....And that is perfectly ok if someone decides for themselves to treat it like smoking......

And if enough vapers take this approach, then it will rightfully be perceived as smoking and rightfully should be banned as a new form of smoking and NO ONE wants another form of smoking or will tolerate it. If you want vaping banned, this is the approach to take.

i used mine in a bar yesterday lunchtime,i did ask the barman first if it was ok to use my vaporizer,he said what is it and i showed him and explained it wasnt burning anything and showed him the juice, he said fine no problem,i really think avoiding the e-cig label is paramount when informing folks what it is your using

This is an excellent approach. And I agree that the term "e-cig" should be avoided at all costs.

For me the exact opposite of what you are saying, is what has actually happened.

You seem to think that your opinion is the only one, your path is the only one

It isnt

LA restaurant is private property, a bar is private property, with the permission of the proprietor I would ( and have ) gladly vape there, but I am not going to do so without their permission. I have my rights and defend them, so do they. And stomping on the rights of others is not the way to get a point across.

I agree totally. Stomping on other people's rights is part of the reason that smoking is so widely banned now. It was smokers making everyone else around them uncomfortable and even putting non-smokers health at risk.

I realize that vaping doesn't do what smoking did with regard to non-smokers/non-vapers, but regardless of the reason, if management of a grocery store doesn't want people vaping, that's their choice. I don't think banning vaping is a good policy for bars and casinos forced to go non-smoking by law, but I understand that it could make it difficult for them to keep their patrons in line with the law if a rowdy smoker sees a vaper puffing away indoors and gets the impression that the barkeep doesn't enforce the law, and then lights up. Personally I think most tavern owners would do well to have an affiliate programs with a handful of ecig vendors and keep cards on the bar and actually promote PV use, but that's just what I would do if I owned a bar.

Not the only one and I value others point of views, but on this issue, definitely the logical one. The historical rule that "perception is reality" has been proved too many times to be thrown aside as not valid.

I will treat it how I choose to treat it and don’t need your permission.

And that is not assuming any logic you claim it does, I also don’t boil vinegar in a restrurant without the proprietors permission, I don’t set off fire extinguishers without their permission, I don’t bring in my own alcohol without their permission ( in the case of wine I often do have their permission )

My logic is to treat a private establishment as exactly that, a private establishment, and to date, my treating it that way has improved thier perception of vapers, no only with the proprietors but with the other customers that were also curious, in places that I now vape inside of where originally I did not.

I am beginning to understand, that you are not going to understand.

I am basically a not in your face kind of person. Indoors I am very conscious as to where I vape. If I feel the urge then I will just go to the ladies room and vape for a bit. If I am in a place where I can be very inconspicuous then I will vape at will. Outside is a completely different story. I know there are places where they have banned smoking at beaches, zoos, etc. At places like these I will still vape but I respect other people and don't do it where there are a lot of people/children. I will just go off to an area by myself. In my own home I vape my head off :) Most people don't even notice. If they do, I think they are waiting for the tell-tale odor of cigarettes and when they don't smell it they pretty much ignore you.

Being an ... to those who want to treat it like smoking won't help matters either. It's dumb to treat it like smoking, but if people choose to be ignorant, aggravating them with trying to change their opinions will not help matters either. Making enemies won't help any more than total acquiescence.

I tend not to vape indoors in public. When I'm in class I'll stealth vape occasionally, but otherwise I'll just go into the restroom and vape in one of the stalls. I'm also self conscious about vaping in crowds (waiting at the bus stop with 20 other strangers around me).

I never did this with analogs so not going to do it with vaping. But I was never one to cater to others or really care with they think.

As far as vaping public places I think it's simple do it where you feel comfortable and if asked to stop kindly explain what it is and if they still want you to stop then stop, if not than keep vaping. As people have stated it's about private property not public property. If the owners aren't comfortable with it then it's their choice. You have to pick your battles and I don't really think it's worth it.

We are all (for the most part) ex smokers and know we couldn't smoke anywhere. Now that we vape (which by a lot of the public is looked at like smoking) we have to respect that and start working on educating the majority but not shutting them off right out of the gate. If you really can't hold off your vaping then something is wrong with you, you did it with analogs, you can do it with vaping. No reason to be a douche about it. Now that being said test the waters and vape if you feel like it. Just be cool about it. It's all about attitude. If you are trying to strong arm your rights to vape you will get shut down and in the long run it will give vaping a bad name. Seriously don't be that "you can't tell me I can't do this" type of person. That's just wrong. Like when I would be smoking in public and someone would say "do you mind putting out your cigarette" I'd say "yes I do mind, but I'll move over here, sorry" I'm not going to blow smoke in the guys face and claim that it's my right to smoke in public and I'll smoke wherever I want.

Also there is nothing wrong with talking to the owner of your local hangout bar and telling him/her about it and having him putting up a "we are a vape friendly bar" sign. Maybe sponsor a "vape night" and invite your vape buddies to hit go to the bar that night and vape away. Talk to those friends and family who have questions or don't want you to do it in their houses. Educate the masses. Show them what it's all about. Teach em what we are doing. Explain it. Have vape parties and BBQs and invite smokes, ex-smokes, vapers, non smokers etc. Hell do it in the dead of winter and when the smokers are outside freezing their butts off and we are all inside vaping away I'm sure you can sell someone your Prodigy V2 and upgrade to a V3.1 right then and there hahaha. Or do it in the summer and everyone can sit outside and smoke, drink, vape and talk etc. It's the old sales trick. If everyone tells 5 people and those 5 people tell 5 people and so on......

Yeah I went on a little ramble there for a moment but point being is there is a time and place for everything and don't be a ..... about it. We all know right from wrong and yes we all have strong feeling about vaping and we know when we are being cool about or arrogant about it.

One of the reasons I originally took up vaping was because of the increasing number of places where smoking was banned, particularly pubs. However, pulling out a lookalike that glows red at the end and emitting clouds of vapour is a bit silly. If you are a vaper, use a PV not something that looks like a cigarette. Also, don't puff out clouds of vapour like the reviewers on You Tube do. That's not the point. I never ask and never have any trouble. Somebody once asked me if my PV was an asthma inhaler and that is about it. If people can't smell smoke, then usually thats enough.

Don't be browbeaten by those who like to interfere in others lives. Worrying about what other people think is a sign of insecurity.

It's more of a matter of me not wanting to attract attention to myself that early in the morning. I want to enjoy my vape, not be paranoid about people giving me awkward looks and having to explain myself. I wouldn't mind smoking an analog there, but a PV is more conspicuous.

“Don't be browbeaten by those who like to interfere in others lives. Worrying about what other people think is a sign of insecurity.”

That is very true.... and something I teach my children.

I make a point of letting people around me know what it is I am doing, and how it is not smoking, and then I let them decide ( if it is their property ) how to treat it, and I don’t complain no matter which way it goes. In public places, I use it as I want too, but I try not to be too "in your face" about it, I don’t walk up to rabid anti-smokers and blow it in their face.

But some folks don’t seem to understand that a bar is not a public place, nor is a store, nor restaurant, or any place of business that you work at, those are all private places, privately owned. ( unless you work for the government )

I honestly don’t think there is much of a difference between what I do and what others do.

I know if I vaped at work at my desk there would be complaints from folks that didn’t know, and I would end up in HR in short order, and then there would be an official company policy forbidding it. Instead I vape outside, but my co-workers who don’t smoke are starting to question why I need to do that. My own management is starting to question it. So when the issue gets to HR, instead of "this guy is doing something like smoking at his desk and we aren’t sure we like that" it will be more like, "Hey this guy is going outside to do this, and we don’t really think he needs to".

Instead of complaints… it will be support.

Like politics, and the stock market, perception can count for more than you expect it too.

Gracious! That thing is terrifying lol I tried a chuck and i'll admit..awesome hit, but I don't think I'd be brave enough to sport that in public. My tornado is the biggest e-cig I take out and about with me.

btw AWESOME!!

I love my chucks! That one was specially made for me with a custom tooled end cap and at five volt regulator. I don't always have the map tank on it but it is the only mod I vape, public and private. Its just a good over built battery IMO and I could never say enough great things about it. Thats my girlie one with the pink endcaps and pink mosey oak.

In regards to the other conversations brewing. One must act grown up, one must still be courteous. It has nothing to do with backbone but if you watch the smaller ban laws get passed it is done by people who have nothing better to do than push their own opinion day and night. All it takes is a few anti's to make our lives hell. Just because it ''isn't smoking'' shouldn't mean we should go out of our way to shove it down everyone's throat. How do you go about arguing it is a better alternative if you are so attached to it that you cannot make it through a trip to the grocery store etc without feeling the need to puff away non-stop? That's just my take on the whole thing, I vape a ton but I really don't feel the need to puff away while waiting in line at the deli counter, no matter how tempted I am or how long the line is!

I'm the same way with vaping...never smoked in the grocery store, Walmart, McDonalds, ect..and never felt like needing it in there. I ask permission in restaurants and have a local bar I go to that allows it, but think (if you can stand the winter cold) to go outside and vape amongst the smokers and depending on the PV used that there will be some ppl that are curious and at least that's what happened to me so far.

I can picture one day that there will be vaping lounges/stores all across the world, but we first need to educate and be respectful instead of being arrogant and a dumbass IMO lol.

I do vape inside the bar i go to and tend to hold in the vapor more so there isn't a huge cloud exiting my mouth, but sometimes it slips out though when someones talking to me...oops :p
