No offense, but this really is just a feel good pseudo-petition that may be good for raising public awareness, but it's not a proper petition. It has no specific action goal and no target. What specifically are we asking the FDA to do? Where are the facts and sources to back up the claims? Who is the target person this petition is being sent to? Where is the letter of demand being sent to the target? How will it be followed up?
Look at this petition that was a "success." Economic Justice Petition: Tell Bank of America: No $5 Debit Card Fees | Change.org. Note specific facts, a specific request and a specific target, with a well-written demand letter.
I'm not trying to be mean or anything, but these kinds of things pop up all of the time and take away from real advocacy and activism - people sign something like this and miss the real thing or think "I already did my part."
If you want to sign a proper petition meant to cause actual change, please also sign this one (if you haven't already): An E-cigarette Petition to the AAP, ACS, AHA, American Legacy Foundation, ALA, AMA, ASH, FDA, Public Citizen CTFK and Americans for Nonsmokers Rights
Thanks!
