Waste of time and money, nobody pays any attention to these warnings.
 Oh but they do Lujin, they do  For a time I worked as a cashier in a truck stop. Got to see, talk to and becomes friends with people from all over. One day a guy from Canada came into the restaurant. He was carrying his cigarettes & laid them down on the counter. I don't recall the brand but I recall very much so the package. It had a very disturbing picture on it of a decaying person and a baby. I guess that pack was meant for females who were preggo or sumpin I dunno. But I asked him about it. He said that where he was from all the cig packs have pictures & it was posta make us quit smoking. We chuckled and I said well, it must have worked then huh ? I see you're still smoking. I asked if it ever did anything to make him wanna quit. He said Oh, the packaging has been helpful ! I smiled and asked if he'd cut down or something. He said Hell No !! He said, See the picture is on one side of the pack ? I says, Yeah.. Then he says, Well, that's the side of the pack with the pull tab to open it. Now I can open it faster while I'm wanting a smoke and don't have to fiddle with it so much cuz I know right where to open it !...........So as you can see Lujin, peoples DO in fact pay attention to the picture !:laugh::laugh: Just not for the intended reason for it  yup :smokie:

    in a cave, eh?
It had a very disturbing picture on it of a decaying person and a baby.

Yeah, Canadian cigarettes have a bunch of different warnings. Collect them all!

You could argue that since the warnings cover half the pack, the package design as a form of advertising is less effective.

    Anita darlin....that is hilarious!!!
:laugh: Yup it was. kept all of us talking and laughing at the coffee bar part of the restaurant for quite awhile. I miss that job, had a ton of people that taught me so much about all over the country. Nicest people ya ever wanted to meet. I married one of them :?: can't remember why  but it was fun at da moment  I still think back about that day, when I look at ciggiepacks on da shelves in da store :laugh:

They should add a warning: "Images on this packages are graphic and may be unsuitable for children". Wonder if images like this on any other medium would cause riots and protests.
That's a big HELL YEAH !! On dat one I agree :smokie:

I don't like this kind of advertising and put it in the same category as feminine needs commercials and pictures of dead fetuses that are supposed to make us buy douche products and change our mind about abortion. That stuff us all personal choice and I just don't want to see it on television, billboards or magazine ads. I automatically change the channel, flip the page or just ignore that stuff - tired of the brainwashing techniques. We adults.

Anything like this always had the opposite effect on me. In NY they constantly run disturbing commercials showing cancer, cancer patients, black lungs, etc. If anything, they would just depress me to the point of wanting a ciggarette. I wonder if these idiots realize that they're creating a smoking trigger. They should be focusing on the benefits of quitting.

I just finished perusing some of the pictures that will be on the packs. Hmm ... seems a little conflicting with the ads that used to appear in magazines years ago. You know, the ones where a bunch of handsome men and beautiful, youthful looking women are sitting around a campfire smiling and laughing while holding a cigarette in their hands.
