Why is it so hard to be honest?
Because honesty cuts into profits.

Isn't that the truth! There is a commercial out now called [HASHTAG]#imnoangel[/HASHTAG] trying to sell underwear to fat women under the pretense it will make them sexy.

I heard Ralphie May is coming out with a counter commercial with him in Speedo's call [HASHTAG]#imnomruniverse[/HASHTAG]

I would say we are more omnivoires, actually. So, we can eat both meat and plants, but should probably eat more plants than we do. ;)

Exactly what I said -- a wide variety of foods, and not too much meat. To me that seems far healthier than any extreme diet such as vegetarian/vegan.

Supplements are fine; I sometimes take them medicinally (B complex for mouth sores or stress; C for UTI or to stave off an oncoming cold (along with echinacea)), but depending on supplements for basic nutrition seems... short-sighted? There is more to health and good nutrition than what letters we consume.

Oh DC, you need to get out of the sun. I think you have heat stroke! Mayo is great but so is Ketchup, especially together on fries. Mayo and mustard on a hot dog? Especially on a Vienna hot dog, the best hot dogs??? That's a leading indicator of heat stroke.
I had heat stroke once when I was a kid.
Believe me, this is not heat stroke.

Heat stroke is absolutely horrible.
Sucks worse than ketchup.
:D

Some vegans and vegetarians simply don't want to eat animal products, but miss a flavor and texture similar to the product or dish, so they recreate it. Some like the products out there, some hate them and give up the idea of imitation products. I like some vegan mayo and some of the vegan cheeses, but some of the products I like are newer and have much better flavor and textures and the products that were available in the not so distant past.
The market will provide what the consumers want.
As long as that group of consumers has sufficient numbers.

Back in the Atkins Diet low-carb craze, there were enough of us that we started getting low-carb products.
Those products made the Atkins Diet so much easier.

Then the craze died down, and there weren't enough low-carb dieters to support the new low-carb products.
Then it got really hard to go low-carb, unless of course you like vegetables.
:)

Nowadays I will go low-carb for a week whenever I want to knock off a quick five pounds.
Usually before Thanksgiving, Christmas, or going on a cruise.
;)

It's a lot harder without all those low-carb products though.
A week is about all I can take of eggs, butter, cheese, and bacon.

When we do low-carb for a week we always squeeze in two dinners...

1) Red Lobster because we can have all the drawn butter we want
2) Hunter Steakhouse for prime rib

At Red Lobster I get the Caesar Salad option, and take off all but two or three croutons.
At Hunter Steakhouse I scrape all of the potato out, leaving the skins, which I fill with butter, bacon, sour cream, and cheese.

Going low-carb for a week is awesome.
But going beyond a week challenges even the most hardy stomachs.

Someone is selling vegan mayonnaise. The FDA says they can't call it mayonnaise because it doesn't contain eggs.

But they will still classify my Protank and bottle of flavored VG as tobacco products.

FDA Wages War on Vegan Mayo

why sure they will ---- they are communists -- what do you expect? If they have their way, they will ban most everything and leave us with little freedom.

I might try it, to get rid of this stubborn 10 lbs that seems determined to cling to my middle... except I have a huge problem with fats, and cholesterol in particular -- no hamburger, the only beef I can eat is the absolute leanest; no eggs, except for the small amounts in baked goods; and 2% cheese; plus the fact that I suffer from IBS, and without a large daily portion of bran, I couldn't... well, you know. :D Most fruit-based fiber just tears me up -- if I eat a plum, I have to peel it first. Without carbs, I wouldn't be left a lot that I could eat. So I try to stick to more complex carbs.
