My wife who uses mechs all the time mostly and is quite smart got me my first mech today as a present. I now have a copper stingray x as well as a matching copper Tugboat v2. This whole setup is so small I am in love.

dual coils reading at exactly .2 ohms, tossed a fully charged VTC4 in and I am now officially vapeing a mech. I cant see myself ever giving up my regulated devices but I can so see myself getting a few more mechs. What are some TINY 18650 mechs (not hybrid.) You give me the names and I will check the measurements. This Stingray X is sooo small. I didn't measure it but with my dripper its like 4 inches long I would guess. That's what really intrigued me, the size factor of 18650 mechs. They so tiny! This thing is giving me some flavor! I am going to get rowdy with my Mutation X at .1ohms soon just to see what I can chuck but that wont be my regular build. I always liked the .2-.5 range my wife uses depending on the atty so that's the range I will stick to regularly.

I have been vapeing for a long time got tons of regulated boxes and drippers you know the scoop. This is my first mech though and I am already stalking fasttech checking messurments trying to find some short mechs.

No. .2. And VTC4s are the same as a 5 the difference is mah. The only other suitable batts are Samsung 25r and I wouldnt sub ohm this low on them. I been at this sub ohm game for a while I am confident a VTC4 would be fine for a .1 build as well. What would you use? The 35 amp e fest that are really 20amp? VTC series have 30amp and thats the highest I personally know of.

I think .1 is excessive for a VTC4 and I'd never build that low (looks like drawing 42 amps on a fresh batt) but I'm not a pro so I'm going to just say - be careful :)

Shortest mechs right now that are popular are the SMPL and the 4nine. They are hybrids (like the Stingray X with the adapter). The Stingray X is well within that group of "shortest" though. Great mech.

Yes, a 0.1 ohm build pulls 42A. That's just not safe with our current batteries. You really shouldn't do it.

The Stingray X is even shorter, but take care with the hybrid connector. It does have a regular top cap, too.

But I do see tons of people vapeing .1 builds. Even with an e fest 35 amp. My wife who I consider an expert builds .1-.2 builds only. So what gives? And yes the Stingray X I got has a hybrid cap but I am looking for the shortest non hybrid. I am not sure about hybrids. But what gives here? Are people just not being safe by building .1 and its just not a guarentee bad things will happen? Confused regulated device user

Well, not only should not exceed the battery's amp rating, you should give yourself a safety margin. You might get away with it for awhile, but its an accident waiting to happen :(

I have a minor in physics and major in mathematics. And own more than 20 RBAs, and I won't do it.

Why do people do it? Why do they ride motorcycles without helmets?

I ride my Harley with no helmet because az is a helmet free state. If I was forced to by law then obviously I would wear one. Freedom of choice is a wonderful thing.... Lol

But, you'll only hurt yourself if you crash without wearing one. An exploding mod could hurt or kill others. I, myself, always wear a helmet, but I'm rather fond of my brain :)

Yeah, I had a .16 ohm build with my VCT 4s even with a 13% head room, I personally went back to .3 ohm builds so I can use my lonely Samsung 25r as well. I really didn't notice the difference in cloud chucking between the 2 builds either. I would rather be on the safe side because it is my own choice ;)

Cool. And I am going to stick to .15 builds or higher. Should be good for sure. Thanks for informing me. Long time regulated user first time mech user. What about some other short mechs? Nemesis, Caravela? If I got one of the shortest what are some other non hybrid shorties.

Glad to hear :). You're still right on the edge though. 0.2 would be better ;)

Paragons aren't huge in 18650 form. GP Paps mechs aren't bad either.

No.
Not unless they are sucking on the atty along with you.
Ima stop the nonsense right there.
There has never been a secondary injury from a IMR battery exploding in a mod. This fear mongering by gross exaggeration is rediculous.

Our batteries can handle pulses over 35 amps.
Yes there is a danger. There is a risk with any mechanical. But you people act like a .16 coil will vaporize the block as soon as it's fired.
This is ridiculous.

Some of you base all your vast knowledge on a YouTube video and an internet post by someone who hasn't a clue.

Ye I dont know tbh. I trust my wife though she has been using mechs for ever and all that jazz. She vapes a .1 coil sometimes and has been for years with Sony VTC4s. Heck I even see some people doing .1 builds with those "35amp" E Fest cells. I wouldnt do that. But I have been chucking clouds all afternoon at the vape shop I frequent. Got a .1 ohm build in my Darkhorse and a Sony VTC4 in my Cartel switching out with Nitecores re wrapped VTC4 when the Sony gets low.

Cartel is small to. Tubes 83mm not sure how long overall with the switch and such.
