That's very nice! 30ga?

I have a question about this, because I just ordered one of these, and it's my first "real" rebuildable, the coils I've built before were for my T3S/protank tanks -- do those screws tighten in the usual direction, and if so, why are the wires wrapped around the screws opposite to how they tighten? Is there a reason to do it that way?

Thx!

I forgot to add that, yes it's 30 gauge,10 wraps, used a 1/16 drill bit.The screws do tighten in the normal direction, and thats just how i laid them in there haha, never even thought about it, I will next time, good catch, thank you.

Well I was particularly looking at that -- good pics, BTW! -- because that's the last thing I need to learn, about doing coils for this rather than those tiny lil T3S coils, getting the coil attached and the wick arranged. I was talking to my husband about it, voicing my uncertainties, and he spoke right up with "in the same direction the screws tighten", and of course I learned the ol "rightie tightie, lefty loosie" thing years ago, so I noticed that yours go opposite to that. Just wondered if this particular application needed it that way for some reason.

I was thinking I would start right around 2 Ω also; everyone says that these work better with lower resistance, but I'm used to 2.5 - 2.7 Ω with these smaller ones, so I don't know how it will be, to me. I'll probably use the same 30ga, but a 7/64 bit, so I don't need so many wraps. And I have some lovely hollow ekowool, rather than cotton. Not that wild about the taste of cotton.

I should have my KFL+ by Wednesday. Picture me doing the banana dance. :D

Actually, since so much wick is needed in these larger attys, I may use 1/8, so I can double the 2mm hollow ekowool and get a lot of "poufiness" at the cut ends. It would be 6 wraps either way.

I'm really amazed by how great these T3S's are hitting since I started building my own coils for them; with this hollow ekowool, I seem to have finally solved the dry hit/leaking dilemma; I don't think I've had a dry hit since I started using this. It's just right at the edge of where it would start to be a real leak, everytime I take the tank off there's just a tiny bit of moisture on the battery. It doesn't accumulate fast enough to be a problem before I need to remove the tank and refill, so I guess that's just about right.

Really looking forward to that kayfun. :D

I used the organic cotton,so far it's been working very well, have'nt got a dry hit and no leaking, but will use less cotton next time for sure.

I may give cotton another try when I get the larger atty. With the little bitty ones, the head is so tiny that it concentrates the heat really badly, and cotton scorches in a heartbeat. That shouldn't be the case, with the larger ones, so maybe I'll try it again.

Woohoo, I just got the shipping/tracking info on this, and it was shipped at 4 this afternoon, and left the NJ sort facility at 9:38pm... I could get this thing Tuesday, or even Monday. That happened when I got my Sigelei; ordered it from Desert Vapes on a Sat. afternoon, it shipped within hours, and I got it in Monday's mail, and it was just regular 1st class mail.

You can wash it all, I just dry it with a paper towel and blow off any residual water. I've never had it cause any issues.

I will add, I always use distilled water so it won't leave any mineral deposits behind, the water here in FL is like liquid rock.

I always thought the water in FL smelled like Cuticura soap, very sulfurous, and so soft, it's nearly impossible to rinse shampoo out of your hair. But then I'm used to GA's hard water, which is *extremely* different!

We have a whole-house filtration system, so I'll wash it in that; then, I'll rinse it again using the additional reverse-osmosis filtered water we have available at the kitchen sink.

Soooooooo nice not to have to buy distilled water anymore, but whole-house filtration systems cost a lot; think we still have about $5k left to pay on it. But, when it's paid for, it will add about $9k equity to our house. :thumb:

Thx much!!!

Ok, I did get the Kayfun today, yay! So, I'm about to wash it up, and I was wondering... do I wash the part where the build deck is, too? Was just wondering about residual water down in the crack between the two parts of the build deck.

Thx!

Awesome, your gonna love it, that flavor is way more intense. I did wash the whole thing off, under some hot water then let it air dry for a few hours.
I was'nt sure myself, so I went and watched some videos.
I have built 3 coils since Saturday, haha, but got the ohms I was after(1.7)

The first one I did, I was aiming at 2.0 Ω but it ended up 2.1, and it was ok, but quite slow, and a little cool. So, I needed to go to my lower nic anyway, it's so late, so I emptied and cleaned it again, and made another, and this one came out perfectly at 1.7 Ω, and that really does make all the difference! But it's a bit too airy, so I guess I gotta take it off the Sigelei again and see if I can get that adjusted, now that I have a good coil on it.

But, everyone told me this would be easier than a T3S, and it's really not; getting the wire around those $#$&$% screws is an exercise in frustration and profanity. I have GOT to get one of those lighted magnifying glass things, and it would be really helpful too if it had one of those pincer arms to hold whatever you're working on, to give you both hands free.
