I'm two weeks into vaping and really love it...I've been doing lots of research, reading lots of reviews, etc and I'm ready to purchase my first APV.

The choices I have narrowed down to are the SmokTech S.I.D., The Vamo V2 or V3, and the Sigelei Zmax V3 telescopic. My price range is between $40-$50 range, up to $60 if the deal is good.

Now, I have read a lot of individual reviews on each, PBusardo's Vamo review (couldn't find one of his for SID or Zmax), a number of people talking about the SID and Zmax, but I was hoping to get some feedback with some sort of comparison, if possible, if not any feedback is greatly appreciated.

Some thing I was wondering about:

1. Durability and Feel (anyone drop one, bang it against something and it broke? Does one feel cheaper than the other?)

2. Menu issues (anyone experience any issues with menu not working?)

3. Fire button/menu button issues (anyone experience shortages with fire buttons or menu buttons)

4. Or just any other bug/issues

Also, if anyone knows of any other APV's in that price range, I'm very open to suggestions.

Thanks again for reading and happy vaping

If you are exploring other options outside of the 3 you mentioned i can chip in with the experience with the ones i have.

Depending on what features you are looking for i have to give a thumbs up for the SVD and the MVP both from innokin.

The SVD is an amazing tube mod imho, Ohm checker, battery checker, VV/VW, it's telescopic so you can decide which batteries you want to use. I haven't experienced menu issues whatsoever. And it looks and feels solid and well machined.
The only downside i can think of, the device gets pretty long with 18650 batteries, other than that it's been a great investment.

The MVP on the other hand is a much simpler device, no ohm check, only VV, box format and puff counter. Comes with a 2600mah which lasts a while, i've been using it for 2 days and it's still showing green. Same as with the SVD it solid feels and looks great.

No fire button problems or issues to speak of on both of them.

just my 2 cents :)

I would say Vamo as well. It is very inexpensive (especially from Asia if you have the time) and rock solid.
Or, focusing on the cheaper two, let me put it that way:
- SID if you prefer a lighter device. It is slightly more difficult to adjust IMHO b/c of the menu system.
- Vamo if you don't mind the weight. (or you prefer it). Vamo is so simple to use.

Oh one more thing. Vamo V2 is not the best for ego type clearos. For a T3, for example, you will need to go to Vamo V3 or the SID. (Or you can use the 510-Ego adapters)

I have the vamo and love it. Strong heavy and durable. Drooped mine a couple of times and no problems. I don't have either of the others so I can't say about them. I use fasttech. It just takes up to two weeks shipping.

He's right. You won't regret buying a Vamo. Big bang for your bucks imho. (no - it doesn't explode - not that sort of "bang") :)

Vamo is a great entry level APV. Great features, good quality, etc. as mentioned above. Just got the Vamo V3 this week and really like it, particularly for the price. Looks much better in person. Pictures don't do it justice. You can also purchase without the rhinestones on the top ring. You also mentioned the Sigelei V3. Currently my favorite APV. Also, great features, but more flexibility as it telescopes so you don't have to fuss with tube changes, extensions, etc. Another option might be the new Innokin iTaste. Still in the ego family, but has most of the features of the APV's, but in a smaller form factor, making it an ideal out and about, backup, or even primary mod. Got two this week in Black and Pearl. Easily replace my Twists/Spinners and at about the same price as the Vamo, which is on the large scale.

The new Innokin iTaste 3.0 (https://ivape.net/index.php/iTaste-V...rl-Chrome.html) runs $34.95 and includes variable power (6 - 11 Watts) and variable voltage (3.3 - 5 Volts), 510 and ego threading (for the evod), 800mAh, Ohms reader, display, +/- buttons, and more. Only slightly longer than the 650mAh ego and currently comes in four colors, Usb to micro passthrough (charger included), etc. VapinGreek review (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AfysWtk5GSk). Free shipping. Even has a remaining puffs display.

Anyway, food for thought. The iTaste MVP is popular in the box configuration right now. I love Sigelei's myself, but early reviews on their box mod, the Sigelei TMax didn't get great reviews. I'll probably wait for V2. Wife loves the Anyvape CVI, and of course you should look at the eVic...best display out there, all the features and more, and upgradable software. Anyway, my two cents. Happy shopping, Welcome to ECF, Congrats on getting here and happy vaping.

Thanks a lot for the feedback, I think I'm sold on a Vamo

I REAALLLY don't like the new look of the Vamo v3, however it has upgrades from the v2 that I do like, so I'll weigh my options ...

Thanks again

I can use T3's with my SS vamo V2 no issues. I think the newer ones you can screw pretty much anything in there as they increased the diameter of the drip catch cup at the top.

OP - Another vote here for the Vamo. You mention your price range - but if you buy from a US vendor, you'll pretty much double that budget once you buy 2 batteries and a decent charger. For $50 you can get the Vamo with the batteries and a good charger from the fasttech link posted on the previous page.

Great device, does everything I want it to, I can use it in shorty mode with an 18350 and, so far, it seems durable.

I've seen a couple of reviews on this and it seems the raised 510 connection leaves a sizeable gap. Is that something you noticed? Have you tried to fix or don't care really?

The only upgrades are cosmetic. That I know, it uses the same chip. You also get rhinestones with the Vamo V3

I've gotten the Vamo V2. Love it. Have dropped it a few times. It has only gotten a few nicks from the drops. No ill effects to the internal portions. Menu is pretty straight forward. My only issue is the buttons. Say I just set it down and something touches the "-" button it will go from 3 volts to 6 volts. It is a surprise at 6 volts. Other than that it is a good solid model.

iv loved my vamo v2 dropped it many times lol never an issue .... except for clearos breaking haha but that says nothing about the vamo itself. but now im bored of my vamo.

i just ordered the sigelei zmax V3 and i cant wait for it to get here i think it looks a million times better then the vamo v2 or v3. one button does everything really nice menu, telescoping.

the sid i dont know much about but at first glance all i can think of is how bland it looks.
and the tube appears to be one solid piece meaning no different battery options?

if u want cheap - vamo
if u want fancy for a few more bucks - sigelei

they have the same chips in them and they are both built strong. so thats really what ur deciding on here.

Raised allows air flow on flush mounted tanks and is an important design feature. However, it is very slight, and similar or better than most other devices with the recommended raised 510 connection.

I saw this deal on Vaper Joe's. Vapor Joes - Daily Vaping Deals: LOW AND FREE SHIP: Sigelei Zmax Telescopic: $50.30

The Vamo from Fasttech is the better deal, since you get the batteries and a good charger

Definitely wouldn't say it's a better deal, I would agree the Vamo is less expensive. I have both the Vamo and Sigelei, and quality wise, the Sigelei is way ahead and looks substantially better, imho. The extra money for the Sigelei is really the better deal when you compare both models.
