeah I don't know how tobacco "escaped them." I do remember Anais Nin (for some ungodly reason, I read them all as a teen, until she got a little too... odd, and also gross) but she was a heavy smoker with TB, and her doctor prescribed "more cigarettes" to treat her TB (I will admit feeling a bit envious of that fact, at the time, since I was pretty sure that I was going to die via cigarette, and might've preferred the "blissful ignorance" strategy, honestly).

But at some point (probably pre FDA, most likely) doctors were prescribing cigarettes to strengthen lung function.

So, it's so good that the FDA is NOW involved.... And that vaping is what got us there. Etc.

Funny because it's true... SADLY. Unfortunately there are a certain subset of jokes that are only funny because we get the "OMG" sensation and issue, followed by an immediate RELEASE via laughter.

So yeah, that joke would ONLY be funny because it had the possibility of truth, otherwise it wouldn't have been as funny. I can totally see the "other" joke being less funny, especially if it were not immediately followed by a secondary "Fooled you" posting, which I don't know how long they left it up there, without comment, but if they did... .I could see a lack of "collective humor" for sure...

And yes, it's also called "laughing instead of crying." LOL.

Got me and it's the next day lol. Even a newbie can tell this is funny because of the gotcha moments. It's like telling your partner you're pregnant, true or not. It might turn out to be a good thing but in that first moment your heart stops and you wish you were dead ;)

I'm not so sure that having the FDA involved is such a great idea. I'd be a lot happier if they really had our best interests in mind instead of BT, BP, and their own interests in mind.

Sorry @Baditude , that was actually sarcasm. I actually think it's horrible that the FDA became involved, they are only equipped to regulate and really have never dealt with either tobacco or vape I worry it will become "commoditized" and tracked, like every other thing the FDA gets its sticky little paws on.

In related news, all Chinese mod & atty manufacturers have legally changed their company names to "Pod Systems inc." :)

Well not "freely". BP spends tens of millions of dollars each year bribing politicians in order for that "green light" to stay green. More $$$ than BT, big oil or the NRA. Of course what I consider to be a bribe the SCOTUS has ruled is "free speech" so with that in mind it's safe to say BP does a lot of BIG talking in Washington. Likely why U.S. citizens pay 3 times more for the top five prescription drugs than citizens of any other high income nation in the world. Just imagine what vaping would cost if the FDA managed to hand it over to BP. o_O
